Children do not always understand the repercussions of following trends they discover online, not knowing that sometimes they can actually be deadly.
This family is undergoing the most heartbreaking tragedy because of something that happened to their little boy. Now they are warning others. Keep reading to know more…
An 11-year-old boy is being mourned by his family after passing away in connection with a terribly dangerous trend on social media. Now, the family wants to warn others and urge parents to talk to their children so that no one else falls victim to the same thing.
A worrying trend among young people on TikTok led to the death of 11-year-old Tommie-Lee Billington from Lancaster, England.
This comes after two teenage girls also lost their lives when participating in the same “challenge” on the app, reports The Sun.
It all started when 11-year-old Tommie was at a friend’s house for a sleepover on Saturday. The boys then “huffed” after seeing a challenge on the TikTok app.
This involves inhaling dangerous gases or solvents that cause a high. Examples include dry shampoo, spray deodorant, and glue.
After Tommie and his friend decided to participate in the trend on TikTok, the boy’s heart stopped immediately. According to medical staff, he died instantly. Now, the family is mourning the tragic passing of the 11-year-old.
His mother, Sherry, has urged other parents to talk to their children and stop their children from using TikTok. She took her plea to Facebook, writing, “This cost my son his life from trying something other kids are doing. Please talk to your children about the consequences of this. It is beyond me why anyone would even try this! It’s so dangerous!”
“I have never felt pain like this. My whirlwind. I just love you so much mate. My baby boy. You will forever be in my heart. I will make sure to the best of my ability that your name and your beautiful face will become the reason that other children’s lives will be saved and other families don’t have to suffer this deep, deep hurt,” she writes on her Facebook page.
The newspaper cites royal expert and former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown as having put forward the idea that the Prince and Princess of Wales are perhaps not as enthused by the notion of ascending the throne just now as some people might believe.
Following King Charles’ shock cancer diagnosis back in January, William has been forced to step into his father’s role. Kate, meanwhile, will take on a more active hand in things once she is well enough to do so.
And while one might rightly assume that William has been groomed for the position of King ever since he was born, it would appear that the prospect is giving him cause for concern.
As per The Independent, Tina Brown said: “News of Charles’s cancer has put William and Catherine in frightening proximity to ascending the throne … The prospect of it, I am told, is causing them intense anxiety.”
Charles himself only took over from the late Queen Elizabeth in 2022 (having waited longer than any other heir apparent in British history), but released a statement in late January 2024 confirming that he had been diagnosed with cancer following a routine operation on an enlarged prostate.
Since then the King has been traveling back and forth between London and the royal estate of Sandringham, alternating between cancer treatment (which he receives in the capital) and time for rest and recovery.
Yet word of his sickness – and all that it might mean – was largely overshadowed by the mysterious circumstances regarding Kate Middleton after her “planned abdominal procedure”, which also took place in January.
Following almost three months of conjecture and intense speculation, the Princess of Wales too admitted that she had been diagnosed with cancer, much to the shock of royal fans around the world.
In the wake of the respective health issues experienced by Charles and Kate, the likes of Queen Camilla and Prince William have been forced to take on more responsibility with regards to their roles within the royal setup.
Reports have implied that the situation is taking a toll on Prince William, who is obviously of a mind to prioritize caring for his wife. Yet depending on how things go for King Charles, the Prince of Wales may be thrust into an even more central role sooner rather than later.
As for Kate, she’s expected to return to engagements when she’s feeling up to it. Kensington Palace initially proposed a timeline that said the Princess would be back in action after Easter, but that was long before it was announced that she was suffering from cancer.
Cole Brings Plenty, a beloved actor known for his roles in the classic Westerns “Into the Wild Frontier,” and “The Tall Tales of Jim Bridger” has died. His untimely demise has sent shockwaves through the entertainment community and among fans worldwide.
The news of his passing was released to the public through a statement by the Kansas Sheriff’s Office. The press release, dated April 5, 2024, stated that the deputies were dispatched to the area of 200th and Homestead Lane about an unoccupied vehicle. It said in part:
The male was then identified as Cole, 27. At the time of the press release, crime scene investigators and the medical examiner were on the scene.
