Even though she is about to be 90 years old, she still focuses on her career as an actress, not letting anything else get in the way of her passion for acting. In a recent interview, she revealed that while turning 90 years old is indeed a big milestone, she is choosing not to have a lavish celebration for the occasion.

Instead, she once again showed her commitment to her career by sharing that on her birthday, her plans also centered around work. She said, “I’m going to be on a set,”  MacLaine stated. “I’ll be in Atlantic City.”

During the interview, MacLaine revealed that working with Peter Dinklage in American Dreamer was a pleasure. She explained since it had been the first time they had worked together, she had expected some snags. However, the process was incredibly smooth. She said of it, “we really hit it off.”

The 89-year-old actress played the role of Astrid Fanelli, a wealthy widow who felt lonely. The upcoming film delves into the concept of the American dream. “I think that we should care more about what the American democracy means,” she said. “We seem to have forgotten what it means, and I think it’s time we get back into the level of reality of understanding American democracy.”

My parents were more inclined towards the old-fashioned Christmas hits – the likes of Mariah Carey and Wham! were strictly off-limits – so I have a special place in my heart for those ballads that have survived the decades and wake feelings of nostalgia whenever they’re played.

That’s probably why I got all fuzzy inside the first time I heard Carrie Underwood’s take on The Little Drummer Boy, which she sang as a heartwarming duet with her little boy…

The favorite version of this much-loved musical piece is something that differs from person to person based on taste, but the chances are you’ll find aspects to appreciate in all of them. After all, it’s a bona fide classic for a reason.

Yet I can’t deny that I was overcome with an especially warm feeling upon first hearing Carrie Underwood’s cover from 2020, recorded alongside her then-5-year-old son Isaiah.

The study has found that the ideal female body is ‘fuller’ with a ‘curvier shape.’ The study found that the perfect BMI is of 18.85 with a 93 cm bust, a 61 cm waist, and 87 cm hips. The study also found that the hip-to-waist ratio is very important and should be about .65–.75.

A British model named Kelly Brook fits all these measurements quite perfectly. While after looking at her, society may deem her shape to be ‘plump’ according to beauty standards set today, according to science, she has the shape which is most desirable to men.

But when it comes down to it, beauty is subjective. Not everyone has the same taste, and it varies from person to person and what their idea of beauty is.

While this scientific study might show us what, according to science, is the perfect body, it does not mean that everything else is not acceptable or deemed ugly. The study merely shows us that what we perceive as beautiful, a thin woman is not what science considers the only way to be beautiful. In this day and age, where there is an emphasis on diversity in beauty, it is important to recognize that this study shows us exactly that, that there is diversity in what we consider beautiful.

A Pennsylvania woman who began her career scrubbing toilets at McDonalds now owns 12 of the chain’s restaurants.

Tanya Hill-Holliday has spent 44 years climbing the corporate ladder at McDonald’s after joining the crew at a Baltimore restaurant in 1980.

‘I was told I wasn’t supposed to be here I was called every name but my name,’ Hill-Holliday told CBS News Philadelphia.

‘But I kept my head down and kept working’  she explained.

After holding 13 different positions within the company, including vice president, Hill-Holliday took her stock options and purchased her first restaurant, the Rosemont McDonald’s next to Villanova University, in 2005.

Hill-Holliday began working for the fast-food franchise while studying at Morgan State University.

‘I picked up the Yellow Pages at that time, started flipping through and I saw a listing for McDonald’s,’ she recalled.

‘I always enjoyed what I was doing, as difficult as it was to be told, ‘You got to clean a table, you got to clean the toilets, you got to scrub the baseboards. I did it,’ she explained.

Hill-Holliday’s franchise is now worth around $1.5 million, and she oversees more than 600 employees.

She also serves as the National Black McDonald’s Operators Association Chair and CEO of 168 entities across the U.S.

Hill-Holiday says she hopes her journey inspires young people working their first job.

‘Stay motivated, stay encouraged, stay prayed up. I stay prayed up all the time,’ she added.

Hill-Holiday was born in Virginia but now lives in a $700,000 home in Ardmore, Pennsylvania.

Jennifer Lawrence and Emily Blunt were among the many A-listers at rehearsals on Saturday for the upcoming 96th Academy Awards.

Ahead of Oscars Sunday, Lawrence, 33, took to the stage to practice her presentation while Al Pacino, 83, practiced handing out gold statuettes with a bright smile on his face.

Blunt, 41, looked radiant wearing light makeup and a blue tie-dye top as she beamed on stage as her latest film Oppenheimer leads the nominations with 13 nods and she herself is up for the Best Supporting Actress award.

Steven Spielberg bundled up in a cozy bomber jacket and crochet scarf as he also took the stage for the award ceremony, which will be hosted by talk show host Jimmy Kimmel at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 10.

The 77-year-old film director had an envelope in his hand as he practiced presenting an award ahead of the real thing on Sunday.

The Oscars honors the best films of 2023 – with the glittering ceremony held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

The most hotly anticipated movies of the past year – Barbie and Oppenheimer – lead the nominations.

