The History Behind Blake Shelton’s “Lonely Tonight” Duet
Blake Shelton released “Lonely Tonight” in 2014 as a duet with Ashley Monroe. The song reached the #1 spot on the Country Airplay chart and crossed over to claim the 47th slot on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100. It was also a #1 country song in Canada.
Shelton and Monroe later earned a Grammy nomination for their performance. They received a nod in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category.
As to be expected, Shelton and Monroe can’t always be together when Shelton performs the song live. So he’s had some other artists join him on the song in the past, such as Lauren Alaina and Carly Pearce.
More recently, Shelton sang “Lonely Tonight” with his Season 23 Voice finalist Grace West. The performance was extra special, because it was Shelton’s last time ever singing on The Voice as a coach.
Blake Shelton & Kelly Clarkson Sing “Lonely Tonight” For Crowd In Denver
Speaking of The Voice, another longtime Voice coach is Shelton’s good friend Kelly Clarkson. The two of them have known each other for years.
We’ve heard Shelton and Clarkson sing together many times before. Some of the songs they’ve performed include “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” “Neon Moon,” and “Austin.”
Shelton and Clarkson united for another duet in 2021. It happened during Shelton’s show in Denver, Colorado on his Friends & Heroes Tour.
No one had any clue that Clarkson was waiting backstage to join Shelton on the song. Her appearance came as a complete surprise to everyone in attendance!
Needless to say, the crowd went wild when Clarkson made her way onstage. One fan-filmed video of the duet captures the exciting duet.
According to NBC, Shelton said, “Kelly freakin’ Clarkson, Denver!” after the song finished. Watch part of their surprise duet in the clip below.
Despite being from 2021, this duet has made the rounds again. Goes to show just how memorable this particular collaboration was!
Kelly Clarkson is an American Idol for many reasons. She brought down the house on the Finale of American Idol, and her performance came straight from the heart as she brought everyone to tears.
The song she sang was about a child telling his father about how he felt when he left them when he was 6. The lyrics alone make most people emotional.
The performance was just Kelly and a piano accompaniment so you could feel the emotions with every single lyric she sang. Her facial expressions also told the story, and she continued that stage presence throughout the entire song. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
Kelly was not the only one feeling emotional. The fans in the audience could be heard several times during the performance applauding and shouting her praises. Kelly was pregnant during this performance which is why she felt she was so emotional herself.
When she completed the song, she received a standing ovation, and the crowd was chanting her name. She was definitely the favorite to win from an audience perspective.
The judges also stood and applauded her and then the camera panned to Keith Urban who was also in tears. He felt the emotion of her performance, and so did a few of the other judges, and they are seen wiping away tears.
The announcer comes over to speak with Kelly Clarkson and puts his arm around her. He then tells her that he could tell she was singing with pure emotion. Kelly apologizes for crying on stage and blames it on being pregnant. She did say though that she is so proud of making it this far.
It was evident by the audience and judges reactions that Kelly Clarkson was about to make history once again with her superstar talent.
Viewers who tuned in for the November 20 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show were given quite the early holiday treat: Clarkson performing an electric cover of Celine Dion’s “All By Myself” for an instantly re-watchable edition of Kellyoke!
The former Voice Coach began the performance by laying her vocals over a simple piano, which was beautiful enough for us to get goosebumps. But when she hit the iconic high note of the song’s soaring chorus as the lead guitar accompanied her, she officially lifted up “All By Myself” into magical territory.
She held that note so long, and she didn’t stop there, showing off her unbelievable range until the very last, impossibly high note that defied logic.
Wow. Just… wow. That was a religious experience if there ever was one. This version of “All By Myself” may be the best cover Clarkson’s ever performed.
Also, is it our imagination or were the production values of this performance above and beyond previous Kellyoke songs — it was so theatric!
Although fans of unique covers have surely seen Casper the chihuahua sing “All By Myself” on America’s Got Talent, let’s be honest with ourselves: Nothing quite comes close to the power and emotion Clarkson commits to the iconic song!
(That being said, we wouldn’t be opposed to seeing a Casper/Clarkson duet down the road for pure morbid curiosity’s sake.)
Another episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, another unforgettable go-round of Kellyoke — and the 42-year-old has blown fans away every time.
Here’s what to know about “All By Myself” by Celine Dion
Originally written in 1975 by Eric Carmen as the first single from his self-titled debut album, Dion recorded her version in 1996 for her fourth English-language studio album, Falling Into You. Fans widely regard Dion’s version as the definitive “All By Myself,” which shows in the song’s commercial success.

