While most youngsters have spent their summer sleeping in and playing, three hardworking brothers have set up their own business and it’s proving to be a success in their local town.

Brothers Marcus, Travell and Marcelino McBride are just 12, 10 and 9 but have already set up their own business in their home city of Saginaw, Michigan.

Eldest brother Marcus decided he wanted to start a lawncare service a few months ago and with a little help from mom Terri Reed they started 3 Amigos Lawncare Service.

“Marcus told me that he wanted to start his own business doing lawn care work,” mom Terri told Michigan Live. “So, the following day, I got up and I purchased all their equipment and their work clothes.”

Now, with lots of hard work and determination, they have a long list of regular customers.

“I’m very proud of them,” their mom added. “They’re some hard working young boys.”

Now with the summer season nearing fall the three brothers plan to offer all-season services, clearing leaves and snow.

Proud mom Terri said her eldest son didn’t have any lawn care experience at the time, but he had a vision and “he likes to work.”

Throughout the summer the brothers have been busy mowing, weed whacking, edging, trimming, bagging and cleaning up.

“It’s going great. I didn’t expect them to be as busy as they are. It’s been crazy,” Terri said, who owns a number of rental properties in the area.

Now, with around 40 regular customers in the books the boys have earned enough money to put into an investment property.

“They are enjoying it,” she said of the business. “They have their weekly pay days and everything else goes into their business accounts.”

Things seem to be heating up in a debate, and the topic of conversation this time around is Planet Fitness. It seems that the chain of fitness studios is underfire after a video went viral of a disgruntled member…

Keep reading to find out what it is all about…

A woman in Alaska posted a photo of a trans woman in the women’s locker room at the Fairbank’s location. She accused the company of allowing ‘men’ into a space that seems deemed should only be exclusive to cisgender women.

The original picture seemed to show a transgender woman as she was shaving over a sink in a locker room. The woman who took the picture ranted and raved in a video afterward about how upset she was. The video ended up going viral and sparking a massive debate.

Shutterstock

What happened, as a result, was that the local Planet Fitness revoked her membership, while the transgender person who had been photographed by her was left alone. Planet Fitness also doubled down on its decision, saying that its policy allows people with certain gender identities to use whichever locked room they see fit.

With that being said, they said people cannot act in bad faith, or their memberships could be canceled.

However, now it seems there are more pictures of the trans woman who had been originally photographed going around as she uses the gym’s locker room. People on the more conservative side of politics have called on others to cancel their Planet Fitness memberships nationwide.

Shutterstock

It seems this has had a big effect, as Planet Fitness’s stock price has taken a big hit. The market value has also plummeted, with stocks going from $66 to about $56 over the course of just 12 days.

The company’s market cap has also fallen around $400 million. The group has gone from $5.3 billion to about $4.9 billion in the course of just five days!

We just never know how important any given action on any given day can be to someone else.

Since we spend so much of our lives taking care of ourselves, the bulk of our focus is directed inwards, and often we can lose sight of just how much we can affect others, the influence we can have.

That’s why it’s so important – if anyone needed reminding at this stage – for us all to do our utmost to be kindalways. Compassion and good will toward others are traits that never go out of fashion. Quite the opposite, in fact, they’ll forever have a crucial role to play in society

Joyce Rhinehart was out to get ice cream with her grandson one day, back in 2017, when she spotted a family sitting on a bench nearby. They too were enjoying ice cream, and Joyce claimed she felt a sudden compulsion to take their photo…

As Joyce explained in a later Facebook post: “On June 8th I was at Rita’s Italian Ice with my grandson Blake treating him after his tennis lesson. As we were about to leave, there was this sweet family all sitting together on one of the benches enjoying a custard cone. Something urged me to ask them if I could take their picture…”

Joyce ended up doing just that, before the two families went their separate ways. It was a pleasant, heartwarming exchange like any other, and that would have been that.

Sadly, though, fate had other ideas.

Joyce’s post continued: “I took this picture below and then handed my phone to the young daughter and told her to go ahead and text the picture to their cell phone.

Left to take Blake home and explained to him how I have done this before when I see cute family moments of total strangers so they can have the memory.

Usually, I do this on vacation.

Days later, however, Joyce was sitting on her patio when she got a text message from an unknown number.

“This was the message::::::” Joyce explained.

