Remembering our time at school could evoke happy or sad memories, it’s a tumultuous time filled with highs and lows, but what we can all relate to is school rules.

Some rules make sense like not wearing jewelry during sports but sending someone home with too much makeup or because they’ve smuggled a certain soda drink in seems like a waste of resources and valuable lesson time for the youngsters involved.

For one mother and her son these rules went, arguably, too far and could mean an 8-year-old boy misses out on a good education.

Farouk James, from London, England, is blessed with a stunning head of hair which has caught the attention of model scouts. He now works as a child model having done shoots in New York and Italy.

But his appearance has given him nothing but issues at school and he has been rejected from a number of schools because of the length of his hair.

James has an older brother whose mom Bonnie Miller said when he was at school she was told his hair was too short.

Bonnie said Farouk’s father is from Ghana and for cultural reasons, the parents didn’t cut his hair until he was 3 years old.

“At that point he was attached — and so was I, to be honest — with his beautiful hair,” Bonnie told CBS News. “We just kept the hair.”

The family live in the U.K. where most schools have a policy that despite girls being allowed to have long hair, boys are not.

Bonnie said forcing children to cut their hair is against their human rights.

“I will not give up trying to persuade governments to put legislation in place to protect children from these outdated, punishing rules,” his mom Bonnie wrote on Instagram.

“Farouk hasn’t done anything wrong and YOU REJECT HIM! He will say good bye to his friends as they all get accepted into the schools he so desperately wants to attend.”

This situation even prompted Bonnie to start a Change.org petition to ban hair discrimination in the U.K.

“We’re getting a real team together and calling it the Mane Generation,” Bonnie said. “We’re going to fight this until these rules get changed. And it’s globally, not just domestically in the U.K.”

An Instagram account featuring Farouk and his life as a fun-loving boy and child model is managed by his mom and has more than a quarter of a million followers.

But despite all the love and support he gets online they still receive negative comments. After an appearance on popular U.K. TV morning show ‘This Morning’ to discuss the family’s struggle to find a school which will accept Farouk and his hair, Bonnie said she received many negative comments.

“This week is mental health week so I’m surprised to be receiving lots of negative comments about Farouk’s hair,” Bonnie wrote in May last year.

“Farouk’s hair is a God given part of him and he will not be cutting it to appease anyone, just as he does not keep it long at my request either.”

Bonnie argues that the appearance rules for girls and boys at schools are archaic and in some cases racist with many schools banning dreadlocks and braids.

The mom says she will never stop fighting for acceptance of Farouk and his hair and all the other children who are discriminated against for wanting to express their cultural heritage and who they are.

Farouk’s hair is part of who he is and rejecting a child on the basis of his or her hair by those who are trusted to teach our children is unacceptable in 2022. These rules should be banned.

When Ayla Summer Mucha was born in December 2021, she shocked her new parents by greeting them with a huge smile spread across her tiny face.

Though mom and dad weren’t initially happy to see the newborn’s permanent smile, caused by an extremely rare condition, they fell in love with Ayla, who’s now a social media sensation with fans across the world gushing over the adorable girl with the heartwarming smile.

After nine months of anticipation, Australia’s Cristina Vercher and husband Blaize Mucha were thrilled to finally meet their baby girl, who was making her grand entrance into the world on December 30, 2021.

But, during the C-section birth, doctors delivered some shocking news to the new parents.

Ayla Summer Mucha had developed bilateral macrostomia, which means the baby’s mouth had not properly formed.

The deformity, classified as a facial cleft, is a rare condition where the corners of the mouth don’t fuse together during pregnancy.

In fact, the malformation is so rare that according to National Library of Medicine, only 14 cases have been reported in medical literature.

All around shock

Ayla’s large mouth opening was a complete surprise to her parents, whose ultrasound scans had not picked up any abnormalities.

The new mom, now 23, explains her and Blaize, 22, “were instantly worried” when they saw Ayla for the first time, as the condition was “obvious” since she “was so tiny.”

“Blaize and I were not aware of this condition, nor had I ever met someone born with a macrostomia,” said Adelaide’s Vercher. “So it came as a huge shock.”

It wasn’t just the parents who were shocked. Doctors were also unprepared to handle a baby with bilateral macrostomia.

“This made the experience all the more worrying as it took several hours for a doctor to give us an answer. With this came more difficulties as the hospital had little knowledge or support for such a rare condition.” She added, “All I could think about as a mother was where I went wrong.”

But doctors assured the concerned parents there was nothing they could have done differently. Cristina harbored fears that she had somehow erred during her entire pregnancy or had “caused” her daughter’s condition.

