Many of Hollywood’s biggest stars attended last night’s Academy Awards, but one actor truly stole the show: he had a prime seat, every shot of him went viral, and host Jimmy Kimmel said he gave “the performance of the year.”

No, it wasn’t Ryan Gosling — it was Messi, the canine star of the acclaimed French drama Anatomy of a Fall, who won the hearts of movie fans everywhere this awards season.

Messi is a 7-year-old border collie, owned and trained by Laura Martin Contin, who has had him since he was a puppy. She describes him as a “very smart,” “good dog” who “learns easily,” but his on-screen talents weren’t always recognized.

“Messi was a misunderstood artist. He had a lot of trouble getting roles,” Martin Contin told GQ. “He always went to the end of the auditions but was never accepted often because of his [unusual] look and his eyes.”

Messi worked in commercials, but had his big breakthrough after being cast in the French courtroom drama Anatomy of a Fall, directed by Justine Triet. The film is about a woman (played by Oscar nominee Sandra Hüller) trying to prove her innocence in her husband’s death. Messi was cast as Snoop, the guide dog of the main character’s blind son.

Snoop was a dream role for a canine actor, and Messi got to flex his thespian chops in some pivotal scenes — including one where the dog nearly dies of an overdose after eating aspirin. That one scene required two months of training.

“It had to happen in steps,” the trainer told IndieWire. “First, the simple laying down and having his head kind of immobile. [I] started there and then [we worked on] lifting the head and just letting it fall back without resistance.”

“He had to let his whole body fall to appear inert,” she told GQ. “I added cries and emotions so that he knows not to move despite the noise.

That hard work paid off: the scene is riveting and realistic, and many admiring critics and audience members were left in awe at the dog’s performance.

Anatomy of a Fall was met with widespread critical acclaim and won the prestigious Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival — and Messi won the Palm Dog Award, given to the festival’s best dog performance.

It was later nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture. While Messi was not eligible for any nominations, it didn’t stop him from being an awards season favorite. Messi appeared at the annual Oscars Luncheon, where even stars like Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper were eager to meet him.

Fans were disappointed when it was initially announced that Messi would not be able to attend the Oscars. However, it was soon revealed that the dog would be part of the show after all.

A preview clip showed host Jimmy Kimmel rehearsing jokes with Messi in his dressing room:

And Messi proved to be the viral hit of last night’s Oscars telecast. In his opening monologue, Kimmel praised Messi’s performance and used it as the basis for some of his jokes.

“Messi, who even though he’s a dog, may have given the performance of the year in Anatomy of a Fall,” Kimmel said. “Messi has an overdose scene, if you’ve seen it you’ve known it. It’s incredible… Honestly I haven’t seen a French actor eat his own vomit like that since Gérard Depardieu.”

Another viral moment showed Messi “clapping” after Robert Downey Jr. won Best Supporting Actor. And at the end of the show, Messi peed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame star of Matt Damon, part of a long-running joke feud between Kimmel and Damon.

These bits were pre-taped and spliced into the show, so it’s not clear how much of the ceremony he actually took part in, but either way he was the breakout star of the evening.

Messi doesn’t have any roles lined up after his acclaimed star turn in Anatomy of a Fall, but it’s safe to say that he’s now one of Hollywood’s most beloved doggy actors.

Could he be on the Oscars stage one day? The Academy currently has no category for animal actors, but Messi’s trainer says they should consider a change.

“Why not?” Laura Martin Contini told USA Today. “It does take a lot of work to accomplish what looks natural on screen,” adding that it “would bring attention to the profession itself.”

But deep down Messi is more interested in chasing balls than accolades, and lives a normal life like any other dog.

“We live in the countryside and Messi loves going for walks and playing ball,” Martin Contini told GQ. “For him the ball is sacred! Otherwise at home he is a fairly calm dog. The quiet force.”

Paul Alexander, 76, has lived a life unlike many others. For the majority of his life, he’s lived with an iron lung, and he’s one of the last people in the world still using the respirator which dates back to the 1928.

Despite his unusual circumstances, he’s lived an incredibly full life and he’s never accepted anything less.

When Paul was just six years old he ran into his family’s home in a suburb of Dallas, Texas, and told his mother he wasn’t feeling well. Since his birth in 1946, Paul had been a normal, vibrant, and active child – but now something was clearly wrong.

