Singer Adam Lambert has been performing with Queen since 2011, but even today, fans express opinions about his supposed attempt to replace the irreplaceable: the band’s legendary vocalist, Freddie Mercury .

In an interview with The Times ,the artist opens up about the pressure and his true intentions as the lead singer of Queen + Adam Lambert , “I knew I didn’t want to do an impersonation. Freddie and I are different. We have different physiques, we’ve had different experiences. Those are parallels – but I’m known for having a very outspoken personality, and let’s say there are similarities between our personal lives – but I’m aware that the audience isn’t seeing Freddie. That’s why I have to give the best performance I possibly can to make sure nobody leaves disappointed.”

In the same interview, guitarist Brian May stated that when he met Lambert on American Idol , he and Roger Taylor weren’t looking for a vocalist, but he was so charismatic that it seemed like the right choice. Furthermore, May emphasized that Adam should remind the audience every night that he was there to pay tribute to Queen and Freddie, as he was a fan just like everyone else in the audience.