She confessed: ”All I could dwell on as a mother was where I might have made a mistake.” Nonetheless, after days of genetic testing and scans, they received reassurance that this issue was entirely outside their influence and that they bore no blame for it.

What the Muchas could do, was refocus their attention on helping Ayla live with her condition, which also impacts functionality, like with latching and suckling.

For this reason, parents are often encouraged to have surgery performed on their little ones.

The happy family

The young couple went on a mission to learn more about the condition and decided to share Ayla’s story on social media, where on TikTok her distinctive smile attracted the likes of 6.5 million online users.

The Muchas never expected they’d get the huge amount of support they received.

“I just read on doctor Google that there are only 14 documented cases. She is so darn special. Be proud mama,” one user writes.

A second netizen says of Ayla’s contagious smile, “She is beautiful and just perfect the way she is. She made me smile as well.”

Meanwhile, a handful of trolls who judged the helpless child were quickly shot down by Ayla’s loyal followers.

“Your daughter is absolutely beautiful, please do not listen to those bitter people. She’s such an Angel,” shares one. “Oh my looord. How cute are you!! ignore all those hurtful comments your little cuteness is just too sweet,” said another.

“You are a strong woman, you have a beautiful daughter, I’m sorry to see those thoughtless comments,” shares a third.

Responding to the hateful comments over her sweet baby, Vercher said, “I would advise nothing more than to be kind and accepting of all people.”

“As you would hope, people paid the same respect to your or your children if such events were to occur in your life,” she said, adding that conditions “such as this” could really happen to anyone. “Social media is a divided place. You can’t control the personalities of other people unfortunately.”

Leaning on the positive comments and support, Vercher adds, “We will not stop sharing our experiences and favourite memories as we are so proud.”

Although it hasn’t been confirmed, it appears that Ayla, who recently celebrated her 2nd birthday, successfully had surgery to correct her enlarged mouth. The little girl, who in November 2023 became a big sister to baby brother Sonny, has almost no scarring from the procedure.

We’re happy that the Muchas were undeterred by online hate and continued sharing videos and pictures of the beautiful little Ayla.

A passenger on a British Airways flight reportedly caught a pilot ‘ogling soft porn during a cockpit break’.

The pilot was caught sneaking a peak at the material on a long-haul flight from London to Shanghai.

Passenger David Jones, 35, was flying to China with his wife when he saw the plane’s captain perusing through the sultry photos, which appear to be from an adult magazine, on his iPad while sat in the front row.

The pilot, who was on a break at the time, looked at the snaps for around half an hour when the cabin’s lights had been lowered.

Accountant Mr Jones then claims the pilot head headed to the toilet.

Gray hair in Hollywood often sparks conversation, revealing the industry’s complex relationship with aging. Celebrities facing criticism for showcasing their natural grays have flipped the narrative, clapping back at the naysayers and championing self-acceptance.

Here are some of the show business stars who have had their fair share of harsh online criticism regarding their physical appearance throughout the years.

Jennifer Aniston

Similarly, Jennifer Aniston has faced her own journey with aging under the Hollywood spotlight. Aniston, celebrated for her role in “Friends,” showcased her gray hair in 2023, leading to mixed reactions online.

Initially resistant to graying, Aniston’s embrace of her natural hair color sparked debate among fans, with some applauding her courage and others critiquing her appearance.

“Anyone would think going gray was an anamomaly for tv/movie stars seriously!! We better give Jennifer a plack/award for it she’s soooo brave it’s never heard of [sic],” one person wrote.

Meanwhile, some of the TV star’s fans raved about her new look, complimenting her for going gray. “Well done for allowing gray to come through – refreshing,” said one person. “Aside from some bad lip work, she looks amazing,” another individual commented.

Some people mentioned that Aniston looks even more beautiful with gray hair, while others stated she looks as gorgeous as usual. “I am sure she entered the gray hair stage a while back – she’s just starting to embrace it,” an online user said.

However, others believe the movie star going gray would ruin her overall appearance. One social media user advised Aniston, “Nah. Dye it. I know, it’s empowering and all that nonsense. Do yourself a favor and make it blonde.” Someone else who disliked Aniston’s gray look told her “Gray hair doesn’t suit you yet. Save it for later plz.”

Now 55, the Emmy Award winner credits her Greek genes for her ageless beauty. She advised people to stay hydrated and use good face products, which have also played a part in her young-looking appearance. “Don’t overproduct, that’s the other thing. Getting proper sleep is always important,” she added.

Aniston has been vocal about the pressures of agelessness in Hollywood, advocating for natural beauty and condemning social media trolls for their harsh criticism of celebrities’ appearances.

Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker, renowned for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in “Sex and the City,” faced backlash for displaying her gray hair make-up free while dining with Andy Cohen once.

Critics labeled her old, prompting Cohen, who also has silver hair, to denounce the comments as “misogynistic,” as he never received the same criticism for his hair.

In response, Parker, 58, articulated her views on aging in an interview, questioning why people derive pleasure from others’ discomfort with aging.

The actress expressed, “It almost feels as if people don’t want us to be perfectly OK with where we are, as if they almost enjoy us being pained by who we are today, whether we choose to age naturally and not look perfect, or whether you do something if that makes you feel better.”

In addition, she asserted, “I know what I look like… What am I going to do about it? Stop aging? Disappear?” Being in her late 50s, Parker emphasized her comfort with her appearance and aging, highlighting a refusal to obsess over it. “I like to be graceful with myself. I’m not delusional. I know that age adds up…” said the award-winning Hollywood A-list star.

Diane Keaton

Like Parker, Diane Keaton has navigated the complexities of aging in the public eye with remarkable dignity. At 77, Keaton showcased her gray hair at the 2014 Golden Globes, receiving praise for aging naturally.

Online users reportedly loved the esteemed veteran star’s look so much that they even prompted blog posts on how to achieve her stylish silver hair.

An advocate for aging gracefully, Keaton, now 78 years old, has voiced her acceptance of cosmetic procedures but prefers to showcase her “battle scars.”

“I don’t see anything wrong with face-lifts or Botox or fillers. They just erase the hidden battle scars. I intend to wear mine, sort of,” said the Academy Award-winning actress

Reflecting on aging, she contemplates the quality of life in later years, stressing the challenges older individuals face in remaining connected with society.

Keanu Reeves’ Girlfriend Alexandra Grant

In a parallel narrative, Keanu Reeves and his partner Alexandra Grant exemplify the strength found in defying conventional expectations together. The couple has faced scrutiny over Grant’s gray hair since their relationship went public.

Grant, who embraced her natural hair color after years of dyeing, has been criticized for looking older than her age. One person on X (formerly known as Twitter), commented, “They say Keanu Reeves’ girlfriend is 46… She looks old as my grandma.”

Another person asked why Reeves’ girlfriend looked older than she actually was: “Why 46 years old Keanu Reeves’ girlfriend looks like she’s 70?” On the other hand, some people commended Grant’s courage to go gray on The Talk’s post, but others said they would never risk going gray.

One online user noted that Grant looked mature for her age because of the gray hair, adding: “[…] But not everyone looks their age. I’m in my late 50’s, and I look a lot younger. Anyhow, if they’re happy, who are we to judge.”

Other people commended Grant for going gray with one individual writing“I don’t have the guts to go gray. But I think it’s crazy how people are making harsh comments regarding Her hair! “

In a December 2019 Instagram post, Grant, a visual artist, revealed her hair turned gray prematurely in her early twenties and she often dyed it. However, she soon stopped dyeing her locks due to the toxicity of the dyes.

“In my 30’s, I let my hair turn “blonde.” I love and support that every womxn can choose how she wants to look at every age. But/and, if womxn are perishing from beauty standards, then let’s talk about those beauty standards. Love to all womxn!” the now-54-year-old penned.

Despite negative comments, many fans have expressed support for Grant’s decision to go gray, highlighting the couple’s happiness as the most important factor.

Roseanne Barr

Echoing Grant’s defiance, Roseanne Barr has also embraced her gray hair, confronting the negative comments with a sense of pride in her age.

Barr, whose is in her early seventies, has been subject to body shaming on social media for her natural aging process, including her gray hair.

The best-selling author has undergone a dramatic transformation through the years, which includes changing hairstyles and dyeing her hair. But in 2007, she stated she would stop dyeing her hair and wear her natural gray full-time.

However, Barr, who is also a comedian, started to embrace the aging process in 2008 when she attended the TV Land Awards with her natural gray hair.

Fast forward to 2020, the television star began posting photos of herself rocking long silver hair which she styled in waves, on her social media. A year later, Barr shared a picture wearing a cheetah print dress with gray while showing off her gray locks.

Despite the negativity, Barr has embraced her age and gray hair, stating, “I want to look old because I am old. And I think it’s good to be old, too.” Barr’s stance on aging reflects a broader acceptance of natural beauty standards.

Jodie Foster

Finally, Jodie Foster’s experiences bring the discussion full circle. Foster faced criticism for her appearance, particularly her gray roots, in the trailer for HBO’s “True Detective: Night Country.”

The trailer of the long-awaited series came out in April 2023, and while many people were happy to see the Oscar Award-winning actress, otherwise were quick to point out how much she had aged.