Amidst the sorrow of this discovery, Cole’s dad, and his family shared their own heartfelt message, expressing their profound loss and gratitude towards the community’s support. The statement posted on Cole’s uncle, Mo Brings Plenty’s Instagram, began, “I am deeply saddened to confirm that my son, Cole, has been found and is no longer with us.”
The post went on to thank everyone for their prayers and positive thoughts sent to Cole. They then appreciated all those who participated and provided resources for the search for Cole.
In the days leading up to his tragic disappearance, an incident raised concerns and initiated a search that would end in heartbreak. On April 2, the Lawrence Kansas Police Department(LKPD) issued a statement regarding an incident involving Cole.
According to the LKPD, an affidavit was submitted to the District Attorney seeking Cole’s arrest following an incident reportedly related to domestic violence at a Lawrence apartment early Sunday morning.
Despite calls of a female screaming for help, Cole reportedly fled the scene before law enforcement officers arrived. Identified as the suspect, and based on probable cause, an alert for his arrest was issued. Surveillance footage captured him leaving the city shortly after the incident, heading south on Highway 59.
This post restricted the disclosure of further information to protect the victim’s privacy. Still, in the wake of these events, Cole’s family reached out to the police, shared their concerns, and reported him as missing. The poster revealed that Cole had missed an appointment with an agent for a TV show, which was “uncharacteristic for him.”
It went on to describe him as a 5’10” male with long black hair and brown eyes and weighing between 145 and 150 pounds. He was a student at Haskell Indian Nations University and was taking acting classes and working with his acting coach whenever time allowed.
“He is responsible and diligent in all his undertakings: he is never late, always well-prepared, does not reschedule, and has never been a no-show. That is the kind of character Cole has,” said part of the description of Cole in the missing person’s poster.
The poster went on to describe Cole as someone who would always answer his calls and messages. It thus became a cause for concern for the family when they kept trying to establish contact with him and discovered that his phone was off.

They were concerned for his safety and well-being. “Cole’s sudden disappearance without telling anyone his whereabouts is anomalous, causing a wave of concern spreading rapidly across the nation and parts of Canada,” the statement read in part.
But even as the event of his disappearance unfolded, the family cautioned the public against making assumptions about the situation without verified information. They stated that they did not know for a fact that Cole was involved in the incident he was alleged to have been a part of.

There was also no way of telling if he was the one behind the wheel of his 2005 Ford Explorer when it was seen leaving Lawrence. Still, they claimed to know for a fact that Cole could not go “on the run” in any situation as it was not in his character. They urged everyone to “prioritize facts, respect due process, and uphold the principles of fairness and justice for all involved.”
Now, in the wake of the devastating news, his family asks for privacy to mourn and honor his memory in peace. And as we reflect on the legacy the “1923” star leaves behind, his remarkable contributions to the world of classic Westerns continue to showcase his exceptional talent and the indelible mark on the hearts of fans and colleagues alike.

In 2010, Sandra Bullock received a phone call that changed her life forever.“Your placement is here,” said the voice on the other end.
A few weeks later, she was on a stage, accepting her first Oscar for her appearance in The Blind Side, but she didn’t care she was there.“All I wanted was to go was just go home and feed Lou” she said of her newborn, whom she had been waiting for years to arrive.
Keep reading to learn more about this incredible actor and what inspired her to adopt two children!
In 2005, after Hurricane Katrina devastated Louisiana by flooding its grounds, Sandra Bullock had a feeling that inspired her decision to adopt a child.
“Katrina happened in New Orleans, and something told me, ‘My child is there.’ It was weird,” Bullock said in an interview with Today’sHoda Kotb.
Years later, in January 2010, Bullock received the call she had been waiting years to receive.
“He was unexpected, he was not planned. I got a call one day, ‘Your placement is here,’ and that’s after years after having filed it, years,” the 59-year-old star of Speed tells CBS News.
Little Lou
Gushing over Louis Bardo Bullock, the three-month-old boy from New Orleans she secretly adopted in 2010, Bullock said, “I looked at him like, ‘Oh, there you are.’ It was like he had always been there,” she recalled. “He fit in the crook of my arm. He looked me in the eyes. He was wise. My child was wise.”