Oppenheimer has bagged 13 nods, including best picture and best actor for Cillian Murphy – who is favorite to win the major category after scooping a BAFTA, a Golden Globe and SAG award for his role as physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer.

The impressive total – which also includes best supporting actor and actress for Robert Downey Jr. and Emily Blunt, as well as best director for Christopher Nolan – is just one nomination short of the all-time record set by Titanic in 1998.

Last year’s other smash hit movie – Barbie – was nominated for eight awards, but also fell victim to notable snubs from the Academy.

Its star Margot Robbie was not nominated for best actress, while Greta Gerwig was not nominated for best director.

Another surprise saw America Ferrera nominated for best supporting actress over her role in Barbie, with pundits saying her character’s impassioned speech on feminism had sealed the deal.

Barbie’s other nominations include best picture, best supporting actor for Ryan Gosling and two nods for best song – including Gosling’s famed ‘I’m Just Ken.’

The second most-nominated movie was Poor Things, a graphic art house movie starring Emma Stone that has wowed critics but so-far failed to set the box office alight.

Stone plays a sex-crazed young woman, with her performance wowing critics. She previously won best actress in 2017 for her performance in La La Land.

For best actor in leading role Bradley Cooper and Cillian Murphy are set to duke it out for the award. Colman Domingo, Paul Giamatti and Jeffrey Wright received nominations as well.

Leonardo DiCaprio was not recognized for his acting on Killers Of The Flower Moon.

Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things took home 11 Oscar nominations and Killers of the Flower Moon landed 10.

Annette Bening, Lily Gladstone, Sandra Huller, Carey Mulligan and Emma Stone have been nominated for best actress in a leading role.

Gladstone is the first Native American nominated for best actress, for her performance in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon – and is the favorite in the category thanks to her wins at the Golden Globes and SAG Awards,

Emily Blunt, Danielle Brooks, America Ferrera, Jodie Foster and Da’Vine Joy Randolph received nominations for best actress in a supporting role.

Joy already has  Golden Globe, Bafta, Critics Choice and Screen Actors Guild awards and is favorite for an Oscar for her performance as a bereaved cook in The Holdovers.

Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer were nominated for best directing, snubbing Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.

Gerwig was nominated for best director in 2018 for her solo directorial debut, Lady Bird. Only three women have won Oscars for best director – Kathryn Bigelow, Chloe Zhao and Jane Campion.

Though Nolan is regarded as the big-budget auteur of his era, he’s never won an Academy Award, nor have any of his films won best picture.

Bradley Cooper was not nominated for directing Maestro but he was recognized for his acting in that bio movie.

American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, Barbie, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Oppenheimer, Past Lives, Poor Things and The Zone of Interest landed best picture nominations.

The 96th Academy Awards will be held on March 10 at 7 pm ET/4pm PT live on ABC, hosted for a fourth time by Jimmy Kimmel.

Kate Middleton, 42, opted for a low-key look in the snap taken by her husband Prince William showing her cuddled up to her children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, Prince Louis, five.

The mother-of-three has stepped back from royal duties since she was admitted to The London Clinic for ‘planned abdominal surgery’ on January 16.

The princess’ absence from royal engagements since the Christmas Day church service at Sandringham has led to huge speculation on social media – but the positive Mother’s Day update has been warmly welcomed by royal fans.

Kensington Palace confirmed Kate’s surgery was successful and on January 29, she returned to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor to be reunited with her children almost two weeks after having the surgery.

Last Monday, she was photographed for the first time since the medical procedure after US gossip website TMZ published pictures of her being driven around Windsor with her mother, Carole Middleton.

In the photo, Kate was wearing dark sunglasses and sat in the passenger seat of a black 4×4 Audi.

The pictures were not published in the UK after Kensington Palace appealed for her to be able to recuperate in private.

But within minutes of the tickets going on sale, there were warnings that the MoD may have ‘jumped the gun’.

Tomorrow, William will attend an event at immersive art venue Frameless in the Marble Arch area of London’s West End, celebrating The Earthshot Prize ‘Launchpad’ project.

This is a new online matchmaking platform for Earthshot projects which can be accessed by investors and philanthropists looking to co-invest and collaborate on environmental ideas.

With the King and Kate away from public-facing duties, the rest of the institution’s working royals will gather in force at Westminster Abbey.

Camilla and William will be accompanied by Edward, Sophie and Anne along with the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent.

A pre-recorded video message from Head of the Commonwealth, Charles, who is undergoing treatment for cancer, will be played during the service this year, Buckingham Palace said.

The annual celebration will draw on the theme of resilience – at a time when the royal family has faced a barrage of health troubles.

But the service will focus on stories of environmental resilience and marine sustainability, through performances representing the five regions of the Commonwealth.

William’s appearance at the televised event – a key part of the royal calendar – alongside Camilla comes after he pulled out of attending his godfather King Constantine of Greece’s memorial service last week at the last minute due to an undisclosed personal matter.
