According to a royal expert, the late Prince Philip had a rather pointed nickname for the Duchess of Sussex, and it wasn’t so kind.

The nickname suggested a comparison to Wallis Simpson, the controversial wife of the former King Edward VIII, drawing parallels between Meghan Markle and Wallis, both American and divorced when they married into the royal family.

Wallis Simpson, an American divorcée who became the Duchess of Windsor, was one of the most controversial royal figures in recent history after King Edward VIII decided to abdicate the throne in December 1936 (after less than a year as a monarch) to be able to marry her.

At the time, royals were prohibited from entering into a marriage with a divorced person – a rule that did not change until 2002, just three years before the then-Prince Charles married Camilla, per the Royal Observer.

Following King Edward and Wallis Simpson’s marriage, they were not allowed to return home without the permission of his brother, the new King George VI, as there were fears it could potentially cause public unrest, Vogue detailed.

During their years of exile, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor constantly attracted headlines – with one of their most shocking incidents occurring in 1937 when they visited Nazi Germany and were photographed giving the notorious Nazi salute upon meeting Adolf Hitler.

Prince Philip’s brutal nickname

Royal biographer Ingrid Seward shed light on Prince Philip’s perspective during an interview with GB News, suggesting that he thought Meghan and Wallis Simpson had many similarities, leading to the adoption of a discreet nickname for the Duchess of Sussex.

Allegedly Prince Philip, who Seward says was known for his astute judgment of character, couldn’t overlook the resemblances between Meghan and Prince Harry and Edward and Mrs. Simpson.

“I think that Prince Philip was very canny about people and he didn’t always see bad in people, he often tried to see the good in them,” Seward said.

“He just could not get away from the similarities between Meghan and Harry and Edward and Ms Simpson, which his why he used to call her the Duchess of Windsor. Not to her face though, he used to call her DOW,” she added.

In her book ‘My Mother and I‘, Seward delved further into Prince Philip’s reservations about Meghan, describing him as “wary” of the former Suits actress and her potential impact on the royal family.

While Prince Philip saw Meghan as potentially disruptive, Queen Elizabeth II held “high hopes” for her, indicating differing perspectives within the royal family regarding Meghan’s role and influence.

Since stepping back from their royal duties in 2020 and relocating to California, Meghan and Harry have maintained a relatively low profile within the royal sphere.

While Harry is set to visit the UK for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, with a service to be held at St. Paul’s Cathedral on May 8, according to the Daily Express. Meghan is expected to remain in the US, citing safety concerns and a desire to avoid stirring up controversy.

Despite occasional returns to the UK for significant events like Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022, Meghan has opted out of attending others, such as King Charles III’s coronation, which Harry attended alone last year.

When Kate Middleton underwent her abdominal surgery in January, it was initially believed was that she would be back to royal duty after Easter. However, everything changed in February when she received her cancer diagnosis, which was announced to the public in March.

King Charles and the Princess of Wales are both undergoing treatment for their respective diagnoses, though, when they will be back on royal duty is not yet known. Meanwhile, it has been reported that Kate still did some royal work from her hospital bed at the London Clinic. 

Although we don’t know when Kate Middleton will be back performing her royal duties, now, several weeks after her cancer diagnosis was first announced, one royal expert claims she could be back sooner than expected. It is undoubtedly leaving royal fans with a lot of hope.

On March 22, Kate Middleton revealed that she is undergoing “preventative chemotherapy.” The cancer diagnosis announcement, which was published as a video through the Prince and Princess of Wales’ social media channels, left many royal fans worldwide shocked.

Kate chose not to share what kind of cancer she is battling. However, as she underwent abdominal surgery in January, it could be a clue as to where it began.

“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team, therefore, advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” Kate Middleton said in the video, filmed in the garden at Windsor.

“This, of course, came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family. As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte, and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them and to reassure them that I am going to be ok.”

Since her abdominal surgery in mid-January, Kate Middleton has been absent from royal duties. As King Charles received his cancer diagnosis in January – and the Prince of Wales at first was expected to be back to royal duty after Easter – many believed she would be taking on a lot more responsibility together with Queen Camilla and her husband, Prince William.

Kate Middleton sent letter to grieving widow from her hospital bed

The private hospital in central London, just one hour’s car ride from Windsor, was opened by the then Duke and Duchess of York in 1932 and has become a hospital many celebrities have visited.

Kate Middleton isn’t the only royal family member to have been a patient there. In 1980, Princess Margaret was treated at the London Clinic to have a benign skin lesion removed, and in 2013, Prince Philip underwent what was described as an “abdominal investigation.”