“Dear madam, you took our picture in front of Rita’s on June 8th. My wife has passed away yesterday and this is the last picture we have together as a family. Please accept my deepest gratitude for your kindness, it means the world to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Joyce further clarified that she had sent a number of messages back and forth with the man and found out that his wife had been ill for the past year.

My heart is heavy for this sweet family I don’t even know and the tremendous gift that was left to them cause I listened to my gut that day. I’m in awe!!” Joyce said.

I don’t know about you, but this little gesture of compassion was enough to move me. It really is proof that we should never underestimate the profound difference a random act of kindness can make!

Dakota Fanning has more or less grown up in Hollywood. She has been acting since she was five years old. She began her career with commercials and later moved on to movies.

She has had a stellar career with big projects at a very tender age. Having acted with some of Hollywood’s biggest names before she even turned 13, the actress has quite a few interesting stories. Keep reading to know more.

“Tom sends me a birthday gift every year and has since that birthday,” Fanning said in a recent interview, recalling how Cruise started the tradition with a very special gift when they were filming ‘War of the Worlds’ together.

Dakota Fanning has been doing some press lately to promote her Netflix series Ripley, in which she stars alongside Andrew Scott. During the interview, she revealed the story of how she got her very first cellphone.

Scott and Fanning played a game together where Scott was asked, “Who gave Dakota her first cell phone?” and he replied, “Okay, well it’s going to be some Hollywood icon… Tom Cruise?” His answer was correct as Fanning confirmed that it was indeed Cruise who had bequeathed her with her her first cellphone; a Motorola Razr.

“Oh, my God, I was so excited,” she recalled what it felt like to get such an amazing birthday present from the movie star.

Even though she “didn’t have anybody to call or text at that time,” it still felt cool for her to walk around with her very own flip phone.

“You know, I was 11,” she justified. “But I loved having it. I loved it. I felt so cool.”

She revealed that ever since her movie with him in 2005, she has seen how thoughtful Cruise is. She said the actor has remembered her birthday every year since they did War of the Worlds together. And not only did he remember, but he made sure to send her a present.

“Tom sends me a birthday gift every year, and has since that birthday,” she shared, which included her 30th birthday which just passed recently. “Yeah, so thoughtful, really really nice,” she praised Cruise.

“That’s lovely, he’s never given me anything,” Scott joked before he looked straight at the camera.

We’ve all done things we’re not proud of in the past, made decisions we wish we hadn’t, and said things we would want to take back.

Yet I’m willing to wager very few of us have regrets so large and visible as Ethan ‘ModBoy’ Bramble, a body fanatic from Australia who covered his body with over 200 tattoos.

Expressing oneself through ink is common these days, while intricate, quirky tattoos appear to be all the rage. That said, there’s a limit to what most people are willing to pay to have put on themselves, and for most people that limit falls well short of what Ethan was ready to do.

As per reports, Ethan was just 11 years old when he decided to get his first ever body modification, which involved the stretching of his ears. Since then, he’s undergone all manner of procedures, including having his tongue split and his belly button removed.

It’s his tattoos that garner the most attention, however, and that’s hardly a surprise given that he’s covered head to toe. All told, Ethan revealed that he had spent around $60,000 AUD (roughly $39,000 UD) to look the way he does.

Now, though, he’s expressed some regret over his past choices.

“I guess you could say I regret some tattoos,” he told LadBibleTV’s No Filter series.

“Not just regret, I think there’s a difference between regret and wanting to be perceived differently.”

Ethan went on to say that he’s worried about the judgement he might face while performing certain daily tasks, such as taking his young daughter to school.

“The face is a big thing that can lead to so many – for some people, not everyone – can lead to a lot of problems for yourself, which I probably wouldn’t want my daughter to have to deal with until she was a bit older,” he said.

“I wish that I had not gone as hectic as I did on my face.”

In an attempt to clean up his image, Ethan’s been undergoing painful laser surgery treatment in a bid to reverse some of the ink he got when he was younger.

He explained: “I’ve been getting laser [surgery], or have been, for pretty much 12 months… We do it in sections, but I’ve probably gone over the full thing six or seven times.

“I started getting it done because of the anxiety and stuff I was getting… Mental stuff is a funny thing to pin down, but I want to think that a lot of the anxiety was from just having a face full of tattoos.

“I’m happy with the way that I look, but I’m also happy with the mentality that over the next two years, my face tattoos are going to become less and less and less. I’m just clearing the canvas.”