The Miss Congeniality star adds, “The beautiful thing that I was constantly told was, ‘The perfect child will find you. You will find your child.’ But you don’t believe that when it’s not happening. When you’re going, ‘Where is my family?’ When it does happen, you know exactly what they’re talking about.”
Weeks after Lou arrived, Bullock was on stage at the Kodiak Theatre, accepting her first Oscar for her starring role in the film, The Blind Side.
But Lou owned her center stage and she wanted to be at home, with him.
“All I kept thinking about was, ‘He’s at home.’ Like, I didn’t care. I didn’t care that I was there, I just wanted to go home. And then I was sewn in the dress. I was sewn in the dress, and I had to get myself out of the dress, but all I wanted to do was just go home and feed Lou.”
Only days after, her marriage to reality star Jesse James came crashing down and Bullock became a single mother to an infant.
Bullock said, “I mean, so much had happened. How do you process grief and not hurt your child in the process? It’s a newborn, they take on everything that you’re feeling. So, my obligation was to [Lou] and not tainting the first year of his life with my grief.”
‘Louis’ got the stage’
“No one understands the shift in priorities about having a child in your life … until you have a child in your life,” Bullock said of shifting her focus from career to mom. “It naturally shifts…he showed up and now, Louis’ got the stage.”
Growing up in a healthy, happy environment, little Lou one day looked up at mom and predicted “I’m going to have a baby soon.”
Though Bullock admits she wasn’t planning on growing her family, she listened to her son, who planted the seed.
“I realized at that time, maybe he knew something. And when I think about it, it would have been around the time that Laila was born,” Bullock said. “It’s Louis’ way. Louis has a very strong way. He’s a fine leader, and he led me to Lai.”
Laila, who was living in foster care in Louisiana, is her daughter who joined the family in 2015 when she was three.
Recalling Laila’s trauma from being in childcare, the Ocean’s 8 star said, “She’d be in the closet with all her clothes on, she’d be on a bookshelf, she’d be hiding, she’d always be ready to leave,” the actress recalled of her daughter, adding that she always made sure Laila knew that she wasn’t “going anywhere.”
She then shared a conversation she had about Laila with Bryan Randall, the father figure to her children, and her partner from 2015 until ALS claimed his life in 2023. She said, “My partner said to me, ‘When she’s been with us longer than she hasn’t been, I have a feeling we’re going to see a change.’”
He was right. Recently, Bullock described Laila as “unafraid.”
“She’s a fighter, and that’s the reason she’s here today. She fought to keep her spirit intact. Oh my God, what she is going to accomplish. She’s going to bring some real change.”
Lou, now 13, “is super sensitive…He’s wise and kind,” the Bird Box star tells People. “I saw that when they handed him to me. There was a spiritual bigness to him.”
Though fans will be disappointed, the versatile actor is scaling back her work schedule to again be a single mother.
Bullock last appeared in 2022’s The Lost City with Channing Tatum and Bullet Train with Brad Pitt.
“I can be creative, I can be part of a community, but right now, work in front of the camera needs to take a pause,” she said.
It’s been more than seven years since Robin Williams’s tragic passing, but the larger-than-life comedian’s spirit and legacy carry on in our hearts.
Williams’s death rocked the whole world; many believed that depression and drug abuse were behind his decision to end his life.
But, in fact, it turns out there was something else entirely behind Robin Williams’s tragic death. That’s why Robin’s widow, Susan Schneider Williams, decided to reveal the truth about what really killed her husband.
The world lost one of the greatest comic minds in 2014 when iconic funnyman Robin Williams died. Robin had a reputation for being a genuinely lovely person, a family man, and an all-around funny guy. Fans worldwide revered his talent through his classic roles in films like Good Morning Vietnam, Mrs. Doubtfire and Aladdin.
Those who knew him in real life saw that he was just as funny off-camera—and that he could use his gift to bring joy to people when they needed him most.
Marriages and kids
The beloved actor was married three times and had three kids.
Williams met his first wife, Valeria Velardi, in June 1976. Back then, Williams wasn’t famous, and worked as a simple bartender in San Francisco.
“He was bartending. He had a French accent, offered me a drink, chatted me up and was absolutely delightful,” Valeria said in 2018.