The song quickly climbed up the charts, topping Billboard’s U.S.-based Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks, and reached #4 on the Hot 100.
In 2018, Entertainment Focus declared Dion’s “All By Myself” as having “one of the best recorded vocals ever captured.” The reviewer raved about Dion’s singing, citing an emotional listening experience.
“Listening to Dion reach the highs she does on that song is magical and it sends goosebumps down your spine like nothing else can,” they wrote.
As you likely know by now, Kelly Clarkson can sing anything. She’s the original American Idol winner, after all. What you may not know, however, is that the “Behind These Hazel Eyes” songstress seems to have passed those genes along to her children. Clarkson’s 8-year-old son, Remington, recently charmed the audience at The Kelly Clarkson Show with an outstanding cover of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way.” The adorably precocious performance had all the making of a viral moment, and go viral it did. “things that made me cry so far today: Remy, Kelly Clarkson’s son, singing My Way by Frank Sinatra on his mommy’s show,” one viewer wrote on X/Twitter.
Later, The Kelly Clarkson Show viewers got an exclusive look into how Remy is handling his newfound fame. And it seems the young vocal prodigy is ready for his close-up.
Kelly Clarkson’s Son Racks Up Over A Million Views
Typically, Kelly Clarkson keeps her kids out of the spotlight. But Remy and his 10-year-old sister, River Rose, joined their mom on set during the Jan. 8 episode for a rare public appearance.
River discussed her songwriting, and Remy gave some insight into the life of a viral Internet star. “Yeah, how much views did I get again?” the young performer asked his mother. (Well, he’s certainly got the confidence down.)
Perhaps Clarkson should take some cues from her youngest child. “I said, “Man, buddy, you’ve got like over a million views,” she told the audience. “And he goes, ‘Do you get that many views?’”
As the crowd roared with laughter, Clarkson joked, “I was like, ‘Calm down. And, not often.’”
“Who Do I Have To Talk To To Sing My Song?”
Much like their mother, Kelly Clarkson’s children feel perfectly at home onstage. In fact, the Grammy winner says Remy’s performance wasn’t even her idea. In fact, he strode briskly onto the set and firmly requested his chance at the microphone.
“He literally said, ‘Who do I have to talk to to sing my song?’” Clarkson said, much to the crowd’s delight. “I was like, okay. So, of course, we made it happen, and he walked right to the bandstand and chose 6one of his favorite tunes.”
Scotty McCreery’s emotional performance of “Back on the Ground” brought a powerful wave of sentiment to the stage, leaving both fans and his mother visibly moved. Known for his deep, rich voice and heartfelt lyrics, Scotty has a unique way of connecting with his audience, and this performance was no exception.
A Song That Hits Home
“Back on the Ground,” a track that reflects on the journey of life and the importance of family and roots, struck an emotional chord with the crowd. As Scotty sang with raw emotion, his mother could be seen wiping away tears, overwhelmed by the personal connection she felt to the song. The song’s lyrics, which talk about returning to what truly matters after life’s challenges, hit close to home, especially for those who have been following Scotty’s career from the beginning.
A Mother’s Love on Display
The heartfelt moment of Scotty’s mother wiping away tears was a testament to the bond between mother and son. It was clear that the song resonated with her on a personal level, as she watched her son pour his heart into the performance. Fans were quick to share their admiration for the touching moment, with one fan commenting, “Scotty’s mom’s reaction says it all. A beautiful, emotional performance. This song is everything.”
The Power of Music
For Scotty McCreery, music has always been a way to connect with others, and “Back on the Ground” exemplified this perfectly. The song, infused with deep emotions and reflection, was not only a personal tribute to his family but also a universal message of staying grounded, no matter how high you soar in life.
A Moment Fans Will Never Forget
This powerful performance is yet another example of why Scotty McCreery continues to win over hearts across the globe. With his authenticity and ability to touch lives through his music, Scotty’s “Back on the Ground” is more than just a song—it’s an experience that will stay with fans long after the final note fades.