But it was her husband, David Beckham is the person who stole the show with a touching video tribute. The video featured pictures of Victoria over the years, pictures of her as a child, her time as Posh Spice, as a designer, as his wife, as his mom and more. The video was set to the song “More Than a Woman” by the Bee Gees.’

“Happy Birthday to my beautiful wife…,” the former footballer wrote. “As you head into this birthday you should look back and be proud of what you have accomplished , achieved & what you have built , Posh spice , business woman & of course marrying an England captain 😂 But your biggest success are your children , you guide them , love them & teach them… They love you beyond words , we all love you so much x Have a special day you deserve it all 🩷 50 and fit 🩷 I AM BEING HONEST 🩷 @victoriabeckham @brooklynpeltzbeckham@romeobeckham @cruzbeckham #HarperSeven 🩷.”

This is such a heartwarming wish from her husband of over 25 years. It is touching how much they still love one another.

Beckham also cheekily featured the infamous ‘Rolls Royce’ in the picture with him in the background saying ‘be honest.’ The moment gained popularity after David Beckham’s documentary series was released on Netflix, and in an interview Victoria said her family was ‘very working class.’ As she says this, David appears and asks her to ‘be honest’ and to reveal what car her dad drove her to school in. The former English captain is relentless till Victoria admits it was a Rolls Royce. Beckham made sure to include a picture of his wife posing in front of the infamous car as a child!

People found this inclusion hilarious. One person wrote, “Fabulous, and love how the Rolls Royce featured,” while another added, “There it isss, Daddy’s Rolls Royce! 😂.” Another Instagram user added, “You got the roller in😂.” Clearly everyone enjoyed David Beckham’s cheeky inclusion as proof of Victoria’s posh past!

The former popstar who turned herself into a major designer in 2008, also acknowledged her birthday and took a recap of the last five decades and all that she has achieved.

She took to Instagram and wrote, “As I get ready to step into 50 (in heels, of course!), I feel so incredibly blessed to have reached this milestone.” She continued, “Blessed, but also accomplished and deeply content. Not just of where I am as a woman, but of how far my fashion and beauty brands have come. My ambition was always to empower women and make them feel like the best version of themselves. To me, that meant trusting my instinct and never compromising on my creative vision.”

She further went on, writing a word of appreciation for her husband and kids, “I believe that you can be many things. A pop star, a mother, a wife, a designer… My passion has always been to dream big, then dream even bigger! Believe in yourself first — everyone else will follow. And if you’re really lucky, you’ll find someone who believes in you even more than you do. @DavidBeckham, I’m forever grateful for your unconditional love and support, and for our beautiful children. @BrooklynPeltzBeckham, @RomeoBeckham, @CruzBeckham, #HarperSeven, you complete me. I’m so proud, so in awe of the kind, hard-working, talented individuals you are all becoming.”

She ended her post with a heartwarming line, “So, here’s to doing more of what I love with the people I love. I’m so thankful for my family, my friends, and my incredible team! This is the beginning of an exciting new chapter, and I’m only just getting started. Mummy and daddy, I love you. Kisses Victoria xx.”

2024 is not just special because of Victoria’s 50th birthday but also because this is the year the couple celebrated their 25th birthday. Beckham has always praised his wife, once saying, “Yes, she’s beautiful. Yes, she was sexy. Yes, I fancied her, but in all honesty, I like a strong woman and I like the fact that she works hard.” He went on in his praise, “I like the fact that she’s a great mum. I like the fact that she looks after me sometimes, most of the time, and you know, we’ve created this life with four amazing children, which are the most important things in our life.”

Tom Selleck doesn’t need an introduction. The now-78-year-old actor has been in show business for decades, and despite his recent health scares, he doesn’t seem to have any plans on retiring. In recent years, he’s starred in the successful series Blue Bloods.

Selleck’s appearance has been quite a trademark, and we have all gotten used to how he looks. However, now, fans are shocked about one thing that has been removed: His iconic mustache.

Tom Selleck wasn’t sure he wanted to be an actor growing up. Born January 29, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, his family moved to California, where he grew up in the San Fernando Valley.

Tom Selleck – early life

Selleck dreamt about enrolling at the University of Southern California (USC), but his family couldn’t afford the tuition.

In 1962, he graduated from Grant High School. After enrolling at Los Angeles Valley College, he lived at home with his parents to save money.