“Oh my God, not my son,” Paul recalled his mother saying.

Following doctor’s orders, he spent the next several days in bed recovering, but the boy clearly had polio, and he was not getting better. Less than a week after he started feeling sick he couldn’t hold anything nor could he swallow or breathe

His parents finally rushed to the hospital where he joined countless other children experiencing similar symptoms.

Before vaccines were available for polio, more than 15,000 people were paralyzed from the virus. Polio, an incredibly contagious infection, can spread even when an infected person has no symptoms.

The symptoms of polio include fatigue, fever, stiffness, muscle pain, and vomiting. In rarer cases, polio can also cause paralysis and death.

Shutterstock

Paul was examined by a doctor and pronounced dead, but then another doctor took a look at him and gave him another chance at life.

The second doctor performed an emergency tracheotomy, and following the surgery, Paul was placed inside an iron lung.

When he eventually woke up, three days later, he was among several rows of children also encased in iron lungs.

”I didn’t know what had happened. I had all kinds of imaginings, like I’d died. I kept asking myself: Is this what death is? Is this a coffin? Or have I gone to some undesirable place?” the Texas native told As It Happens host Carol Off in 2017.

Paul, who also had a tracheotomy, couldn’t speak, making the whole event even more terrifying.

“I tried to move, but I couldn’t move. Not even a finger. I tried to touch something to figure it out, but I never could. So it was pretty strange.”

The machine, invented in the late 1920s, was the first to ventilate a human being. It was often referred to in the early days as the “Drinker respirator” the device is hermetically sealed from the neck down and creates a negative pressure in the chamber that draws air into the patient’s lungs. If it generates overpressure, the air is forced out of the lungs again, and the patient exhales.

Paul spent 18 months inside the metal canister recovering from the initial infection. And he wasn’t alone. The year Paul was infected by the virus, 1952, was a very dark year looking at the statistics.

Almost 58,000 people, primarily children, contracted the virus in the U.S in 1952. Sadly, 3,145 of them died.

“As far as you can see, rows and rows of iron lungs. Full of children,” he said, according to The Guardian.

While some may have given up their will to live, it only fueled Paul’s will

He would hear doctors say, ”He’s going to die today” or “He shouldn’t be alive” whenever they passed by him, and he wanted to prove them wrong.

“Iron Lung” victims at Baltimore’s Children’s Hospital have a television set now, thanks to the generosity of the Baltimore Rotary Club. This is probably the first set used to relieve the tedium of polio victims. Mirrors on the lungs permit the patients to see daily broadcasts.

And that’s exactly what he did!

In 1954 he was discharged from the hospital, but he quickly learned his life was drastically different than before.

“People didn’t like me very much back then,” he said during a video interview in 2021. “I felt like they were uncomfortable around me.”

But with the help of a therapist named Mrs. Sullivan, who visited him twice a week, little by little his life began to improve. His therapist made a deal with him that if he could “frog-breathe,” a technique where you trap air in your mouth by flattening your tongue and opening your throat, without the iron lung for three minutes she’d get him a puppy.

Getty Images

It was hard work, but within a year Paul was able to spend more and more time outside of the iron lung.

When he was 21 he became the first person to graduate a Dallas high school – with honors! – without ever physically attending class. He then set his sights on college, and after several rejections, he was accepted to Southern Methodist University.

“They said I was too crippled and did not have the vaccination,” he recalled. “Two years of tormenting them, they accepted me on two conditions. One, that I take the polio vaccine, and two that a fraternity would be responsible for me.”

He went on to graduate from Southern Methodist University and then attended law school at the University of Texas at Austin. He passed the bar and became a lawyer in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

“And I was a pretty damn good one too!”

Even after a 30-year long career in the courtroom, he continued to keep busy by writing a book, which he typed all by himself using a pen attached to a stick.

According to a Gizmodo, Paul is believed to be one of the last people alive today who still lives in the near-obsolete machine. The 76-year-old is confined to his old iron lung around the clock and has spent much of his life in a can.

”I have travelled with it —  put it in a truck, took it with me. I’ve gone to college with it, lived in a dorm. That freaked everybody out,” he said.

Paul’s type of iron lung hasn’t been manufactured for half a century because – ventilators are now much more advanced and sophisticated.

