He’s a chip off the old block.

Like mother, like son.

On the Nov. 27 episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” the Grammy winner shared a video of her son, Remy, 8, warming up the audience before the show by singing Frank Sinatra’s classic “My Way.”

“I planned each charted course/ Each careful step along the byway/ And more, much more than this/ I did it my way,” he sang while Clarkson’s band backed him up and the audience, including Clarkson’s daughter, River, 10, cheered him on.

Clarkson, who shares both kids with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, was a proud mother afterward.

“(He) just walked right in today and said, ‘Who do I need to speak to to sing my song?’ I said, ‘OK, sir,’” she joked. “They’re so fun. I love my kids so much.”

This isn’t the first time one of Clarkson’s kids has shown off the pipes that run in the family. River contributed to her mother’s song “You Don’t Make Me Cry,” from the deluxe version of Clarkson’s 2023 album, “Chemistry.”

“We just loved it and it fit in with the record and she came into the studio and said, ‘Can I sing?’” Clarkson told the 3rd hour of TODAY last year as part of the Citi Concert Series. “And so my producer just took my vocal off completely and just let her sing on the track and she’s just on the whole track. It’s so cute.”

The “Since U Been Gone” singer isn’t necessarily counting on her kids following in her footsteps into the music business, though.

“I’m not going to not push,” she said.

“I’m a parent, whatever you want to do. It’s hard for me to sit here and go ‘don’t do this, it’s a hard industry’ because I’m in it. I do think kids that grow up in it, it’s hard for them not to be inspired by it or want to be a part of it. So I kind of understand that if they do, but also, like, be a teacher or a doctor or anything else.”

Clarkson also brought her kids onstage with her to perform at a concert in 2023.

“It was the most magical thing to be onstage,” she told TODAY last year during the same Citi Concert Series appearance, noting they both “had so much fun.”

Clarkson also joked the kids looked at her like “I was Thor.”

“I felt like I was a superhero to (them). It was the most magical feeling as a parent that they look at you in that way,” she added.

In a celebration that could rival a music festival, tiny Meridian, Mississippi transformed into a sea of 20,000 screaming fans, all gathered to honor Jamal Roberts, their hometown hero and newly crowned American Idol 2025 champion. What started as a heartwarming day quickly became a legendary homecoming that residents — and Jamal himself — will never forget. Early in the day, Jamal returned to the place where it all began: Crestwood Elementary School, where he once served as a beloved P.E. teacher. Students, thinking they were heading into a cafeteria meeting about a kickball game, instead burst into cheers and tears when Jamal walked through the door. One emotional student even ran up on stage to give him a hug — a full-circle moment that melted hearts across social media. But the quiet morning quickly gave way to a full-blown celebration. Jamal led a massive parade through Meridian, waving to fans who lined the streets, cheering, dancing, and waving homemade signs. Then came the concert on City Hall Lawn, a jaw-dropping performance that could be heard across the entire city. Aerial footage shows an astonishing crowd packed shoulder-to-shoulder, singing every lyric as Jamal belted out his now-iconic rendition of The Temptations’ “Just My Imagination” — the same song that helped him seal his Idol victory. Then came the moment that made it official: City Councilwoman Romande Waker took the stage to declare May 14 as “Jamal Roberts Day” in Meridian, presenting him with a proclamation as the crowd roared in approval. As if that weren’t enough, Senator Rod Hickman, representing Mississippi’s District 32, arrived to present Jamal with a proclamation from the Mississippi State Senate, giving him statewide recognition for his incredible talent and positive impact. From humble school gym teacher to national superstar, Jamal Roberts’ journey is more than just a feel-good story — it’s a cultural moment. His return home didn’t just spark celebration — it lit a fire of hope, pride, and unity in a town that has now been etched into music history forever.  Watch the unforgettable highlights of Jamal’s parade, concert, and official “Jamal Roberts Day” moment in the FULL VIDEO below!  https://youtu.be/Ld52-MkGxEk