Although Kate, of course, didn’t perform any royal engagements in public while recovering at the London Clinic, it’s reported that she didn’t entirely distance herself from her work.

In early February, Kate Garraway, whose husband, television host Derek Draper, passed away in January following complications from COVID-19, appeared on Good Morning Britain, revealing that members of the public, as well as Kate Middleton, had sent her a letter with condolences.

“And from the royal family — Catherine and William sent a beautiful letter, and I know Catherine has been in hospital herself,” Garraway said.

“Even the King — because there is somebody [who] knows about grief — that anticipatory grief where you know something has a risk of happening and how different it is when it does happen.”

Kate Garraway was not the only one receiving a letter from Kate Middleton during this time.

Kate sent royal fan ‘thank you’ note after surgery

On April 6, X user @AllemarieHoll1 left royal fans with melted hearts with a story of how she received a letter from Kensington Palace, the office of the Prince and Princess of Wales. In January, she and her family sent a card to Kate Middleton following her abdominal surgery and got a response.

“Back in January, when we were informed our beautiful Princess of Wales had undergone surgery, I sent her a card with our (my family and I) sincerest best wishes for healing and, of course, an abundance of love,” she wrote as reported by Express. “Today, I received this beautiful acknowledgment, and I can honestly say I shall treasure this my entire life.”

The thank you card to her and her husband had Kensington Palace printed at the top and stated, “Thank you for your kind well wishes to Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales. Your thoughtful gesture is very much appreciated.”

Moreover, the user joked that her husband thought they had been invited to a royal garden party.

“The envelope has Kensington Palace on the back lol hubby thought he was going to have to get his suit out for a garden party (silly him) but he is just as blown away as I am to received this beautiful, and much treasured card. Continued prayers and healing to our beautiful Princess of Wales,” X user @AllemarieHoll1 continued.

Royal fans quickly responded to the X user’s beautiful story, praising Kate Middleton for her response.

Both Kate Middleton and King Charles are receiving tremendous support from their royal family members while they are undergoing cancer treatment. Meanwhile, one royal expert claims that it isn’t the members of the loyal family whom she is leaning on for support but her parents and siblings.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, royal expert and author Katie Nicholl said that the Princess of Wales has turned to her family for love and support.

“She has a really tight group of friends and, particularly in Norfolk, really close friends there. But I think the real anchors in her life are her parents… and her brother James… and her sister Pippa,” she said.

“While you certainly don’t see them photographed together very often, they are very much there in the background. They are absolutely fundamental.”

Katie Nicholl continued by explaining that Kate Middleton’s parents felt “very relieved” that their daughter’s cancer was found in its early stages.

“Catherine is going to have the very best doctors in the world looking after her, so she’s in safe hands,” Katie Nicholl added. “Carol and Michael, they’ve always been an incredibly strong couple and also very down to earth… what they’ll be doing right now is they’ll be coming together and supporting her — and not just William and Kate, [but] their grandchildren, too.”

Carole and Michael Middleton didn’t share an official message after their daughter’s shocking cancer announcement in March. However, her brother, James, did. In an emotional post on Instagram, James Middleton shared his support for his sister, together with a picture of the two as kids.

“Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together. As a family, we will climb this one with you too,” James captioned the post.

Kate Middleton will most likely not be back on official royal duty for quite some time. However, it’s important to point out that we don’t know the exact details of her current health status.

Although we don’t know exactly what will happen in the coming months, positive updates are always appreciated. GB News royal correspondent Cameron Walker now claims that the Princess of Wales might be closer to reappearing in public than anyone could have expected, saying that she “might attend certain events” moving forward.

“Because of the princess’ cancer diagnosis, she is undergoing preventative chemotherapy at the moment. What I am hearing from those close to the princess is that she may well decide to attend certain events if she feels up to it and if she’s keen to go,” Cameron Walker said.

“But in terms of a return to full-scale public duties and as a full-time working royal, I suspect that’s some time to come yet. But perhaps, maybe we’ll see her at some point this summer.”

The royal expert concluded, “But it just honestly depends on how her treatment goes.”

After lots of discussion and tests, doctors advised Daniel Matt’s life-sustaining treatment should be stopped. They were convinced that there was nothing else to be done.

But Danielle refused to give up hope.

“We didn’t really even have a chance to start our life together, and I didn’t want to give up,” said Danielle.

Matt’s father died 2 years ago and his mother was too sick to take care of her son.

Danielle decided to bring Matt home and take care of him 24 hours a day. She gave up everything — just to take care of her husband.

Her refusal to give up hope would eventually be rewarded.