In the clip, Foster appeared with her natural gray hair and aging face. Some people were stunned to see the former child star looking her age and mentioned how she is getting old.

One person assumed that the film star has had work done on her face, writingI hope she hasn’t gotten one of those facelifts that gives everyone who gets one that permanent ‘pork chopsh and apple shauce’ lishp thing.”

Despite negative comments about her aging, Foster remains content with her natural appearance. Support from fans has shifted the conversation from criticism to admiration, highlighting Foster’s enduring beauty and talent. One individual said she looked good, another sang her praises and complimented her beauty.

These celebrities, facing and responding to criticism over their natural aging process, highlight a growing movement towards embracing natural beauty and challenging traditional beauty standards in Hollywood.

  • This woman did not think the man who came to lunch with his own oatmeal packets would become her husband.
  • At first, she thought he was strange and turned him down three times.
  • They’ve been married for 18 years, share two children, and they make movies together.

Sometimes, couples are not always on the same page regarding their first dates, which was the case for this couple. To the woman who worked as a producer, going out for dinner with colleagues was just as casual as it sounds, but for the man, who already had his eyes on her, the dinner counted as their first date.

Interestingly, the actor asked the producer out three times before she agreed to go out with him. There could have been many reasons behind her reluctance; for instance, on their first encounter, the woman thought the actor was strange.

While they were having lunch in Montreal with other actors like Halle Berry, everyone was having Japanese, while this actor brought out packets of oatmeal and raved about how much of a “superfood” it was.

In addition to the weird conversation about oatmeal, the actor also brought out a variety of herbs and started doing yoga poses. “I mean, he was interesting but weird,” the producer thought.

As they looked back at the beginning of their relationship, the producer did not see that lunch with colleagues as their first date because she was still producing the movie they were working on, so she felt they were on different pages. However, he had convinced himself that the encounter was their first date, despite how strange he might have seemed.

The actor was Robert Downey Jr., and the woman was Susan Downey. When he finally got her to go out with him, their relationship started moving fast. Within three months, the “The Judge” actor proposed to Susan, but she accepted the proposal on a few conditions.

Susan asked for a long engagement of about two years, and if Robert really wanted to be with her, he would give up all drugs. Should he fail to do so, then she would leave. The mother of two had never dealt with addiction. ”I was incredibly ignorant of its hold on people,” she confessed.

But Robert appreciated that his wife did not know much about addiction because he believed if she knew the severity of his addiction, they wouldn’t have the life they have now. In one interview, the “Sherlock Holmes” actor spoke about how Susan helped him deal with his addiction.

When asked if he credited her for saving his life, he clarified that he needed to deal with his hardships on his own, and his wife gave him the space to get out of his addiction on his own conditions.

What he appreciated the most was the different kind of validation that Susan extended to him. Robert said his wife was the only person who did not try to coddle him and treat him like he was special, whether that was on set or while he was going through the emotions that came with his sobriety journey.

The couple eventually married in 2005 in a Jewish ceremony in the Hamptons, one of Robert’s favorite summer spots. Since then, the only drug that the actor is taking is nicotine gums, which still drives his wife crazy. Susan hates that he leaves the gum wrappers all over the house, but she has learned to adjust. However, that was not the only change the producer noticed in herself.

She confessed that before meeting Robert, she was very career-driven and did not think about kids. “I didn’t care about having a family or making a home. I didn’t think about kids. It’s not that I didn’t want those things; I just didn’t think about them,” she candidly confessed.

The couple has welcomed two children together: a son, Exton Downey, who arrived in 2010, and a daughter, Avri Downey, in 2015. Robert also has a son, Indio Downey, from his first marriage. Now that Susan is a mother of two, she credits her husband for bringing the kind of creativity and passion that opened her up to a new life.

Robert and Susan celebrated 18 years of marriage, and for them to get that far, they had to have a few ground rules to make sure their union was always nurtured.

The couple met on the set of Gothika, which was Robert’s first serious gig since he was incarcerated. But their love story started while doing what they loved, and they both knew how busy the industry can get, so they came up with a two-week rule.

This meant the couple could not go two weeks without seeing each other. Even when they were miles apart, they ensured to find a way to be with each other on their different movie sets. However, their jobs have also given them opportunities to team up.

For instance, Robert brought on his wife as a producer on “Iron Man 2.” They also worked together on “Due Date.” Soon, the couple realized they loved spending time together and decided to not only lead a family together but make movies together.

In 2010, they started their own production company, Team Downey, which turned their two-week rule into a one-week rule. The reason behind their company was simple: Susan and Robert already worked well together as a couple, so making movies together was the cherry on top.