But the polio survivor prefers his metal chamber, even though new technology is available. But the Dallas attorney had to make a desperate YouTube announcement when the metal lung almost broke down seven years ago. Fortunately, there are still abandoned machines all over the country, so many spare parts are out there. Paul has also had help from enthusiasts who love approaching old technology.

The suit fits!! Please join us this Friday at Maggiano’s Northpark, 11:30, for World Polio Day. Our amazing speaker Paul…

”A lot of people who had polio and they’re dead. What did they do with the iron lung? I’ve found them in barns. I found them in garages. I’ve found them in junk shops. Not much, but enough to scrounge [for] parts,” he says.

Paul, who has outlived both his parents and his older brother, is now working on a second book!

Paul said he’s been able to live such a fulfilling life because he “never gave up.”

Rotarians are still buzzing after World Polio Day. If a man like Paul Alexander-in an iron lung can earn a law degree and practice law-we can end polio now. Anything is possible!

“I wanted to accomplish the things I was told I couldn’t accomplish,” he said, “and to achieve the dreams I dreamed.”

Polio has effectively been wiped out of the United States since 1979. However, vaccine-derived cases of polio crop up every now and then which are still a cause for concern.

Paul is definitely an inspiration. He has crafted his life against all odds and has a courageous and compelling story that I hope everyone who reads this will share.

His determination shows that the only limits are the limits we place on ourselves. Please share his story with all your friends and family to inspire others.

“I don’t want to sit next to that… woman!” Franklin Delaney almost yelled at the flight attendant who had accompanied an older woman and told him she was seated next to him.

“Sir, this is her seat. We can’t do anything about it,” the stewardess said gently, trying to persuade the businessman who had a scowl on his face.

“That can’t be true. These seats are way too expensive, and she couldn’t possibly afford one! Look at her clothes!” Franklin almost yelled, pointing at the older woman’s clothes. Stella was ashamed. She was wearing her best clothes and hated that others knew her outfit was cheap.

Other passengers in business class turned to look at them, and the older woman, Stella Taylor, looked down at her feet. The altercation continued, and it was delaying filling the plane. Several other flight attendants showed up, trying to calm Franklin down.

Surprisingly, other passengers agreed with the businessman. They agreed that the woman couldn’t possibly have paid for the seat and told her to get out. It was the most humiliating experience of Stella’s life, and finally, she relented.

“Miss, it’s ok. If you have another seat in economy, I’ll stay there. I spent all my savings on this seat, but it’s better not to inconvenience others,” she said, placing her hand on the stewardess’ arm gently.

The woman had already been so kind to her because Stella got lost at the airport. She was 85 years old and had never traveled in her lifetime. Therefore, the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport had been pretty confusing. But the airline finally assigned her an attendant, who accompanied her through the entire process, and they finally reached her flight, which was departing for New York.

The flight attendant didn’t want to fight with the businessman who wouldn’t believe Stella was seated next to him, although they even showed him her boarding pass. The woman turned to Stella with a severe scowl, although the anger was not directed at Stella.

“No, ma’am. You paid for this seat, and you deserve to sit here, no matter what anyone says,” the flight attendant insisted.

She turned towards the man again and threatened to call airport security to escort him out. That’s when the man sighed in defeat and let Stella sit next to him. The plane took off, and Stella got so spooked that she dropped her purse.

Luckily, the man was not completely unreasonable and helped her retrieve her things. But her ruby locket fell out, and the man whistled at the item. “Wow, this is something else,” he commented.

“What do you mean?” Stella asked.

“I’m an antique jeweler, and this locket is insanely valuable. Those are definitely real rubies. Am I wrong?” the man said, handing her the locket back. Stella grabbed it back and stared at it.

“Honestly, I have no idea. My father gave it to my mother so many years ago, and she gave it to me when my father didn’t return home,” Stella said.

“What happened?” the man asked. “I’m sorry. My name is Franklin Delaney. I want to apologize for my earlier behavior. Some complicated things are happening in my life, and I shouldn’t have acted that way. May I ask what happened to your father?”

“My father was a fighter pilot during World War II. When America joined the war, he left home but gave this locket to my mother as a promise he would return. They loved each other dearly. I was only four years old at the time, but I remember that day clearly. He never returned,” Stella explained.

“That’s terrible.”

“It is. War is senseless. Nothing comes from it. And my mother never recovered from the loss. She was a shell of herself, and we barely scraped by. But even when things were dire at home, she never thought to sell it. She gave it to me when I was ten years old and told me to keep it. But I never thought to sell it either, although I’ve been through financial difficulties too. Honestly, its real value is inside,” Stella revealed and smiled at Franklin as she opened it.