After 3 months in a coma, the impossible happened: Matt opened his eyes!

Danielle realized that he was trying to say something, but he couldn’t get the words out.

She kept asking him and suddenly she heard his husband burst out: “I’m trying!”

Danielle couldn’t believe it: “It was the most beautiful thing I have ever heard!”

But the journey back to a normal life was far from easy.

Matt fought every day to get better, step by step. He had to re-learn everything from the beginning, even talking, standing, and walking.

He still has trouble remembering things before the accident.

His relationship with Danielle, their wedding — everything was gone.

But Matt is 100 percent sure: “I’m glad I married Danielle!”. Without her unconditional love, he wouldn’t be alive today.

Today, Matt is feeling better and can live a normal life. He can walk, talk, and ride a bike — he even does yoga. Fantastic!

Daniel’s struggle for her husband’s life led to a miracle. Although the doctors had given up hope, Matt was fighting his own battle to come out of the coma.

Their story shows that true love can accomplish anything!

In a world that may seem dark, cold, and hopeless, there are stories like this that really warm my heart.

Partly because Danielle never stopped fighting for her husband and showed what true love is, and partly because Matt did everything to heal and get his life back when the odds were against him.

The iconic Top Gun movie catapulted Tom Cruise to stardom.

But the woman who starred as his love interest in the movie, Kelly McGillis, went down a wholly different path.

Today, it’s hard to recognize the 65-year-old actress – she’s faced a lot of age shaming over the last few years…

I don’t think I was the only one who couldn’t help but think of Kelly McGillis when I went to the cinema to watch Top Gun: Maverick, the sequel to the classic 80s film. I knew that she wouldn’t appear – but somehow, I still hoped that I would get to see her.

Obviously, McGillis never showed up, while Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer reunited in a very emotional scene. According to McGillis, she wasn’t asked to join the cast. In 2019, Entertainment Tonight wondered if the filmmakers of Top Gun: Maverick had offered her a role in the sequel.

“Oh my god no. They did not, nor do I think they would ever,” McGillis said,

“I mean, I’m old and I’m fat, and I look age-appropriate for what my age is, and that is not what that whole scene is about.”

However, the 65-year actress didn’t seem to care about being left out of Top Gun: Maverick, which became the smash blockbuster movie of 2022.

“I’d much rather feel absolutely secure in my skin and who and what I am at my age, as opposed to placing a value on all that other stuff,” she said.

The truth about her character in Top Gun

In the eighties, McGillis was one of only a handful of women who could command million-dollar fees. In Top Gun, the well-known actress starred as the astrophysicist and training school instructor Charlie Blackwood.

The blonde, long-legged, beautiful actress made a lasting impression as Maverick’s love interest – her brainy-but-gorgeous character became iconic.

“I don’t think anything prepared me for what I guess was becoming a household name kind of thing,” McGillis said told LA Times.

“It was really intimidating to me. I don’t aspire to be famous. I just aspire to be an actress, and that movie kind of startled my reality in a big way. I got very insecure. I didn’t know who I could trust to be my friend anymore.”

Charlie was actually based on another iconic person – Christine Fox. Fox was a famous civilian flight instructor and mathematician who the producers met while doing research for the movie.

She would later have an impressive career at the Pentagon – Fox became Acting Deputy Secretary of Defense, the highest post ever held by a woman at the Department of Defense.

How Kelly McGillis got the role of Charlie was a bit of a coincidence. She was scheduled to do another movie, but it fell through. Paramount called her and asked if she could do Top Gun instead, McGillis liked the script and then drove to San Diego for the production.

”I felt it was a Western in the sky. I had no clue how visually impeccable it would be. I think Tony Scott brought so much to that movie visually,” she said.

Her role in Top Gun turned McGillis into a sex symbol, but she was also hailed for her screen performance. The on-screen chemistry with Cruise was obvious, and Kelly really liked her co-star off-set as well.

”I think Tom is terrific. He’s the sweetest guy. He is very genuine and sincere and respectful. And I just loved working with Tom. I think he is wonderful,” she said.

At the time, McGillis was compared to great screen beauties like Grace Kelly, Ingrid Bergman and Lauren Bacall.

But Kelly could never take that comparison seriously.

”I have never thought of myself as a great beauty. In my teen-age and prepubescent years when one forms one’s ideas of oneself, I think primarily I was very over-weight and had a very low self-esteem,” she told Intelligencer Journal in 1986.

Turned her back on Hollywood

Although I and many others remember McGillis for her role as Charlie in Top Gun, it wouldn’t be fair to her to only talk about that movie – because she has done so much more in her life and career.