This meant the two planned to keep most of their upcoming jobs within the family business, including the third “Sherlock Holmes” movie. Looking at how much the couple loves being together, their secret to a long-lasting marriage is to enjoy each other.

According to Susan, when you have fun together, it makes it easier to get over the bumps. We also got to see the funny side of the couple when Robert accepted his award at the Golden Globes. He joked that his wife believed Matt Damon was going to win.

He continued his comedic speech by crediting his wife for his skyrocketing career and thanked everyone else who worked hard to make “Sherlock Holmes” the great film that it was.

In an interview after the awards show, Susa Downey explained that her husband was too confident that he would win, and from where she was sitting, it looked like the predictions were more on Matt’s side. She thought to manage Robert Downey’s expectations by telling him Matt would win. Fortunately, Robert took the award home.

Cole Hauser’s parents divorced when the young actor was two years old. It took the youngster seven years before he got to know his father after seeing his name during the ending credits of a movie on Television.

Cole Hauser’s most famous role has come from portraying the character Rip Wheeler on Paramount Network’s hit series “Yellowstone.”

The actor’s parents are some of his biggest supporters, especially his father, who is also a cowboy and an actor himself.

Cole and his father have not always been buddies because the young actor was raised by his mother, and it took him nine years before he even knew who his father was.

COLE’S CHILDHOOD

Cole Hauser was born to his father, Wings Hauser, and mother, Cass Warner. His mother is an award-winning writer and producer and the founder of the production company “Warner Sisters.”

His parents divorced when Cole was only two years old, and Cass raised the youngster as a single mother. She also never remarried.

Cass described Cole was born at dawn on a ranch in Santa Barbara, and growing up, the youngster was always interested in life and living fully.

He was also very curious, and, at five years old, Cole would wander into the Oregon woods to explore with the family’s two Irish setter dogs.

Cole would always show up later with a smile on his face and, after lunch, hop on his small cinnamon pony and practice sliding over her head.

COLE’S REUNION WITH HIS FATHER

Cole was about nine years old when he watched a movie in which his father appeared. The youngster did not recognize him, but he saw the name Wings Hauser during the ending credits.

Afterward, he went to his mother to demand an explanation as to who Wings Hauser was, and Cass subsequently revealed Wings was his father.

COLE HAUSER’S MOTHER

The actor’s mother, Cass Warner, was also born into a family of legendary filmmakers, and her father, Milton Sperling, was an award-winning writer and producer.

Cass would follow Milton to the Warner Bros Studios as a child, and the little girl was allowed to roam as much as she wanted.

These tours and the experience inspired her and fanned the flames of her filmmaking passion. Afterward, she studied acting with the iconic Milton Katselas.

She also learned screenwriting from her father and Howard Koch of Casablanca fame. Cass subsequently created her own production company called Warner Sisters.

In 2008, Cass created a documentary titled “The Brothers Warner” to provide viewers insight into the family and their filmmaking legacy. She also started a series called “Conversations with Cass,” where she talks with some of the most respected and famous actors in the movie industry.

Cole was raised by his mother in large parts, and the pair are very close. He supported her nonprofit organization called “The Dream Factory Project” by participating in a video conversation with his mother.

In the video clip, which was meant to encourage people to pursue their dreams, the actor recalled how Cass allowed him to attend acting camps as a teenager, inspiring him to follow his dreams of being an actor.

He explained he was affected by relating to people in a good way instead of a wrong way. The actor also admired his mother for her strength in the human spirit.

The actor also regularly posts their pictures and would mention Cass on his Instagram account. On December 17, 2017, he shared a now-deleted picture of the pair on horseback, which he captioned:

“My momma and I cruise(ing) the hills of Utah on horseback. Love (our) time together.”

During the COVID-19 pandemic, he also posted a picture of his mother with his wife and kids, indicating Cass was quarantining with her son.

COLE’S RELATIONSHIP WITH GRANDPARENTS AND THEIR LEGACY

Cole spent a lot of time with his maternal grandfather Milton Sperling, and the actor explained he learned a lot from him. He revealed Milton taught him to be honest, truthful, and to be a man in acknowledging his mistakes and moving forward from them.

Milton was a famous producer for both 20th Fox Century studios and Warner Bros. He also had a production unit within Warner Bros called United States Pictures.

The “Yellowstone” star praised his grandfather for being a very brilliant man and explained he studied Milton a lot as a kid. Whenever he had to make a decision, he would always do what he felt his grandfather would approve of.

The actor explained that his maternal grandparents are renowned for always being hardworking, coming over as Russian immigrants, and building a production empire like Warner Bros.