“He asked me for a ride home. He was speaking French and I was teasing him and we had a kiss. And I just knew I was going to see him again”.
The couple tied the knot in 1978, and welcomed a son, Zack, in 1983.
In 1988, Williams and Valeria separated. There were rumors that the actor had an affair with his son’s nanny, Marsha Garces – but Valeria has since denied this. That said, following the divorce, Williams married Marsha.
In 1989, the couple walked down the aisle while she was pregnant.
Robin and Marsha had two kids together, Zelda (born in 1989) and Cody (born in 1991). Unfortunately, Robin’s second marriage was also destined to end badly. After citing irreconcilable differences, Marsha filed for divorce in 2008.
Robin Williams & Susan Schneider
Then, three years after his second divorce, Robin met his soulmate, Susan Schneider. She first saw the famous comedian at a local Apple store in late 2007, where they shared a short conversation.
“I walked in and saw this man and I thought: ‘I think that’s Robin Williams. ‘ Then on my way out I happened to look at him again and he was smiling at me and something inside me said: ‘Oh, just go over and say hi’, Susan said.
They tied the knot in 2011. The ceremony was held at the Meadowood luxury resort in Napa Valley, California.
Around 120 guests were invited to the modest wedding – mostly family, close friends, and neighbors.
Robin and Susan had a strong picture of how they wanted their special day to be. No big stars were present, and it was a far cry from the flashiness and glamour one might usually associate with celebrity weddings in Hollywood.
Robin and Susan also created their own vows. Robin made sure that his brother and mother – who had passed away by this point – were honored during the ceremony. The actor asked that the Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi be read aloud by the minister.
”The wedding day was very beautiful – they were very much in love and very quiet. Both Robin and Susan were very actively involved with the preparation of the ceremony,” the minister who married the lovebirds told Daily Mail in 2014.
Robin and Susan lived in the exclusive Sea Cliff neighborhood of San Francisco Bay. The Mediterranean contemporary style 7,170-square-foot house had a magnificent view of the water, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the Marin Headlands.
From the outside, it looked like Robin and Susan were very happy and had everything – but today, we know that their relationship was tested as Robin wrestled with his inner demons.
His declining health also affected his professional career. For example, Williams had trouble memorizing single lines while filming Night at the Museum 3, his final on-screen film appearance in 2014. Robin, known for memorizing hundreds of lines and delivering outstanding performances, didn’t understand why he suddenly couldn’t learn simple lines.
“Robin was losing his mind and he was aware of it,” Schneider Williams explained in 2016.
“Can you imagine the pain he felt as he experienced himself disintegrating? And not from something he would ever know the name of, or understand? Neither he, nor anyone could stop it – no amount of intelligence or love could hold it back.”
Though Robin had his issues, Susan was always there for her husband, and the couple were very open with each other. They often discussed their successes, setbacks, and biggest fears; their friendship and love grew stronger with each passing year.
Unfortunately, Susan did not have all the facts on the table, and did not fully understand why her soulmate was struggling. In many ways, Susan was powerless, but during Robin’s last months, the couple still managed to share some bright and beautiful moments.
Shortly before his passing, the struggling actor was misdiagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, which led to more questions, frustration, and dark thoughts circling in Robin’s head.
Doctors had given Robin just three years to live.
“What he was going through didn’t match one to one [with] many Parkinson’s patient’s experiences. So, I think that was hard for him,” Robin Williams’ son Zak said in Max Lugavere’s “The Genius Life” podcast.
“There was a focus issue that frustrated him; there were issues associated with how he felt, and also from a neurological perspective, he didn’t feel great. He was very uncomfortable.”
It wasn’t until after his death that the whole truth would emerge, and the world got to glimpse what Robin was battling. Three months after the legendary comedian passed, the coroner’s report was released.
The report showed that Robin had long struggled with a form of dementia called Lewy body dementia before he passed in August 2014.
In her first interview since her husband passed, Robin’s widow decided to speak up and tell the public about what really killed her husband.
“Lewy body dementia killed Robin. It’s what what took his life. Depression was a small piece of the pie of what was going on… really, what was overriding that more than depression was anxiety. And the anxiety was huge,” she said.