She stormed Hollywood in 1985 with her breakout role, portraying an Amish widow in Witness. After her success with Top Gun, she starred in the controversial film The Accused, playing a tough lawyer. McGillis was then cast in several television and film roles throughout the 1990s, but none of the films bolstered her career.

After that, the outspoken actress broke all the rules and turned her back on Tinseltown. She refused to do the scripts she was given, she cut her blonde hair, left Hollywood, had babies, and piled on the weight.

“I think just my priorities in life changed. It wasn’t like a major decision that I made to leave, it was just that other things became more important,” she told Entertainment Tonight.

After leaving Hollywood, she focused on her family and took time out to raise her now-grown daughters, Kelsey and Sonora.

Shortly after The Accused premiered, McGillis fell in love with Fred Tillman – a man that had no connection to show business. But Fred and Kelly shared the same interests; they liked sailing and beaches.

Kelly, who was born in 1957 and grew up with sand between her toes in Newport Beach, California, felt like she had found the man of her dreams.

McGillis and Tillman tied the knot, bought a yacht, and sailed to Europe.

The family then settled down in Key West, Florida, and opened a restaurant together, called Kelly’s Caribbean Bar & Grill.

But McGillis’ past always seemed to catch up on her. According to the Top Gun star, she didn’t go to Florida to escape – but she had a lot to deal with personally.

She drank too much, and was uncertain about her sexuality. For a year or so, she was a ”wreck.”

“I was never really unhappy. It is just that I wanted to reclaim my anonymity, to live my own life. I think that if you have children, it is you who should look after them. I didn’t want my kids to think of me as a movie star, I wanted them to know me as Mommy,” she told The Daily Telegraph in 1999.

Coming out

In 2002, McGillis divorced Tillman. Seven years later, she came out as a lesbian during an interview with SheWired. According to the actress, her coming out had been an ongoing process since she was 12.

“Life is a freaking journey, and it’s about growing and changing, and coming to terms with who and what you are, and loving who and what you are,” she said.

While McGillis was running her restaurant in Key West, she met bartender Melanie Leis. Sadly, their relationship was shaky and self-destructive; both had a problem with different substances and went into rehab. McGillis drank excessively.

Nevertheless, the partners in crime married in New Jersey in 2010. McGillis’s ex-husband, Fred Tillman, attended the civil union ceremony.

“He was my greatest, bestest friend, and he still is,” McGillis told Daily News, adding: ”I was gay before I had kids. I had a really tough time coming to accept myself.”

As of now, Kelly is said to be living in a log cabin in the hills in Hendersonville, North Carolina. She wears her gray hair short and prefers the comfort of pants – enjoying her quiet, happy, and content life far away from Hollywood.

“I am concentrating teaching acting privately in small studio that goes with a school in Asheville, North Carolina. I feel it is my time to give back and that’s something that I know how to do,” she said in 2014.

Looking at McGillis today, it sure looks like she has given up her own acting career. It was a while since we saw her on-screen – her latest credited project is from 2018, when she starred in the TV movie Maternal Secrets.

“You hear women of my age talk about this all the time,” she said. “I think this industry is not particularly kind to women who are over 50. I am not into the coloring of my hair, doing the Botox and getting a face lift. I want to grow up to be a character actress,” she said in 2013.

As mentioned, Kelly appeared in the news a lot in 2022. Because of her absence on Top Gun: Maverick, people wanted to know what happened to her and why she wasn’t cast in the sequel.

According to the director Joseph Kosinski, he wanted to take the film in a different direction with different characters – that’s why Kelly was left out. It had nothing to do with her appearance, according to Kosinski.

Kelly McGillis will always be the hot astrophysics engineer to those of us who were there to see her in all her glory. A woman like her, in a movie like the original Top Gun, is an act that can never be followed. Period.

It takes so much more grace and beauty to leave such an industry to care for herself and prioritize her family. That’s more impressive to me than anything.

Years after her split from pro-athlete Tom Brady, Bridget Moynahan is finally in a happy place when it comes to love.

Many of us will remember how, after two years together, Moynahan and Brady split – with Moynahan confirming shortly afterwards that she was three months pregnant with the couple’s child, who is now 16.

Journey as a single mother

Bridget Moynahan, 52, candidly shared her unexpected journey as a single mother in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar in 2008, confessing: “I never thought I would raise a child alone,” adding “and I want something equal to that in my life, as a partner, a lover, a friend.”

Finding out she was pregnant in the first place was not only a shock to the actress and former model, but it also presented a challenge for Moynahan, who says she believed in marriage before having children.