Cole’s maternal great grandfather Harry Warner was one of the founders of the legendary movie company Warner Bros.

Harry started as the owner of a bicycle shop before he sold it and used the proceeds to pursue a career in Hollywood along with his brothers. Together they set up a theater called the Cascade.

He served as the President of Warner Bros till 1956, when he and his brothers decided to put the company on the market. Sadly, Harry died two years later, aged 76.

Celebrating diversity and the differences between people in the world should be a given, regardless of what country or society you live in.

In recent years efforts have been made to promote inclusion in the many walks of life. Some areas have found more success than others, sure, but the overall message is clear: just because someone is different from ‘the norm’ they’re no less capable of fantastic things.

Just ask Kennedy Garcia, a girl who doctors advised be committed to an institution when she was a newborn. Kennedy, from Colorado Springs, Colorado, has Down syndrome and, as per Metro, doctors told her mother that she would have a low quality of life as a result.

They feared she would have to wear nappies as an adult and it would kinder if she were placed in a specialized institution for her own well being.

As it were, Kennedy’s mom Renee opted to kick them all out of the hospital room. She wasn’t about to give up on her baby, and time has proven her wiser than all the doctors who advised her.

Fast forward to present day and Kennedy has competed in state-wide dance competitions and modelled for top brands in the United States. She also battled against cancer, overcoming leukaemia with iron will and steadfast bravery.

Renee told Metro: “The night Kennedy arrived, I was heartbroken to learn she had the condition because I was being fed nothing but a negative, bleak picture painted by doctors and nurses who really had no idea what my child‘s future really held.

“It was only the next night when a kind midwife told me Kennedy was beautiful and just like her daughter, who also had the condition, that I felt a glimmer of hope.

“The first thing I asked was if her daughter could walk, because I really didn’t know what having the condition meant, and she just laughed. Her daughter was 16 and of course she could walk.”

Kennedy has certainly proved that obstacles are there to be broken. The youngster has modelled for American Girl and Justice Clothing and is signed with KMR Diversity and Dream Talent Management.

She regularly flies to Hollywood and New York to audition and take part in modelling jobs, but also enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Matthew, who also has Down syndrome.

As for the doctors who wanted Kennedy placed in an institution, Renee has only one opinion.

“It’s shocking how misinformed they all were, and it was only 15 years ago,” she said. “I feel sad that I wasted time grieving for moments like prom dress shopping as I really had been led to believe none of the normal milestones would be reached.”

Renee and Kennedy now take the time to tour around schools, educating children of all ages as to what Down syndrome is and how they can support people they encounter who have the condition. Kennedy herself is quickly garnering a following on social media – she already boasts almost 70,000 followers on Instagram.

“We’re all incredibly proud of her and everything she’s achieved,” Renee explained to Metro. “She’s a wonderful girl and we are all so lucky to have her in our lives.”

What a brilliant story of triumph over the odds and a little girl who has refused to let anything stand in her way. Kennedy’s story really does put a smile on your face – we wish her all the very best moving forward.

Expanding your family as a parent is always a sweet feeling especially if it is with someone you love and are on the same page with.

Alec Baldwin married his wife Hilaria in 2012 and the two of them have been expanding their family together ever since…

The couple wasted no time in starting a family, welcoming their first child in 2013. They then had four more children together before adding a sixth child via a surrogate.

In April 2021, they shared the news that they were expecting their seventh child together – people were ecstatic for the couple, and happy that they were continuing to grow their wonderful family.

Hilaria excitedly shared the news about her daughter’s arrival on her Instagram account. She posted a selection of pictures and videos to her page, along with the caption: “She’s here! We are so excited to introduce you to our tiny dream come true, ilaria catalina irena”.

This is Alec Baldwin’s eighth child in total, but his seventh child with current wife Hilaria. He shares his oldest daughter, Ireland Baldwin, with his ex-wife Kim Basinger.

In the aforementioned Instagram post, Hilaria offered some details about the latest addition to her and Alec’s family. She wrote that their daughter was born on September 22, 2022, weighing 6 lbs. and 13 ounces. She added: “Both she and I are happy and healthy.”

She then made another post expressing how excited the rest of her children are about the newest addition to their family, writing: “Her Baldwinito siblings are spending the day bonding and welcoming her into our home.”

She concluded the caption with: “Much love to you all. We are so happy to celebrate this wonderful news with you.”

The couple released an official birth announcement via People Magazine, reading: “How grateful we feel to welcome our newest little daughter into this world. Just as magical and filled with love as every other little person we have been blessed with.”