Doctors described how the late actor must have been going through hell during the last months of his life. His form of Lewy body dementia was one of the most devastating cases doctors had ever seen.
“Lewy body dementia is a devastating illness. It’s a killer. It is fast, it’s progressive,” Dr. Bruce Miller, director Memory and Aging at the University of California San Francisco, told Today.
When she finally learned about her husband’s condition, Susan was able to put together many missing pieces and better understand why Robin acted as he did.
“I was relieved it had a name. Robin and I had gone through this experience together, really being chased by an invisible monster. And it was like whack-a-mole with the symptoms. I left there with a name of the disease, the thing that Robin and I had been searching for,” she said.
Robin Williams cause of death
On August 11, 2014, Robin Williams was found dead in his bedroom at his house in Paradise Cay, California. The cause of death was asphyxia by hanging, according to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office.
In 2015, tears flooded down Susan’s cheeks as she recalled her last conversation with her husband during an emotional interview.
A week before his death, Robin planned to check into a facility for neurocognitive testing.
On the evening before his death, Robin asked Susan if she wanted a foot massage. Susan, of course, couldn’t have anticipated what was about to happen and declined the offer.
She’ll never forget his gaze and sad eyes.
Then he left. He came back into the room a couple of times and said, “Good night, my love,” to which Susan replied, “Good night, my love.”
They were his last words to her, and her last to him.
In later interviews, Susan explained that she has forgiven Robin and doesn’t blame him for ending his life. She knew he didn’t have that many years left, and that those would have been hard years.
When first responders arrived at the house and tried to save her husband that dreadful day, she was there by his side.
“And I just wanted to see my husband. And I got to see him … and I got to pray with him. And I got to tell him, ‘I forgive you 50 billion percent, with all my heart. You’re the bravest man I’ve ever known.’ You know, we were living a nightmare,” Susan said.
Robin Williams funeral
It’s unclear if Robin’s family held a private funeral for him, but we do know that his body was cremated at Monte’s Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo.
On August 21, his ashes were scattered over San Francisco Bay. The actor had lived in the area for almost 50 years and loved the place; it was there he felt most at peace.

With his death, Toby Keith leaves his incredible legacy in the hands of his grieving family, who have asked the public to respect their privacy during this significantly painful time
As previously reported on June 8, 2023:
Country star Toby Keith worried his fans when he announced that he was taking a break from music to deal with his stomach cancer diagnosis in June 2022. The singer said he was undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery and needed time to rest. Keith explained that he would use this time to get back on his feet and spend time with his family.

In December 2022, Keith made his first public appearance since announcing his diagnosis. The country star was positive that he would be back on stage soon.
However, he admitted that his body was strained.”It is pretty debilitating to have to go through all that, but as long as everything stays hunky-dory, then we will look at something good in the future,” he said. The “Red Solo Cup” singer shared a picture promoting children’s health on his Instagram, which concerned fans due to his appearance.
The singer had evidently lost weight, and many were worried about his cancer battle. Some found the weight loss concerning, while others thought Keith looked good. One person said, “You have lost so much weight. Prayers for you dear Toby.”
Another expressed, “Please tell me Toby is ok? This picture is most disturbing.” Someone else stated, “So thin. I hope you are getting better.” Another social media user commented, “Wow he’s lost a lot of weight. But still looks great. Keep fighting my friend.” Most commenters saw the drastic change in Keith’s appearance as worrying and reckoned that the stomach cancer was taking a toll on his body.
Some could not even bear the singer’s sight and wanted reassurance that he was fine. Nonetheless, his supporters kept him in their prayers and encouraged him to fight. “Omg, I just saw this. He looks nothing like he once did. Ripping my heart out. I pray he pulls through this,”wrote a worried user.
To see Keith still smiling and doing his charitable work gave many fans hope that he would defeat cancer, even though it was so scary to see him in his new body that fans thought it was “disturbing.”
Kate Middleton is keeping herself far away from public life as she continues her cancer treatment. The Princess of Wales announced the cancer diagnosis on March 22. Since Easter, she and her family, including her and Prince William’s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, have spent quality time with each other at their country house, Anmer Hall, in Sandringham.