During the same Harper’s Bazaar interview, Moynahan said: “I’m a traditional girl, and I believe in marriage, and I always thought that’s the way I’d be doing this. For a moment, it was hard for me to accept that this was the way I was going to have a family.”

Relationship with Tom Brady

Moynahan’s relationship with former NFL star Tom Brady, which ended “amicably” in early December 2006, per People, took an unexpected turn when she discovered she was three months pregnant soon after their breakup.

Brady had moved on with supermodel Gisele Bündchen by then (whom he had reportedly met on a blind date the same month he split with Moynahan, according to WSJ Magazine) which only made the situation more complex.

Reflecting on the “traumatic” experience, Moynahan said that she was forced to go through a pregnancy and welcome a child amidst significant media attention, admitting: “I’m not sure anyone – and I could be wrong in this – grows up thinking, I want to be a single mom.”

While Moynahan was busy raising her son, Jack, Brady and Bündchen wed in February 2009, per Vogue France. Just 10 months later, they welcomed their first child, Benjamin. Then, they had a second child, Vivian, in December 2012. In 2022, after 13 years together, they unfortunately divorced.

Bündchen, in her memoir, acknowledged that the impending birth of Brady and Moynahan’s child was difficult for her as well, saying (via Us Weekly): “Two months into our relationship, Tom told me that his ex-girlfriend was pregnant. The very next day, the news was everywhere, and I felt my world got turned upside down.”

Eventually though, Moynahan found solace in her son, John “Jack” Edward Thomas, who was born in 2007.

Moynahan loves being a mom

Moynahan’s 2019 book, Our Shoes, Our Selves, detailed her struggles during that time, and she especially highlighting that she felt incredibly uncomfortable being in the public eye. “Having a baby should have been the most joyous time of my life, but instead, I felt assaulted,” she wrote.

Though, despite the challenges, she embraced motherhood, realizing it fulfilled her more than what her modeling and acting careers could.

Moynahan has expressed her love for being a mother numerous times, acknowledging the transformative impact it had on her life. “I have become that mother I used to dread. Every time he does something, you think he’s a genius. He’s a genius,” she gushed, per Harper’s Bazaar.

Meeting Andrew Frankel

Moynahan’s personal life took a positive turn when she met Andrew Frankel, 49, through mutual friends. The couple eventually got engaged in April 2015, and this resulted in a secret ceremony at Wolffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack, New York, in October that same year. The intimate reception celebrated their love, and instead of gifts, they encouraged donations to The Hole in Wall Gang Camp.

The actress reminisced about the dreamy wedding, expressing gratitude for the attention to detail in her dress and the overall celebration. There I was minding my own business this morning, when I stumbled upon a TikTok video by @huyameishuoche showing you all manner of nifty tricks to be found in your vehicle, quite simply at the push of a button.

Impressed as I was, there was one hack that I genuinely took seriously, one that has the undoubted potential to save lives. I didn’t know about it, so I’m guessing there are others out there who are in the same boat.

It’s with that in mind that I decided to share the information. Who knows, maybe you’ll end up in a situation in the future where it might save your life, though I sincerely hope the occasion never arises.

Now, the scenario in question revolves around you being trapped in your car – take, for example, if it’s submerged in water and you can’t get the doors open. A truly terrifying picture to paint in your mind, I know, which is why it’s crucial to know what to do.

She first instructs you to push the backseat down so that you can access the trunk area of the car (we’ll add here that we’re not against you just clambering over the seats like your life depends on it if you lack the finesse to stay calm).

In the trunk of the car, actually on the trunk door, you should find a “small black mechanism”. This, she terms, is the “life-saving switch”, and with just one click the trunk will swing up and open, thus allowing you to escape the car.

Needless to say, there are all manner of buttons and signals in my car that I’ve never dared to press, never thought to investigate. This one, though, seems like it’s worth the time to at least become familiar with.

Check to see if your car has one, especially if you live or regularly drive by a body of water.

Two teenage boys were walking through their local area when they noticed a crowd of people huddled around a car.

As they got closer they tried to make out what the crowd was looking at, but it was the strangest site.

A creature was just frozen, unable to move.

The boys knew they had to act quickly if this animal was to survive but they had no idea how to help the poor critter.

It was in the Canadian town of Saint Andrews in New Brunswick that friends Jaydon Pettipas and Aidan Hart made the unusual discovery, reports news channel CBC in Canada.

The two teenage boys would be hailed as heroes for their actions before the end of the day.

When they noticed a group of people huddled around they had to see what had caused them to stop and stare. But even close up they weren’t sure what they were looking at.

