The Duchess of Cambridge accompanied her spouse, Prince William, both 42, to Southport on Thursday to meet with the families of the three girls who died in the July knife assault at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class.

They posted pictures on their official Instagram account of a visit with Liz, a 16-year-old aspiring photographer from Harrogate, England, who was diagnosed with cancer in January.

Liz has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer called desmoplastic small round cell tumor, and was told by the BBC that she has a life expectancy of six months to three years.

The prince asked Liz to take photos at the investiture ceremony he was organizing for her photography bucket list.

It was delightful to see Liz at Windsor today. A skilled photographer full of creativity and strength that has motivated us both. The caption on their social media post expressed gratitude for sharing their photos and story with us.

Kate announced she was free of cancer in the month of September.

She declared on X, formerly Twitter, on September 9 how relieved she was to have finished her chemotherapy treatment.

My priority now is to do everything I can to prevent cancer. Even though I have completed chemotherapy, the journey to fully heal and recover will be lengthy, and I need to approach each day with care and patience.

The three children’s mother had mostly stayed out of the public eye since announcing she was undergoing.