In his early days, it seemed more likely that Tom would have a career in athletics instead of acting. He was an up-and-coming basketball player and dreamt about going pro. With that in mind, one can only imagine how happy he was after being awarded a basketball scholarship at the University of Southern California.

“I never did school plays. I had no interest,” Tom told AARP in 2015.

After some time, Selleck understood that basketball probably wouldn’t be his future career. However, he had a backup plan and took a side job to help pay his tuition. The aspiring student first landed some gigs in television commercials and appeared on The Dating Game.

Tom Selleck was offered a spot on 20th Century Fox’s talent program shortly after. He started crafting his skills, but after two years, he took leave for six months of active duty.

Upon returning, Selleck was dropped. But instead of giving up, he was confident he would make it as an actor.

In the early 1970s, he landed smaller parts in many television series. Then, approaching his mid-30s, Selleck starred in six television pilots. Despite that, his big breakthrough didn’t arrive.

Tom Selleck in ‘Magnum, P.I.’

According to Tom, that was why many thought he was an overnight success when he landed the role of Thomas Magnum in Magnum, P.I.

In reality, he had struggled and fought desperately hard.

“The luckiest thing that happened was that I didn’t get a real job until I was 35,” Selleck explained.

“When I was 25, I looked 35 but sounded 15. There are a lot of very good actors who make it as younger leading men but don’t graduate — because the audience won’t accept them as grown up.”

Magnum, P.I. became a huge success. The crime drama television series aired between 1980 and 1988 and brought Tom instant celebrity status. He was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series five years in a row – he finally won it in 1984. If it wasn’t for the show, he may have quit acting for good.

Tom reached cult status through MagnumP.I., and his career ever since has been nothing short of an incredible success story. Other credits include films like Three Men and a Baby and In & Out. He was also introduced to a new generation of fans when he starred as Monica Geller’s older boyfriend, Richard Burke, beginning in Season 2 of the hit comedy series Friends.

In 2010, Selleck got the role of Frank Reagan on the drama series Blue Bloods, which opened a new and exciting chapter for him. The show has aired for 13 seasons.

“I never thought I’d be lucky enough to do a show that had that long a run. Maybe Magnum, P.I. could have reached that number because nobody wanted to cancel it. I was the guy causing the divorce,” Selleck explained.

Tom Selleck says his back is “messed up”

“I’d done the number one movie [Three Men and a Baby] in the US and I wanted to have a family. The number of series that have done as many episodes as Blue Bloods is a tiny, tiny percentage. This is a validation that we’re all fighting the good fight. All the actors are very committed to the work. So, it’s a number that gives reward for the professionalism of this entire cast.”

In many films and series, actors have their own stunt-person. Often, it can be a dangerous job, but for a few, having someone else perform their stunts is simply out of the question.

Selleck’s done most of his stunts himself in the past, but that has come at a cost. He says his body is not what it used to be.

“My back’s kind of messed up,” Selleck shared.

“When you do stunts in movies—I do a lot of them—you’re taking a risk, but you’re also sitting around a lot. So you might do a fight scene, and then you sit in your chair, and it’s not like you have a personal trainer saying, “Okay, we’re ready to go, but Tom needs ten minutes of stretching and warm-up.”

“And I think the price,” he added, “I see it with peers, I talk to them sometimes. You just see the price of all those stunts. They weren’t that hard, but I think it’s the stop-and-go of all that stuff.”

Selleck once revealed that he doesn’t like going to the gym, though he’s trying to keep fit by working at the family ranch in Ventura, California.

“I have a 63-acre ranch, and I do not all, but a lot of, the grunt work. Clearing brush, planting trees. We’ve got about a hundred ancient oaks I planted. I’ve probably planted a thousand trees myself.”

Tom Selleck – iconic mustache

While Tom Selleck has a great interest in horses outside his ordinary work, he is also on the brink of becoming a writer.

Speaking with TV Insider last year, the star actor revealed he is writing a book.

“I’m halfway done. It’s about my 50 years in show business. The tentative title is, Don’t Know Where I’m Going, But There’s No Use Being Late. I doubt if I’ll change it. That’s the story of an actor’s life. You finish your job, a show or a movie, and you’re unemployed. It’s fun. I hope the book is kind of funny because I don’t take myself that seriously. A sense of humor is almost essential for a long career as is a sense of humor in your work,” he said.

Since Tom Selleck became a household name through Magnum P.I., his mustache has been iconic. It has become one of those things that you associate with Selleck, and he was worried that the facial hair would significantly affect his career. Tom felt like he was stuck with it forever.