The animal was barely recognizable and looked like it was frozen solid.

A squirrel was trapped under a car and covered in insulation foam. They knew it didn’t have long left to live.

“There was nothing recognizable about it,” 15-year-old Jaydon told CBC Canada.

The boys knew the squirrel needed help but wasn’t sure how to get that help so they went inside a grocery store and grabbed a small milk crate to house the squirrel.

Nobody around the boys knew what to do either and as time passed, the emergency got greater.

The boys made calls to friends and family asking for help.

Then Jaydon’s mom stepped in and contacted a veterinary clinic 20 miles away and was told to bring the animal in immediately.

“I had never seen anything like this before,” Dr. Melanie Eagan, from St. George Veterinary Clinic said.

She said the squirrel was so encrusted in the insulation foam, it could only move its back legs slightly.

If the boys had not acted so quickly and the boys’ mother hadn’t helped them to bring the squirrel in, then it may not have survived.

The veterinarian suspected that the animal may have been living in someone’s garage, basement or shed and got caught in the material.

‘Become in distress’

“Someone was probably patching up a hole trying to keep a draft out and this little guy ran through it when it was still wet,” she said. “But that stuff hardens pretty quickly so it wouldn’t have taken long for him to become in distress.”

She said it took time, patience and rubbing alcohol to loosen the foam from the animal’s fur. She then combed it out, causing the animal to lose some of its fur.

I love animals, and I can say with certainty that being chained up in the back of a pickup truck is no a place for an animal, especially not a full-grown mountain lion.

But that was exactly where a mountain lion named Mufasa was forced to live.

He belonged to a traveling circus in Peru and his life was made a living hell — all so people could be entertained and his owner could make money off of him.

Even today, many animals are still abused and neglected in circuses, zoos, and shows. In recent years, the situation for many animals has improved, but we still have a long way to go.

Because thousands of poor animals are still forced to live in tight spaces and don’t get the chance to live the lives they deserve.

The mountain lion Mufasa was found chained up on the of a pickup truck in Peru. He had lived there for 20 years, forced into a life he neither wanted nor deserved.

Luck came to Mufasa late in life, but thankfully, it did come. In 2015, the animal rights organization Animal Defenders International was able to get him released after several months of hard work. The organization found him when they it trying to shut down a whole Peruvian circus.

Experiencing freedom made a significant difference in Mufasa’s well-being. Instead of enduring a life filled with anxiety and oppression, he was granted the fundamental right that all wild animals deserve — to spend his final years in the embrace of nature, living on his own terms.

Mufasa’s rescue story is beautiful, and the video below shows his first step in freedom. It’s amazingly nice!

After being rescued from the circus, Mufasa had a few months of freedom before his health began to decline.

Being chained to the back of a pick-up truck for 20 years had taken its toll, leading to kidney failure and other age-related issues. He passed away in 2015, according to Animal Defenders International.

But his story continues to shed light on an important issue.

Mufasa was a magnificent, gentle creature who found joy in receiving back scratches. While it is saddening that he couldn’t enjoy more time in his natural habitat in the Amazon, it would have been a greater tragedy if he had never experienced freedom at all.

A family is mourning the death of a 26-year-old mom who was tragically struck by a car when an alleged road rage incident turned deadly.

The suspect claims he felt threatened and thought people were “trying to kill” him. But surveillance footage shows Ryan Sweatt as the threat who intentionally struck the victim with his car, the impact so severe it tossed Destini Decoff into the air, ripping the clothes from her body.

“Today my biggest fear as a mother became my reality,” her mother writes in an emotional Facebook post, adding she hopes the accused “burns directly in hell.” Keep reading to learn more about this tragic incident.

On April 4, Destini Decoff – the mom to Zaedan, seven – was traveling in a vehicle with four men on a highway in Hopkinton, about an hour west of Boston, Massachusetts.

Ryan Sweatt, who was operating the other vehicle, told police he had left work and was driving home to Milford when the car – carrying Decoff and her friends – pulled in front of him, its driver slamming on the brakes.

According to a statement released by the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office, “[Sweatt] became engaged in an apparent road rage incident with another vehicle. At some point, some of the occupants of the other vehicle, including the victim, exited the car. Sweatt subsequently made a U-turn at a high rate of speed and struck the victim in the roadway.”

Her jacket was ’20 feet’ away

Brett Martin, a witness who saw the horrific incident as it played out, told police Sweatt targetted the 26-year-old woman.

“He turned around multiple times and he coulda just kept going. He could have kept going. He chose to turn around, chose to come back. He knew what he was doing when he went towards that girl.”