While the couple naturally adore their family, Hilaria Baldwin recently shared that not everyone understands their reasoning behind it being so… well, big. In a recent post she wrote: “7th baby: when people ask or comment, we often go to silly and very self-deprecating jokes on my part. I love to laugh at myself—so it’s all good…keeps me sane. All jokes aside, however, I am grateful for this experience.”

She explained her thinking further, stating: “I know too well the joys and the losses, the beauty and the heartache, that motherhood brings. I have learned to respect and embrace the wonderful, the hard, the uncomfortable, the magical, and the unknown of this incredible process I am so blessed to experience again and again.”

The couple is clearly happy with their family and are practically glowing at their latest addition – but not everyone congratulated them. In fact, certain individuals had a lot to say about their newborn’s name: Ilaria Catalina Irena Baldwin.

Hilaria and Alec Baldwin are known for selecting unique names for their children, often with Spanish origins. However, after the revelation that Hilaria isn’t of Spanish descent – and the accompanying controversy surrounding her alleged use of a fake Spanish accent and misrepresentation of her heritage in 2020 – people were taken aback by the name they gave to their seventh child.

“Her blatant trying to be Spanish is really quite irritating, why is it okay? Why does she keep trying? Have they really let it go to their heads that much,” someone wrote.

Another person wrote on Twitter: “Fake Spanish name from Boston-born mom,” while a second echoed: “Hilaria & Alec Baldwin had their 7th child. Not one American name, not even a middle name.”

A third said: “Alec Baldwin’s wife faking being Spanish is so crazy. Changing her name from Hillary to Hilaria, naming all 7 of their kids with those roots, pretending to forget the english word for ‘cucumber’, faking an accent. She should’ve changed her name to hilarious instead.”

It’s rare to see a celebrity today who has not had work done, especially because of the amount of pressure often placed on famous women. It’s hard to be a woman in Hollywood, but – even at 76 – Sally Field has defied most of the “rules” put in place.

We love Sally Field’s work in films like Forrest Gump and Steel Magnolias. Some of our favorite work from her, though, is not on the screen but instead in her personal approach to working against ageism in her career.

Born in 1946 in Pasadena, California, Sally Field rose to fame first in television series such as Gidget and The Flying Nun.

The now 76-year-old star developed into an impressive actress and activist, moving into film not long after her television career.

She starred in a plethora of iconic films, including Smokey and the BanditNorma Rae, Mrs. Doubtfire and Forrest Gump.

The actress recently received the Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award in February of 2023, where she gave a gracious acceptance speech that spoke to her impressive and storied career.

Field had already been awarded a list of awards in her career: two Academy Awards, two BAFTA Film Award nominations, three Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globes, two SAG Awards, including her most recent Life Achievement Award, and a Tony nomination.

A vocal activist, Field has often been described as ageless and talented. Her SAG Achievement Award speech was humble and helped to describe her complicated acting history.

“Offstage I felt shy and careful and hidden. But onstage I never knew what I would say or do. I would surprise myself. I wasn’t looking for the applause, or attention, even though that’s nice,” she confessed. “Acting, to me, has always been about finding those few, precious moments when I feel totally, utterly, sometimes dangerously alive. The task has always been to find a way to get to that.”

Styled in a beautiful black dress with her naturally gray hair, Field looked every inch a picture of beauty and grace.

“They opened and revealed parts of myself I would not have known otherwise. I’ve worked my whole life. In all of these almost 60 years, there is not a day that I don’t feel quietly thrilled to call myself an actor,” she explained.

When Field played Doris Miller in 2016, she spoke to NPR about her character–an aging, eccentric woman:

“I’m an old woman, 70 is old, and that’s okay. I’ve gathered strength behind my years, I owned them, I’ve earned them, I’ve deserved them, I have a right to have them. And I don’t like my neck, I don’t like a lot of things but it’s okay.”

This is not the first time Field has discussed the idea of aging naturally in an interview. Speaking with Good Housekeeping in 2009, she explained how she resisted the urge to get work done throughout her career:

“I see myself on TV and I say, ‘Oh, I wish that weren’t happening to my neck. And your face is falling down, and your eyes are so puffy.’ But then I see some of the women (who have had plastic surgery) who I thought when they were younger were so beautiful. Now I think, Oh, dear, don’t do that! And it seems to be terribly disrespectful to who they are now.”

When everybody on a crowded bus ignored an old lady struggling without a seat, my poor boy gave up his spot for her, not knowing she would make us millionaires the next day.

I sat quietly on the bus, absorbed in my own world, when my son, David, caught my attention by standing from his spot. He had noticed an elderly lady struggling to find a seat amidst the indifference of the crowded bus and offered his own.