Two pictures were inside the locket. One was sepia-toned and featured a couple, and the other one showed a baby. “These are my parents. Look how in love they were,” Stella said nostalgically.

Franklin nodded, not saying anything, but looked at the other picture. “Is that your grandchild?” he wondered suddenly.

“No, that’s my son, and actually, he’s the reason I’m on this flight,” the older woman replied.

“You’re going to see him?”

“No, this is it. Do you remember how I said I had financial troubles? Well, I got pregnant many years ago. I was in my 30s, and my boyfriend disappeared. I had my son for several months, but it was clear that I wouldn’t be able to give him a good life. I didn’t have a support system. My mother had already passed years earlier after suffering from dementia, so I gave him up for adoption,” Stella revealed.

“You two reconnected later?”

“I tried. I found him thanks to those DNA test things. I asked a neighbor kid to help me email him. But Josh — that’s his name — replied that he was fine and didn’t need me. I tried several times to contact him and asked for forgiveness, but he never answered my emails again.”

Franklin scratched his head in confusion. “I don’t understand what you’re doing on this flight then. You said you were here for him.”

“He’s the pilot on this flight. I’m here because today is his birthday. He was born on January 22, 1973, and I might not have long on this earth, so I wanted to spend at least one of his birthdays with him. This is the only way,” Stella explained and smiled at Franklin before turning her eyes to the locket again.

She didn’t notice Franklin wiping an errant tear off his face or the fact that some flight attendants and several passengers had heard the story. After a few minutes, one stewardess went into the cockpit.

“Anyway, this is one of his longest routes, so I get to spend five hours near my son,” Stella said, finally closing the locket and placing it in her bag.

In her opinion, those five hours passed quickly, and when the pilot’s intercom came on, he announced they would arrive at JFK soon. But instead of turning off the communication, he continued his message.

“In addition, I want everyone to welcome my birth mother, whose flying on my route for the first time. Hey, Mom. Wait for me once the plane lands,” John said through the intercom. Stella’s eyes watered, and Franklin smiled, ashamed that he had behaved so rudely earlier. But at least, he apologized already.

When John landed the plane, he exited the cockpit, breaking protocol, and went right to Stella with his arms wide open, hugging her fiercely. All the passengers and flight attendants cheered and clapped for them.

No one heard it, but John whispered in Stella’s ears, thanking her for doing what was best for him all those years ago. After replying to her first email, John realized he was not really angry with his mother for giving him up but didn’t know what to say to her. So he apologized for not answering her other emails and not listening to her before. She told him there was nothing to be sorry for, as she understood why.

What can we learn from this story?

  • Never be rude to strangers no matter what. Franklin was rude to the woman for no valid reason and was ashamed of his actions later.
  • Forgiveness is divine. Stella was quick to forgive Franklin for his actions and held no grudge against the man seated next to her.

Jennifer, then 14 years old, also remembers her last interaction with her father. It was the night before her 14th birthday, February 3, 1994, and John had just returned home to celebrate with her. Engrossed in studying for a vocabulary test, she admitted to feeling slightly distant during their phone call. Despite this, she exchanged brief pleasantries with her father before hanging up to resume her studies.

Reflecting on these final moments shared with their father, Christopher and Jennifer grapple with the weight of their words and the significance of their last exchange. While their interactions may have seemed ordinary then, they now hold a profound significance.

For Christopher, the simple yet heartfelt expression of love and affection from his father serves as a lasting reminder of their bond and unconditional love. Despite the briefness of their conversation, the sentiment conveyed in those final words remains etched in his memory, a source of comfort and solace in the years that followed.

As the children navigate the complexities of grief and loss, they find solace in the memories of their father and the love he bestowed upon them. Their shared experiences prove the enduring bond they shared with their father.

In the aftermath of John’s passing, Christopher and Jennifer hold onto the memories of their final conversations with their father, finding comfort in the knowledge that his love will always remain with them. They always pay tributes to him on social media In 2024, to mark the anniversary of his death, they did so again.

Christopher shared a picture of his father, and in the caption, he wrote, “All my love to my father today. #johncandy.” Jennifer also shared a picture of her family, and in the caption, she stated, “30 years ago today … feels like both a lifetime with and without you . Miss you and love you always ❤️ #johncandy.”

