Like mother, like son.
On the Nov. 27 episode of âThe Kelly Clarkson Show,â the Grammy winner shared a video of her son, Remy, 8, warming up the audience before the show by singing Frank Sinatraâs classic âMy Way.â
âI planned each charted course/ Each careful step along the byway/ And more, much more than this/ I did it my way,â he sang while Clarksonâs band backed him up and the audience, including Clarksonâs daughter, River, 10, cheered him on.
Clarkson, who shares both kids with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, was a proud mother afterward.
â(He) just walked right in today and said, âWho do I need to speak to to sing my song?â I said, âOK, sir,ââ she joked. âTheyâre so fun. I love my kids so much.â
This isnât the first time one of Clarksonâs kids has shown off the pipes that run in the family. River contributed to her motherâs song âYou Donât Make Me Cry,â from the deluxe version of Clarksonâs 2023 album, âChemistry.â
âWe just loved it and it fit in with the record and she came into the studio and said, âCan I sing?ââ Clarkson told the 3rd hour of TODAY last year as part of the Citi Concert Series. âAnd so my producer just took my vocal off completely and just let her sing on the track and sheâs just on the whole track. Itâs so cute.â

The âSince U Been Goneâ singer isnât necessarily counting on her kids following in her footsteps into the music business, though.
âIâm not going to not push,â she said.
âIâm a parent, whatever you want to do. Itâs hard for me to sit here and go âdonât do this, itâs a hard industryâ because Iâm in it. I do think kids that grow up in it, itâs hard for them not to be inspired by it or want to be a part of it. So I kind of understand that if they do, but also, like, be a teacher or a doctor or anything else.â
Clarkson also brought her kids onstage with her to perform at a concert in 2023.
âIt was the most magical thing to be onstage,â she told TODAY last year during the same Citi Concert Series appearance, noting they both âhad so much fun.â
Clarkson also joked the kids looked at her like âI was Thor.â
âI felt like I was a superhero to (them). It was the most magical feeling as a parent that they look at you in that way,â she added.