“Grandma, would you like to sit in my seat?” David asked, his voice loud and kind. His act of kindness was a small beacon of hope in a world that often felt too harsh. He took her hand gently, helping her navigate through the crowd to the seat he had vacated for her.

“Thank you, sweetheart. God bless you, dear,” the woman said, her smile warming my soul.

I couldn’t hide my pride in my son’s actions as I introduced myself. “Hello, I’m Kristen, David’s mother,” I said, extending a hand.

“I’m Barbara! Nice to meet you, Kristen,” she replied, warmly shaking my hand.

Little did I know that this encounter was about to change my perspective in ways I couldn’t have imagined.

Barbara began talking, praising David for his generous act, which brought tears to my eyes. “You have raised such a wonderful young man. I thought the world had lost its compassion until meeting David,” she shared, as I tried to disguise the moisture.

When Barbara noticed my tears and asked about them, I felt a sudden urge to open up to her.

“My parents died when I was young, so I was raised in an orphanage. David, my son standing there, is the oldest of my five adopted children,” I confessed, the words pouring as I truly needed someone to understand the weight on my shoulders.

Don’t get me wrong. The weight wasn’t a burden at all. It was a gift, but it was also a struggle at times, especially at that moment. Barbara’s face was soft and compassionate as I shared more about my struggles.

“My husband was so supportive, but after he died two years ago, it felt like my world ended. But I found new hope to live with these five kids. And now, my youngest son, Kevin, is battling for his life, and I’m so scared,” I added, sniffing.

Surprisingly, Barbara took my wrist and shared her own struggle: she fell in love with a man who once promised her a world full of riches, only to throw her out when she got pregnant. Still, she was determined to raise that baby with love.

Alas, it was not to be. Barbara’s baby died in childbirth, and since then her life hasn’t been as meaningful as she hoped. My heart broke for her. I wanted to hear more. But the blaring honk of the bus interrupted our moment.

This was our stop. It was time to leave, yet the connection I felt with Barbara was unexpectedly deep.

“I have to leave. We’re visiting Kevin,” I said, standing and quickly gathering my things.

“How can I be of help to you?” Barbara asked.

“Pray for my son. It was nice meeting you, Ms. Barbara,” I found myself saying, more out of a necessity to leave than a desire to part ways.

David and I stepped off the bus, leaving the kind older woman behind, her silhouette framed by the bus window.

As my son and I walked away, I couldn’t shake off the feeling of leaving something important behind. Barbara seemed like a kindred spirit, although we’d led two very different lives. I waved as the bus pulled away, not imagining that our paths would cross again.

Yet, life has a way of surprising us at the most unexpected turns. The next day, when Barbara walked into the hospital where Kevin was being treated, it was as if fate had decided our meeting was just the beginning of a much larger story.

“Ms. Barbara?!” I asked, my mouth opened in shock. “Wha—What are you doing here? Is everything alright?”

Instead of answering, she handed David a box of chocolates and some books, asking him to stay near his brother until we returned.

“But where are we going? Ms. Barbara, where are you taking me?” I wondered as she dragged me away. But she didn’t answer, and then, we reached a store.

“A pawn shop? Why are we here?”

Still, Barbara didn’t reply and pulled me inside. “I want to sell these!” she said to the pawn shop owner, opening the box to reveal an expensive necklace set.

“Are you sure you want to sell them?” the man asked after observing the jewels. “These are rare pieces. You may never get them back.”

“Yes, I want to sell them,” she insisted.

“Give me a second,” the pawnbroker said. “I’ll have to see if I have enough cash.”

An hour later, Barbara handed me a suitcase stashed with money, estimated to be around $1M.

“You sold your jewels for me?” The question escaped my lips in a whisper. “Ms. Barbara, I cannot take this money.”

“What am I going to do with such expensive jewelry? Nothing! Instead of letting them rest in my vault, I wanted to save your son’s life and make your life better…Because I don’t want you to regret it when you’re my age. You are like a daughter to me. I just did what a mother is supposed to do for her child,” Barbara explained, taking my face into her arms affectionately.

New tears gathered in my eyes, as the significance of her actions meant the world, especially to someone who had never had parents or family until I got married and adopted my children. I hugged her and never wanted to let go.

I was able to pay for my son’s heart surgery and set up the rest of my kids for the future. Meanwhile, Barbara’s role in our lives changed from a stranger on a bus to a beloved family member. In a gesture of gratitude, I asked if she wanted to move in with us and not be so alone.

“Will you be my mother and grandma to my children, Ms. Barbara?” I asked her.

She gently touched her heart and sighed, “I have found my purpose in life, at last!” shedding tears of joy.