“After Magnum, I think I went, ‘Oh my gosh!’ I’m going to live with mustache questions for the rest of my life,” he once said.

Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic

“Most of the time I got hired they said the mustache is okay, but you gotta shave it off for the job. I was born without it and I’m prepared to work without it.”

Meanwhile, Selleck joked that he might have gotten the Blue Bloods job only because of the facial hair.

“Well, it meant a job on Blue Bloods,” he said. “The director said maybe you can play this guy without a mustache. I said, ‘Sure, I was born that way.’”

Tom Selleck ditches signature mustache – almost unrecognizable

The mustache has, as mentioned, been iconic for Selleck. But now, he is unrecognizable as he has shaven it off.

The 78-year-old actor had not been spotted in public for more than a year when he was photographed driving his silver pickup truck near his residence.

Tom Selleck hasn’t been spotted in public for many, many months. However, on a rare public outing at the end of September, he was photographed while driving his pickup truck near his house, Page Six, who had gotten hold of the pictures, reported.

Selleck was pretty much unrecognizable, as he had ditched his signature mustache. Instead, he rocked a full beard as he ran errands in the San Fernando Valley.

It goes without saying that Tom’s career is one to admire. But another thing to celebrate is his loyalty to his wife, Jillie Mack. While many celebrity marriages come and go, the pair have been happily married for over 35 years.

In an interview with Closer Weekly, Selleck recalled the first time he met Jillie Mack at a performance of the musical Cats, in which Mack was starring. It was the 1980s after Selleck’s decade-long marriage to model Jacqueline Ray ended.

While Selleck says he’s not as smooth with the ladies as his on-screen counterparts, he approached his future wife backstage, though she was the one who made the first move.

Tom Selleck – family

“She had to go on [stage]. I was hemming and hawing, and she finally asked, ‘Do you want to meet for a cocktail?’” Selleck recalled.

The date apparently went well, and Selleck and Mack were married in 1987 in a private ceremony. One year after their wedding, their daughter Hannah was born.

Ever since, Selleck has put his family ahead of stardom and has tried to keep his personal life out of the Hollywood spotlight.

In fact, he even let his acting career take a back seat to ensure he had adequate time to spend with his wife and beloved daughter.

“I quit Magnum to have a family,” Tom Selleck told People in 2012.

“It took a long time to get off the train, but I try very hard to have balance, and this ranch has helped me do that.”

“We both thought it was the best environment for Hannah to grow up,” Jillie Mack added.

Tom – a great fan of nature and the outdoors – was keen on sharing his passion with his daughter. Soon enough, he’d passed it on to her!

Tom and his wife Jillie live on the 65-acre ranch in Ventura, and Hannah was brought up there. Both father and daughter share a passion for horses; later on, the two had a side business breeding horses.

Becoming a parent is always a big milestone for people. A lot of young parents look forward to seeing their children growing up and checking off more milestones on their lists.

This heartbreaking story of a young mother was cut off too short… Keep reading to know more about what happened.

A young mother from Hull, UK, had already brought her infant daughter’s Christmas present. 20-year-old Caitlin Faulder had given birth to her daughter Poppy 5 months ago.

According to the newspaper, the young mother from Hull, UK, had already bought Christmas presents for her baby.

Faulder lived with her daughter at her parent’s home. She would have celebrated her daughter’s first Christmas this December. But unfortunately, she was found dead in her bed on November 19.

Her sister, Charlotte Faulder, says the family is heartbroken at the loss. Her sister should not have died so soon. When she was pregnant, Caitlin underwent an EKG, which showed some abnormalities to her heart but was told it was nothing to worry about.

Her sister revealed that she was supposed to get an echocardiogram when Poppy was six weeks old, but they never called her. When she eventually went to the doctor, she was told that everything is normal and her blood pressure was fine as well. On Saturday night, Caitlin was completely fine. She danced around and had a wonderful time with her daughter, according to her sister Charlotte’s recollection.

The young mother was excited for the Holiday season and decorating the Christmas tree, among other things. It was her father who found her dead in her bed. He heard little Poppy crying and wondered why Caitlin had not soothed her as well. He thought she still might be asleep so went to her room to investigate.

He went in and said, “Caitlin, Poppy is crying, wake up,” but it seemed that she did not stir from her slumber. He then looked closer and realized his beloved daughter was dead.