Country music favorite Reba McEntire has had no shortage of emotional hits, such as “Fancy”, “Is There Life Out There”, and “For My Broken Heart” to name a few. However, perhaps one of the saddest songs in country music, McEntire’s ballad “The Greatest Man I Never Knew” has continued to elicit memories of devastating heartbreaks and the longing for a father’s love from all who fall victim to its shattering lyrics.
One of the song’s brilliant writers, Richard Leigh, admitted that he wrote the song in light of his own father, bringing an extra shot of tears in honor the writer who felt so distant from his parent. Although this theme of distant relationships is often experienced by most at some point in our hectic lives, the lyrics “He never said he loved me/ Guess he thought I knew” never seem to grow easier to hear.
McEntire called on former American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson to do the honors of assisting in carrying the gut-wrenching lyrics to her doting crowd. The blend of their incredible voices created a pure and breathtaking harmony that perfect delivered a performance of raw emotional and talent. The crowd was stunned throughout the duration of the performance, erupting in cheers and whistles upon its completion.
The liver is an important organ located in the upper quadrant of the abdomen. It is the largest organ in the body and is responsible for more than a hundred important processes. This is why you need to learn the symptoms of liver damage and how to treat the condition properly.
12 early symptoms of damaged liver
There are more than 100 different liver diseases and each one has different symptoms. The most common ones are hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease, cirrhosis and fatty liver disease. The symptoms of these diseases are often misdiagnosed and detected far too late to be able to act. Here are some of the most common liver disease symptoms:
Upset stomach
Vomiting and nausea are the usual symptoms of many diseases including food poisoning, motion sickness, vertigo, depression, early pregnancy and others. However, they are also a sign of liver damage and occur due to the organ’s inability to filter toxins.
Loss of appetite
When damaged, the liver can’t produce enough bile, which results in loss of appetite as the food isn’t properly digested.
Fatigue
Feeling tired all the time can be an indication of liver damage as the organ works harder when attacked. In this case, more toxins accumulate in the blood and tissues and result in constant fatigue which mustn’t be mistaken for simple tiredness.
Digestive problems
The liver produces bile to digest food and fats, but when it’s function is impaired, it can’t produce the substance which leads to diarrhea and indigestion. Lack of bile can also cause fatty food intolerance, gallstones, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome and bloating.
Changes in the color of the stool
The bile gives the stool its normal brown color, but when there’s a lack of it, it can make your stool yellow, gray or clay colored. If this is temporary, you have nothing to fear of. However, if the problem goes on for a while, you need to visit a doctor.
Changes in the color of the urine
The urine is normally yellow, but increased bilirubin levels in the blood as a result of liver damage may turn it to amber, green or brown.
Jaundice
Jaundice is a condition which turns a person’s eyes, fingertips, tongue and skin yellow. It is caused by excess bilirubin in the blood and should be taken seriously.
Fluid retention
Once the liver starts failing, it causes fluid retention in the feet and ankles which makes them look bloated. Fluid retention can also be a symptom of heart failure, hormonal imbalance, lymphatic disease and kidney problems.
Abdominal changes
Cramps, pain and bloating in the abdominal area can be a sign of liver damage. Ascites is a condition in which fluid is accumulated in the abdominal area and is one of the earliest signs of liver damage or disease. Liver damage can also cause high blood pressure in the abdominal blood vessels.
Skin itching
When the liver is damaged, it makes the skin more sensitive and may cause itching and flakiness. It can also make your veins and bruises more visible, and the problems won’t go away with a simple cream.
Abdominal ache
Although it may be caused by many problems, tummy ache can also indicate liver damage or disease.
Constipation, diarrhea, abdominal bleeding
The liver is important for proper clotting, so when it’s damaged it can cause bleeding, diarrhea and constipation.
This is just a fraction of the full list of liver damage symptoms. Liver damage or disease can also cause sex hormones imbalance and gynecomastia, and may also result in loss of libido. If you notice any of the aforementioned symptoms, you should consult a doctor immediately.
This is the moment Adam Lambert sang ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ on American Idol and the judges were torn on whether to send him through to the next round.
When a deadpan Simon Cowell says you’ve chosen his “favourite song” just moments before your first audition, you know that in the world of TV talent shows, the stakes don’t get much higher.
And that was exactly the case with Adam Lambert’s first appearance on American Idol in 2009, when in a nail-biting moment the future Queen frontman singing ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, nearly didn’t get put through by the show’s four judges.
Adam, who would go on to perform at sold-out stadiums across the world as the lead singer of Queen, one of history’s most successful bands, waited nervously in front of the judges as they held his fate in their hands.

After singing a flawless acapella version of Freddie Mercury’s famous ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ the judges were quick to evaluate the 27-year-old Adam Lambert’s performance.
Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, and Kara DioGuardi proceeded to argue over the young performers vocals, with Simon calling his performance “too theatrical”, before eventually – and after much debate – agreeing to put him through.
What the judges didn’t know was they had confirmed the exact doubts Adam had had before the audition: that his musical theatre past would hinder his chances and it nearly stopped him applying for the show altogether.
“I didn’t think I was the right kind of performer to … I didn’t think I would work on the show,” the former Wicked star told Entertainment Weekly in 2016, “I thought ‘Oh, I’m not the type that they look for.’”

Not only was Adam nervous of not getting through, the performer also had to quit his job in a professional theatre production as American Idol rules stated that contestants couldn’t be under any sort of entertainment contract.
“That was my income; that’s how I was getting my health insurance, all that stuff. I had to quit the job that I had in order to move forward, so it was a big risk for me,” he said.
“When it came time to go in front of Simon, Paula, Randy and Kara, it was like in the back of my head, it was like “If this doesn’t work out, you’re screwed.”
“I got up there and it just all kind of worked. I was nervous but I felt a good connection with the judges. I was looking at them and I was chatting with them and I felt it was a good repertoire and they were paying attention.

“The first song that I performed for them was a Michael Jackson song — “Rock With You” — and it didn’t quite connect like I wanted it to, and they were kind of looking at me sideways.”
“[The judges] said, “What else do you have?” That’s when I performed ‘Bohemian Rhapsody.’ That seemed to click for them and that’s what they ended up using on television,” he recalled.
Adam Lambert proceeded to the live rounds of the show and alongside being embraced by the public, was spotted by none other than Queen themselves.
Roger Taylor later confirmed the exact video the band saw of Adam Lambert that convinced them the singer could pay tribute to their legendary frontman, Freddie Mercury.