Describing the force of the strike, Martin continued, “I didn’t see her go up in the air. But I saw her come down, hit the pavement. It wasn’t good from there…I saw her mid-air kind of coming down towards the street, her jacket must’ve been 20 feet away from her. However she got hit, those clothes flew off.”

Sweatt, who tried to flee, was stopped by police.

“They’re trying to kill me,” Sweatt, 36, told police while pointing toward a group of people standing on the road around Decoff, who was lying in a pool of blood.

Meanwhile, the young mother was rushed to hospital suffering from a brain bleed, collapsed lungs, and fractures to her shoulder, tibia and ribs. She also had an emergency operation to remove her spleen and part of her skull to relieve pressure from the brain bleed.

‘A cry for help’

Sweatt’s Facebook page is filled with messages suggesting depression and self harm. His last post, March 2023, read, “Honestly, what is so wrong about me? Clearly something is wrong but I can’t see it. I can’t fix what I don’t know is broken.”

The year before, he re-shared a post he originally wrote in August 2014, “Suicide, a crime of loneliness.”

Following the death of Decoff, netizens are flocking to his Facebook page, leaving messages to the man accused of killing an innocent woman.

“A cry for help. Mental Health should not be ignored especially by the person experiencing it,” one Facebook user wrote on his page, after the death of Decoff.

Another shared, “You had a choice to just drive away.”

‘Hit my daughter head-on’

Unfortunately, Sweatt did not drive away.

Decoff’s mother, Tracy, shared on Facebook what she saw on the surveillance video.

“She was in the car with friends when the car behind them was riding their bumper. Car pulled over they got out of the vehicle & that car tried to run them over,” Tracy wrote from her daughter’s bedside in the hospital. “They made it the first time then the car turned around again & hit my daughter head-on, throwing her in the air. That car then took off with my baby laying there & the police got him.”

Tracy added, “I have been talking to her because I feel in my heart she can hear me. I’ve only tried holding her hand because she is hurt everywhere…”

But the young woman never regained consciousness and she was removed from life support on April 6.

Hospital staff printed Decoff’s last heartbeats along with her handprints and gave them to the grieving mom, who wrote, “I will treasure these forever.”

Sweatt was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, operating to endanger and a marked lanes violation.

He denied the charges when he appeared in court on April 5 and was remanded in custody pending a dangerousness hearing on Wednesday.

“Today my biggest fear as a mother became my reality. My first born child & best friend is no longer with me…go spread those beautiful wings & fly without pain & suffering,” Tracy, who next vows to get justice, shared. “With every ounce of my being I hope that mf burns directly in hell! I promise you with every ounce of my being I will get justice for you regardless of what it takes!”

Friends of the family organized a GoFundMe, “asking for help with the cost of her final arrangements.” The campaign, as of Tuesday, has raised almost $15,000 of its $20,000 goal.

The death of a spouse is one of the hardest things you can deal with in life, especially when they pass away relatively young.

John Travolta and his family have been through a couple of very tough years. In 2020, his wife and mother to the couple’s children, Kelly Preston, passed away from breast cancer.

Through the years, Travolta evolved into one of the greatest actors of the century. Along the way, he met the love of his life, and together they created a wonderful family.

In 1992, following a proposal at the Palace Hotel restaurant in Gstaad, Switzerland the year before, John Travolta married Kelly Preston.

The couple tied the knot on September 5, 1991, in a secret ceremony at the Hotel de Crillon in Paris.

Kelly was born on October 13, 1962 in Honolulu, Hawaii, and like John, she worked in the film industry. She studied acting at the University of Southern California, and in 1985, she started her acting career, appearing in several major movies such as Mischief, Twins, Jerry Maguire, and For Love of the Game.

Preston had some minor television roles during the course of her career as well. In 2018, she starred in the film Gotti, which would be her final film role. In July 2020, Kelly died after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

She was 57.

“On the morning of July 12, 2020, Kelly Preston, adored wife, and mother, passed away following a two-year battle with breast cancer,” a family representative told People at the time.

“She was a bright, beautiful, and loving soul who cared deeply about others and who brought life to everything she touched. Her family asks for your understanding of their need for privacy at this time.”

It turned out that Kelly had kept her diagnosis private. Speaking on the British talk show Loose Woman, her co-star in Off the Rails – which was her last film role – Sally Phillips, said that they didn’t know anything while filming.

“That’s what people do—they go through it on their own because of worries about insurance for the film, and working again afterward,” Phillips said, as reported by the Mirror.