Leaving the battlefields of the military-medical comedy M*A*S*H, Gary Burghoff, who played the sweet yet sneaky Radar, surrendered his career to fixing his family, which was slowly breaking down.

Recently, the 79-year-old Emmy-winning actor became a grandfather when his son, Miles “Sonar” Burghoff, had a baby girl.

Gary Burghoff (Photo by Doug Griffin/Toronto Star via Getty Images)

In late March 2023, Miles posted a photo of him holding his newly-born daughter. The caption reads, “I caught the best 8-pounder of my life today! Everyone meet Rylee Elisabeth Burghoff!”

Inheriting his father’s love of fishing, Miles is a professional angler. “He’s the one who really started me out,” the younger Burghoff said at a fishing tournament.

His father answered, “I’m just here to offer moral support. This is a testament to parents doing what they love with their kids.”

Though Miles didn’t follow the same career trail as his father, he does have a name reminiscent of the famous Radar. “I was dubbed the name Sonar because my father had the role of Radar on the TV series M*A*S*H,” Miles said.

Miles and his brother Jordan are the sons of Burghoff and his second wife, Elizabeth Bolstrom, whom he married in 1985 and divorced in 2005. Bolstrom died in November 2019.

Burghoff also has a daughter, Gena Gayle Burghoff, who was born in 1985, with his first wife, Janet Gayle, whom he divorced in 1979.

When Burghoff left M*A*S*H, he didn’t leave with much.

“I didn’t leave M*A*S*H a wealthy man,” Burghoff said in an interview with People. “I could have renegotiated my contract, but money wasn’t the most important thing in my life…You either want to be rich and famous, or you want to be a daddy. You can’t do both.”

Rejecting several offers for roles in 1980’s sitcoms, including a part on Newhart, Burghoff instead chose regional theater. He added, “I wanted to pick the number of weeks I’d work and spend the rest of the time with my family.”

Washington, D.C.: Larry Linville (Frank Burns of M*A*S*H) with Gary Burghoff, who played Radar O’Reilly on the television show M*A*S*H.

The theater roles, which eventually burned out, didn’t compare to his breakout role on M*A*S*H.

Spanning over seven seasons from 1972 to 1983, Burghoff starred in the hit TV series as Cpl. Walter ‘Radar’ O’Reilly, a naïve farm boy working as the company clerk (sometimes bugler) with the U.S. Army’s Mobile Army Surgical Hospital (MASH) in the Korean War (1950-1953).

Burghoff is the only actor who played his character in both the TV series and the film (1970), which also starred Donald Sutherland, Robert Duvall and Sally Kellerman in her Oscar-nominated performance of Major Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan, a role played by Loretta Swit in the TV adaptation.

After appearing on every episode for the first three seasons, it’s reported that Burghoff’s demanding schedule was taxing on his family life, which resulted in reducing his character’s appearances to 13 episodes, down from his previous 24.

Season seven marked Radar’s departure, with a two-part farewell, Good-Bye Radar, that explained his discharge from the army.

In an interview with The Television Academy Foundation, M*A*S*H director, Charles S. Dubin explained that Burghoff was having trouble with his wife at the time. Referring the Goodbye Radar episodes, where the character has to say good-bye to the woman he loved, Dubin said that Burghoff “couldn’t go on. He broke into tears and I had to stop everything for 15 minutes and walk him around the backlot of Fox.” Dubin continued, “In the script, he was talking about a future with her, possibly, (which) related to his own domestic problems. I think that was a large part of it.”

M*A*S*H continued another three seasons with the show’s originals–the award-winning Alan Alda playing Capt. Benjamin Franklin “Hawkeye” Pierce, Loretta Swit as “Hot Lips” Houlihan and Jamie Farr as Sgt. Maxwell Q. Klinger–minding the barracks.

Burghoff reprised his role as Radar for two episodes in the spinoff series AfterMash, and for W*A*L*T*E*R, a third spin-off telling the story of Radar’s life post MASH, which wasn’t picked up.

Hoping to lure Burghoff back, producers offered him a $US4 million contract, which he declined. By 1991, “the money ran out,” and Burghoff was near bankrupt. “I was down to my last $500,” he said in the interview with People.

That was when the multi-talented Burghoff–an off-Broadway actor, jazz musician, stamp collector and inventor of Chum Magic, a device used to attract fish–decided to paint a new picture.