Jennifer has been complimented for looking like her father. In a post she shared where she was honored by Canadians Abroad, fans took to the comments section to state her resemblance with her father.

The post received comments such as, “She looks lovely and alot like her dad❤️,” “Wow you look exactly like your dad!!😮😍 twins 🙌❤❤ rip to the best actor,” and “Wow you look like your father and yes your very beautiful too 👍,” among others.

This is not the first time Jennifer has been said to resemble her father. She and her brother bear striking resemblances to their late father, a fact that has often been a topic of conversation among fans and acquaintances.

While Christopher initially grappled with being constantly mistaken for his father, he has since learned to accept and embrace their shared features as a testament to their familial bond.

In contrast, Jennifer has always embraced her resemblance to her father, viewing it as a connection to her roots and a source of pride. She finds comfort in the similarities between herself and her father, cherishing the moments when others remark on their shared traits, such as their infectious laughter.

John’s enduring legacy in the entertainment industry transcends his illustrious career, extending to the next generation through the efforts of Jennifer and Christopher. They have carved their own paths in the acting world, showcasing their talents on television and the big screen.

Despite their famous surname, Jennifer and Christopher have worked diligently to establish themselves as individuals, never relying solely on their family name for success.

For Jennifer, hosting Couch Candy, a monthly talk show at Second City Hollywood, serves as a platform to honor her father’s memory while showcasing her unique talents. Through her interviews with stars who worked with her father, she pays tribute to his contributions to the industry while forging her identity as a host and entertainer.

Similarly, Christopher has made strides in his acting career. He is also a talented musician. Christopher and John’s physical similarities constantly remind the younger Candy of his father’s profound impact on him, personally and professionally.

As Jennifer and Christopher continue to navigate their respective careers, they carry the legacy of their father’s talent and charisma. In addition to their professional endeavors, they have embraced their roles as parents and partners, further solidifying their commitment to carrying on their father’s legacy of love and family.

The actress’s marriage to Bryan Sullivan and the birth of their son, Finley John William Sullivan, in 2018 symbolize the continuation of the Candy family lineage. Jennifer Candy-Sullivan, who turned 44 in February 2024, married her real estate agent husband in 2012.

When she celebrated her ninth wedding anniversary in October 2021, she wrote, “Happy 9years @therealsullyestate ! So happy to have you by my side year by year. So much in 9 years. We said goodbye to old homes and welcomed new ones. […] Here’s to 9 more years and counting. Love you to the moon and back !”

The couple welcomed their son on November 4, 2018, and for his fifth birthday in 2023, Jennifer celebrated her son on Instagram, writing, “Someone pinch me ! This guy is 5 today ! Let the festivities begin ! Happy Birthday to this amazing, sweet , smart, funny and lovable guy . Love you with our hearts ! #FINLEY.”

Similarly, Christopher’s relationship with his partner, Ryann Nicole Bosetti, and his participation in marathons reflect his dedication to living a fulfilling and meaningful life, inspired by the values instilled in him by his father.

On February 12, 2024, he celebrated his third anniversary with his partner and took to Instagram to celebrate their love. He wrote, “3 years with this lovely soul. ❤️❤️❤️.” Ryann has always supported Christopher, and he never fails to appreciate her efforts.

Victoria Beckham’s recent Instagram post has set the internet abuzz. The fashion icon and former Spice Girl shared a heartwarming snapshot featuring her husband, David Beckham, and three of their four children—Brooklyn, Cruz, and Harper Beckham, who attracted the attention of the internet.

The fashionable choices of the Beckham children were as noteworthy as their presence. However, it was Harper’s appearance that truly captured the spotlight. The youngest Beckham and only daughter of the family, Harper looked all grown up in a maxi black dress.

Her attire, which boasted long sleeves and a body-hugging silhouette, was paired with a black bag slung over her shoulder and contrasted with white chunky sneakers. Wearing her hair down, parted right in the middle, Harper’s look was a testament to her emerging sense of style as a pre-teen.

Victoria’s Instagram post quickly became a topic of conversation among her followers, many of whom were taken aback by Harper’s grown-up appearance. Comments like “Where is Harper? I can’t recognize her,” “I love that Harper uses Jordans and Nike sneakers,” and “Harper looks grown up now,” filled the comment section.