King Charles and Kate Middleton both are going through cancer treatment. The king and princess are said to have supported each other through thick and thin throughout this challenging time. While Kate was recovering from her abdominal surgery at the London Clinic, Charles was said to have visited her to check in.
Shortly before her announcement video, Kate sat in the gardens of Windsor. She and King Charles reportedly had lunch together at Windsor Castle. Now, new details about their lunch have surfaced — and they don’t leave a dry eye.
King Charles and Kate Middleton are in the middle of their cancer treatments. The monarch, who was officially crowned king in early May of last year, disclosed his cancer diagnosis in early February, and about six weeks later, Kate Middleton shared the news of her diagnosis.
Kate Middleton – cancer diagnosis
On March 22, Kate Middleton broke her nearly two-month silence about her health after undergoing her “planned” abdominal surgery. The Princess of Wales revealed she had been diagnosed with cancer and is now undergoing chemotherapy.
“I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery,” Kate Middleton said in the video, as she sat on a bench in the grounds of Windsor, daffodils visible in the background behind her.
She added that the news came as a “huge shock.”
“It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful. Tests after the operation found cancer had been present,” Kate continued, adding that she was in the early stages of treatment.
“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.”
“As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them and to reassure them that I am going to be okay,” the Princess of Wales added, asking the public for privacy as she begins her treatment.
Several experts analyzed Kate Middleton’s video and the way she presented her cancer diagnosis to the world. Body language expert Judi James said that Kate sitting alone at the bench in the Windsor Gardens was a “testament to her strength and courage” and that it appeared that the Princess of Wales hadn’t” lost her sense of humor.”
Kate Middleton compared with Queen Elizabeth by royal expert
Meanwhile, royal biographer Sally Bedel Smith told People Magazine that Kate’s video was “sincere, dignified and “poised.”
“She is inherently shy, and for her to do that took a lot,” Bedell Smith explained, adding that she got flashbacks to Queen Elizabeth II.
“When she ended with ‘You are not alone,’ it rang a bell with something that Queen Elizabeth would have said,” Bedell Smith explains. “It was very similar to what Queen Elizabeth said during COVID when she said, ‘We are all in this together.’”
“She was mindful there are very few people who read about that or watched that who doesn’t know someone who has cancer. She was mindful of that. It was a way of reassuring people not only about her condition but helping them have courage,” Sally Bedell smith added.
Kate Middleton has always been close to her father-in-law, King Charles. The Princess of Wales has even been labeled “the daughter he never had,” and after they both received cancer diagnoses, it appears that they have grown even closer.
Royal expert Victoria Arbiter pointed out that King Charles and Kate Middleton’s already strong relationship has likely grown even more vital as they have faced similar health struggles. Speaking on The Royal Beat, the royal commentator said they “would have found tremendous comfort in each other, going through something so similar.”
Royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith agreed and told People Magazine that she believes King Charles and Kate’s bond is growing stronger because of their similar health issues.
“He has always had a very good bond with her. I don’t think it is presumptuous to say that she is like the daughter he never had,” royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith told People Magazine. “He shares with William an impulse to protect her. They are in this together, Kate and the King.”
Shortly after Kate Middleton announced her cancer diagnosis, the Palace issued a statement. King Charles said he was “so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did” and added that he has “remained in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks.”
King Charles “emotional” one-on-one lunch with Kate Middleton before cancer announcement
The statement was undoubtedly emotional, but according to royal expert Jennie Bond, one word confirmed that the two have an extraordinary relationship.
In an interview with OK! Magazine, Jennie Bond says that the fact that he said “closest contact” and not “close” was noteworthy.
Moreover, Bond revealed that the two had lunch together at Windsor Castle less than 24 hours before the video was released, which left Charles very emotional.
“There’s no doubt that cancer has cemented an already strong relationship. It’s very touching to think of Charles toddling down the corridor to see Kate when they were both in hospital. And it is understood that the King was left very emotional after their one-on-one lunch at Windsor Castle the day after she recorded her broadcast,” Bond said.
“There are so very few people in whom a senior royal can confide, certain that everything they say will be secure. I’m sure that both Charles and Kate have found it comforting to be able to discuss their emotions as well as the chemotherapy treatment and how it has made them feel.”