Burghoff started painting North American wildlife, canvas oil paintings that were displayed in galleries, that sold for $25,000 a piece.

Today, if you’re lucky, you might be able to find a piece at auction.

Four years ago, Burghoff supported a GoFundMe campaign for people whose lives were affected by the California fires. Of course, he looks older in the video, posted by his son Jordan, which had fans praising his acting and efforts.

One said, “OMG I remember him when I was just a child watching mash. He still has the same voice and looks.” Another commented, “Good to see you Mr. Burghoff, I’m donating not just because of the need, but because I feel I owe you something. As a kid I watched MASH and loved your work. Now my wife and I are enjoying it all over again on Netflix. You made me laugh, feel, and think, and I appreciated all of that. Jordan, thanks for posting this.”

The 57-year-old beauty icon however has had her fair share of detractors who tried to take away from her success. Now the actress is opening up about her relationship with her mother Teri who was her manager since Shields had been a child.

Her mother was her first critic. The actress recalls, “My mother would get drunk and say: ‘Why don’t you move your fat ass?’ So, I’ve always believed I had a fat ass.” She experienced body-shaming from her own mother which skewed how she viewed herself.

In 2012, her mother passed away after a lifelong battle with alcoholism. But her remarks about Shields left an impact on the actress that was hard to shake. It took years to repair the damage that was done.

In the end, it was her husband of 17 years Chris Henchy, a screen-writer who made the actress accept her body for what it was and made her see her own beauty.

She shared, “I would walk backwards out of rooms, and he’d say: ‘No, I want to grab onto you,’” Shields said. “He really celebrated my womanliness and my body. And I needed a man to celebrate me.”

She was previously married to Andre Agassi from 1997 to 1999. She broke into Hollywood as a teenage actress but it was her iconic Calvin Klein jeans ad, shot by Richard Avedon in 1980 that made her into the icon she is today.

While the actress was always considered beautiful by the masses, she shares how there would always be criticism about her. She said, “I modeled swimwear when I was 15, and even then I didn’t think I had a swimsuit body.” “I was a cover girl, not a supermodel. I was ‘neck up’ — the face, the eyebrows — and I was always described as ‘athletic’; ‘not rail-thin’; ‘not a runway model.’ Those messages, they seep into your consciousness,” the actress finished.

A few years ago, she did another swimsuit campaign and teamed up with Calvin Klein for a campaign yet again. She said she dedicated to the role and made sure she looked her best. “I knew that if I didn’t look my best, I’d be embarrassed and mad at myself. I stopped drinking beer and wine, and I worked out three times a week. I was the best version of myself,” she said, adding, “I was also hungry.”

It is so surprising to see that even a greaty beauty like Brooke Shields was no stranger to insecurities. While the world considered her beautiful, her own mother and other detractors tried to make her feel less than.

It is heartening to see that her husband countered her beliefs and reminded her of how beautiful she is; helping her accept her body for what it was.

Recently, the actress has opened about a sexual assault that she went through more than 30 years ago. In a recent interview with People, Shields revealed she was assaulted by a Hollywood executive shortly after graduating from Princeton University.

At the time she blamed herself, but as decades have gone by she’s had time to process what happened.“I’m more angry now than I was able to be then. If you’re afraid, you’re rightfully so. They are scary situations. They don’t have to be violent to be scary.”

This is the first time the model turned actress has revealed she was a victim of sexual assault because “People weren’t believing those stories back then. I thought I would never work again.”

Her story, which has sadly become too common in Hollywood, is told in more detail in a soon-to-be released two-part documentary, Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields.“Doing the documentary, you see it all together, and it’s a miracle that I survived,” Shields said.

After graduating from Princeton University, Shields found herself at the “lowest point” of her career. She met with an unnamed Hollywood executive for dinner who she believed would offer her a movie or a job, but after their meal he invited her to his hotel room.

He convinced her to go to his room under the guise of calling a cab from his room. But once there he sexually assaulted her.

“I didn’t fight,” she said. “I just froze.”

Shields felt incredibly guilty and blamed herself for the attack. “I kept saying, ‘I shouldn’t have done that. Why did I go up with him? I shouldn’t have had that drink at dinner.’ “

At the time Shields only told one person, her close friend and one-time security consultant Gavin de Becker. But now she’s ready to share her story “with the hopes of helping people not feel alone.”

“Everybody processes their own trauma on a different timeline. I want to be an advocate for women to be able to speak their truth.”