“We’ve had a couple of high profile examples of that recently, haven’t we? Chadwick [Boseman] and Helen McCrory didn’t tell anyone,” she added.

“She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many,” Travolta wrote. “Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered.”

John Travolta wrote on Instagram: “My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side. Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered.”

In the same post, Travolta said he would be taking time to be with his family during the mourning process, particularly his children, 22-year-old  Ella and 11-year-old Ben. His first child with Kelly Preston, Jett, died of a seizure at 16.

Travolta and Preston were married for 19 years before her death and had three children together. Less than a year after her death, it’s very understandable that he would not be ready to move on so soon.

John Travolta new girlfriend

For his part, Travolta isn’t ready to start seeing anyone quite yet.

“John’s had no shortage of friends wanting to set him up and there are a lot of women who would love to go out with him,” an insider told OK! Magazine.

“John is flattered, but he just isn’t interested.

“No one wants to push him because they understand he’s torn between opening himself up to love again and staying single and being the best father he can be. Until John can figure things out, everyone is giving him the space he needs.”

While maintaining a low profile, Travolta opened up about his grieving process in an interview with Esquire Mexico.

“I have learned that mourning someone, mourning, is personal,” Travolta told the magazine. “Mourning is individual and only your own journey can heal you.”

“This is different from someone else’s journey. The most important thing you can do to help another when they are in mourning is to allow them to live it and not complicate it with yours. That’s my experience.”

Travolta is no stranger to grief. In 2009, he suffered an even more tragic death in the family: Jett, his oldest child with Preston, died of a seizure at the age of 16.

Jett was autistic and suffered from Kawasaki disease, and was prone to seizures. His son’s death devastated Travolta.

Life after Kelly

Today, three years after Kelly’s death, Travolta focuses on his family and being a father. After his wife’s passing, Travolta said he would be taking time from his career to focus on family, and he’s kept true to his word.

One of his most prominent on-screen role in the past year was a Super Bowl commercial, which also starred his daughter Ella. The ad gave Travolta a chance to bust out some of his famous dance moves, and have some fun with his family.

For Ella Bleu, losing her mother was heartwrenching, as it would be for everyone. However, she’s been following in her father’s footsteps in the acting business, and her father has been very supportive over the years.

When Ella, 22, landed a role in a reimagining of Alice in Wonderland named Get Lost, John Travolta bragged about his lovely daughter. Through Instagram, he shared a picture of her daughter dressed as Alice in Wonderland.

“I’m a very proud dad!,” he wrote in the caption.

The 68-year-old single dad also often posts pictures of his blonde-haired son Ben, 11. On Father’s day, the Saturday Night Fever star shared his feeling about being a dad.

’”It’s privilege to be a father. I love you my babies. Happy Father’s Day to everyone,” he wrote alongside photos of his children.

Travolta said that he’s looking to help his kids as much as he can.

“I will ensure the future of my children, help them with what they want to do with their lives,” Travolta said.

“The legacy is created by all the people who have loved and helped me over the years,” he told Esquire. “Life is movement and a journey; what you leave behind in people, I guess that’s your legacy.”

Airport mansion

Recently, John Travolta decided to sell his family vacation home in Maine, where he, the children, and Kelly spent a lot of time together.

Travolta bought the Maine estate in 1991, after his wedding to Kelly. The 10,000-square-foot property went on the market in 2021 for $5 million. It was built in 1903, and the remarkable home includes 20 bedrooms, a beach and open ocean access, and an in-ground pool.

But apparently,  the price tag proved to be too pricey but it’s clear that Travolta wants to let go of their vacation home. In 2022, it went on the market again.

Today, it looks like The Pulp Fiction star spends the majority of his time at his home in Florida. The most famous and spectacular estate owned by Travolta is located in Ocala, Florida. The 550-acre property, with six bedrooms, comes with some very special features – two aircraft runways that lead directly to his front door.

Travolta, a flight enthusiast and certified pilot with the license to fly a 737 airplane, was one of the first to purchase land in the exclusive gated community in 2001.

“We designed the house for the jets and to have at our access the world at a moment’s notice, and we succeeded at that. I was five years old when I fell in love with aviation. This is in my blood”, John Travolta told Australia’s Today.

This summer, he shared a glimpse of his family life as he went globe-trotting with Ella and Ben.

The question is, how long Travolta will keep his beloved aircraft estate, which also includes a banquet hall with seating for up to 400 guests. In 2019, it went on the market for $10.5 million.

We’re so sorry for everything the Travolta family has been through lately, but we’re glad John is doing well and has found some peace in the mourning process.
