For all the stick Susan Boyle gets, she deserves a lot of respect after the revelation she has been diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome.

The announcement was made over the weekend, and while many would have forgiven her for lying low, the Britain’s Got Talent star made a very public appearance on Loose Women yesterday.

However questionable her duet with Elvis Presley is, Susan seemed in her element as she performed O Come All Ye Faithful on the daytime show .

The Scottish singer – who was the runner-up in Simon Cowell’s talent show in 2009 – was dressed in a white blouse, black trousers and a glitzy jacket as she belted out the Christmas hymn.

Her new single has been digitally remastered to feature the voice of the late rock ‘n’ roll legend who passed away in 1977.

Speaking about the track, she said: “I grew up listening to Elvis and to sing with him, well, I didn’t think it would be possible. Isn’t technology brilliant? The track is for my father – and for Elvis.”

The performance comes after her brave announcement over the weekend , and she was “relieved” to learn of her condition a year ago.

She explained: “I was told I had brain damage when I was a kid. It was the wrong diagnosis. I always knew it was an unfair label.

“Now I have a clearer understanding of what’s wrong and I feel relieved and a bit more relaxed about myself.

“I went to seek a diagnosis from a specialist. Nobody told me to. I thought I had a more serious illness and couldn’t function properly.”
