Age is no barrier to delivering chills. Teenage America’s Got Talent contestant Jeffrey Li did just that with an impressive performance of “You Raise Me Up,” made famous by Josh Groban.
The 13-year-od Toronto native auditioned with a challenging song which, in his own words, helped him when he felt low and lonely. There was nothing down about it. Li hit all the high notes and earned high praises from the judges.
Early on, the youngster admitted to nerves. When judge Heidi Klum asked what he’d do if he won the million dollar prize, he confessed: “I’m the only child. So I’d love a companion. I guess, a dog.”
Cowell upped the ante. “If you do well,” he said, “I’m going to buy you a dog.” Li scored a “yes” from each judge and Cowell can go shopping for a pooch.