Jennie Bond added that Kate Middleton isn’t “looking for a father figure,” but that she and Charles have formed a “genuinely affectionate relationship.”
“After all, remember how Diana said Charles had always wanted a daughter. And he loves the grandchildren and now sees much more of them either at Windsor or Sandringham,” the royal expert continued.
King Charles thinks of Kate Middleton “as his daughter,” expert says
“It must be particularly tough for the children to know that both their grandfather and their mother are ill. But I’m sure Charles, like Kate, tries to shield them from that and carries on being a fun grandpa as much as he can in their tight knit little group.”
King Charles might not have shown his emotions about his bond with Kate Middleton in public. However, the monarch did reveal that he did cry after the enormous response to his cancer diagnosis.
In February, during a meeting with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak shortly after his cancer diagnosis had been made public, King Charles said, “I’ve had so many wonderful messages and cards. It’s reduced me to tears most of the time.”
“I hear there’s been a lot more attention and interest on those main, wonderful cancer charities, many of which I’ve been a patron for years,” the King added with a laugh.
Jennie Bond’s insights into King Charles’ emotional lunch are backed up by a source from The Sun, who says it is “unusual” for them to sit down together.
“The King had already been made aware that the woman he calls ‘my beloved daughter-in-law’ had cancer. They would have had lots to discuss and share because just weeks earlier, the King had begun his course of treatment and dealt with announcing his diagnosis,” the source told The Sun.
“The King left his lunch feeling very emotional. They are very close and he thinks of Catherine as his daughter. There is no doubt there is a lot they can share and can use each other for support during their own deeply personal cancer battles.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton decided to leave Adelaide Cottage to spend time at Anmer Hall at Sandringham. George, Charlotte, and Louis are returning to school on April 17, and they get to spend some quality time with their parents at the country house instead.
Prince William’s beautifully supporting Kate Middleton amid cancer diagnosis
Exactly how Kate Middleton is doing as she has begun her treatment, which involves “a course of preventative chemotherapy,” is not known. However, according to royal expert Jennie Bond, the Princess of Wales appears to be doing well.
In an interview with Bella Magazine, the royal expert revealed that Kate is getting stronger with each day that passes.
“She says she’s getting stronger every day so I’m sure she’s doing her best to join in the outdoor life –the picnic, barbecues and walks on the beach,” Bond said.
Prince William has been an invaluable source of support for Kate in this challenging time. A longtime family friend told People he is a “reliable, strong person.” Thanks to him, Kate MIdldeotn “doesn’t feel isolated.”
“This is about supporting her and her feeling supported,” the family friend said. It is a joint effort. She doesn’t feel isolated at all. The nuclear family that they have created so well is immense support not only to him but to Catherine, too.”
The insider continued: “It is a particular time in their lives, and I know their priority will be to look after each other. His priority is on his family, and the other questions can wait.”
A young man was recently going through his grandparents’ old things after they passed and showed an interesting find to a friend of his.
The two could not tell what these metal objects could possibly be until the found some information online.
The metal sticks are actually nutcrackers! Likely from the 1940’s or 1950’s, this type of nutcracker would be used to dig the actual nut out of a shell.
They help to get to the edible portion of any nut, but are especially common to help one properly eat a chestnut.
Nutcrackers like this were often in similar sets of seafood tools that included implements for cracking the shells of shellfish in addition to picks for pulling out the meat.
The nutcrackers could also often been found with a matching wooden bowl designed to look like a chestnut.
Many of us and our grandparents had similar tools at home, along with the fond memories that go with them!
Did you ever have nutcrackers or picks like this? Tell us about your favorite memories of them in the comments!
In a timeless tale of romance, Naval Officer Zack Mayo swept factory worker Paula into his arms and carried her from her workplace, leaving fans everywhere wishing they were the beautiful Debra Winger.
The legendary scene in the romantic drama an Officer and a Gentleman–where Richard Gere played Officer Zack Mayo, the handsome hero in navy whites–became the benchmark of love stories for daydreaming fans.
Acting alongside Hollywood’s hottest men, Debra Winger was the envy of many.
Today, Winger, 67, is as beautiful as ever. In the past few years, Winger has posted photos herself on Instagram, first with brown hair and now to a natural wavy gray.
Winger’s first starring role was in the 1976 film Slumber Party ‘57, which led to a part on the hit TV series Wonder Woman(1979), where she played Drusilla, the younger sister to Lynda Carter’s Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. Winger was asked to appear more often but concerned she’d be typecast by that role, she declined.
There were no regrets for that decision, the early ‘80s would be prosperous for the rising star.
At the height of her young career, she received numerous nods from the Academy and Golden Globes for performances in three iconic movies of the 1980’s.
In 1980, she starred in Urban Cowboy, with John Travolta, who at the time was driving fans wild with his smooth dance moves in Saturday Night Fever (1977) and Grease (1988); as Paula in an Officer and a Gentleman (1982) and in Terms of Endearment (1983), where she played Emma, a dying young woman with an over-bearing mother, Aurora, played by Shirley MacLaine.
Despite her huge success, Winger, carving hours from her acting schedule, took a mini Hollywood hiatus, and more than four decades after her rise to stardom, speculation of why she left is still circulating.
Most of these rumours revolve around the feuds that Winger had with her co-stars.
Though fans couldn’t get enough of the handsome Gere, it’s been widely reported that Winger had enough of him on the set.
According to an excerpt published on ABC News from the book, “An Actor and a Gentleman,” by co-star, Louis Gossett Jr., who played Sgt. Emil Foley: “The onscreen chemistry between the two of them was terrific, but it was a different story once the camera was turned off. They couldn’t have stayed farther apart from each other.”
Gossett also claims that Winger didn’t think much of Gere’s acting and wrote that she once described Gere as “a brick wall.” And, the film’s director, Taylor Hackford, whom she also did not like, she referred to as “animal.”
It wasn’t only people on that film that ruffled her feathers.
Winger, a free spirit in real life and in her role as Emma, also clashed with the prolific MacLaine, a glamourous, eccentric and seasoned veteran.
Their first meeting set the stage for their relationship.
“To see how my character would feel I was wearing all my leftover movie-star fur coats,” MacLaine said in an interview with People. “There was Debra dressed in combat boots and a miniskirt…I thought, ‘Oh my goodness.’”
People writes, “Indeed, the set became the source of Hollywood’s most relished rumors. Winger wanted top billing. One reportedly slugged the other.”
And then, the women were pitted against each other in the Oscars when they were both nominated for best actress.
MacLaine, taking the trophy home, said in her acceptance speech, “I deserve this!”
Rumors aside, Winger insists she “pushed the pause button” on Hollywood for personal reasons and not professional.
“The parts that were coming, I wasn’t interested in. I’d already done that or I’d already felt that. I needed to be challenged. My life challenged me more than the parts, so I dove into it fully,” Winger told People.
After starring in the 1995 romcom Forget Paris with Billy Crystal, Winger took a six-year break.
In that time, she moved to New York City and shifted her focus to actor Arliss Howard, whom she married in 1996. The pair have a son, Gideon Babe, who was born in 1997, and she is stepmother to Sam, Howard’s son from a previous marriage. She also has another biological child, Noah Hutton, whom she mothered while married to her first husband, Timothy Hutton (1986 to 1990).
She reappeared in the 2001 film Big Bad Love, that was directed and produced by her husband, who also co-starred alongside Winger and Rosanna Arquette, who’s next project was 2002 film Searching for Debra Winger. As director of the documentary, Arquette attempts to answer why Winger temporarily abandoned her career at peak performance.
Winger gained some momentum with roles in Rachel Getting Married (2008) with Anne Hathaway, the 2017 romcom The Lovers, and the crime-comedy, Kajillionaire (2020).
In 2021, she was in With/In, Volume two of the anthological drama film, in the segment Her Own, which is written and directed by her husband, who also co-stars.
“I don’t know what Hollywood is. I’m living under the freaking sign now, and I just stare at it and laugh. Los Angeles is a place, but the idea of Hollywood doesn’t really exist for me,” Winger said, adding, “…although there must be some in-crowds that I just don’t know about.”
We can’t imagine a Hollywood without Debra Winger and we hope she soon gets to take home an Academy Award ! What are your favorite Winger movies?