One person exclaimed, “Harper all grown up omgg I feel so old [sic],” and another admiringly stating“Harper pretty lady.”

Harper and her family gathered to support Victoria at the Victoria Beckham AW24 show during Paris Fashion Week. Besides the kids, Brooklyn’s wife, Nicola Peltz, was also present, marking a nearly complete family portrait, except for Romeo Beckham, who was noticeably absent. Victoria’s caption encapsulated the moment perfectly as she wrote, “Always there to support me x I love you all so so much!! Kisses.”

Harper’s brothers looked equally fashionable as Brooklyn opted for a casual, yet chic ensemble with a black unzipped jacket, a plain tee underneath, paired with black baggy pants, and black shoes to round off the look.

Cruz, on the other hand, went for a more formal vibe with a navy blue suit adorned with white stripes, a bold red tie, brown suspenders, and light shades, exuding classic charm with a modern twist.

Despite the spotlight, Harper, still a pre-teen, is under the protective wings of her parents. Victoria and David, veterans of the entertainment and sports industries, are acutely aware of the potential for harsh criticism in the public domain. Her mom also knows that body shaming is widely felt on the internet.

Yet, Harper remains shielded from the direct impact of social media scrutiny.”Harper isn’t on social media, so we don’t have to worry about that just yet,” Victoria said. “But seeing how cruel people can be, yes it really does [concern me]. She’s at that age where her body is going to start changing, but it’s about making sure that we communicate a lot as a family and she surrounds herself with nice friends.”

Harper’s approach to fashion and self-presentation is modest and grounded, as evidenced by a conversation she had with her mother about Victoria’s Spice Girls attire, which Harper found too revealing.

“She’s not one of these kids who are going out with a full face of make-up and a crop top. She actually said to me recently, ‘Mummy, I’ve seen some pictures of you when you were in the Spice Girls and your skirts were just unacceptable. They were just too short,” Victoria shared. Harper’s father immediately agreed.

David, also a doting parent, has shown his protective side as a father to Harper. He once shared a light-hearted Instagram post about Harper mentioning a crush, showcasing his playful yet protective fatherly instincts. “This is daddy’s face,” he wrote alongside angry emojis.

The bond David shares with all his children, particularly Harper, is evident in their shared activities and public appearances. Despite facing undue criticism for showing affection to his daughter, David has stood firm in his belief in expressing love openly, highlighting the warmth and closeness of the Beckham family unit.

David Beckham once faced backlash for sharing a photo of kissing Harper on the lips. After noticing the growing concerns, the athlete addressed the issue and defended himself in a Facebook live, explaining why he shows such gestures all all his kids.

The Beckhams, as a family, embody a blend of public prominence and private warmth. Their mutual support, both at family events and on social media, alongside their handling of public scrutiny, paints a picture of unity and affection.

Bradley Cooper made a heartwarming appearance at the 2024 Oscars, not with a Hollywood starlet by his side, but with his beloved mother, Gloria Campano. In what turned into a memorable outing, Cooper, dressed in a double-breasted black suit from Louis Vuitton, was accompanied by Campano, who at 83, turned heads in her chic ensemble.

One fan noted, “This is cute. He looks like his mom too,” highlighting the resemblance between Cooper and Campano. Another, initially mistaking Campano for another celebrity, exclaimed, “I swear I thought that was Jennifer Aniston.” Another joked “He’s got a pocket mom” as a lighthearted way to reference Campano’s stature in comparison to her son’s.

However, not all comments were in favor of Cooper’s choice of date. Some saw it as an opportunity to critique, with remarks like “Good grief, can’t he get another date?…Mama’s boy” and suggestions that it was time for Cooper to grow up and leave his mother at home when he attended awards ceremonies. One even thought that the reason Cooper could not keep a relationship was because of his relationship with his mother.

Despite the varied reactions, it’s evident that Campano holds a special place in Cooper’s life. Not only is she a significant figure due to her career as a former NBC affiliate, but she has also recently moved in with Cooper in Los Angeles. This decision reflects Cooper’s dedication to his family, as he openly cherishes the close relationship he shares with his mother.

“I love having my mother living with me. I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Cooper shared, emphasizing the deep bond they share. This connection extends beyond daily living, as Cooper often invites his mother to accompany him on his travels, including a month spent together in Paris.

Cooper’s close relationship with his mother provides a window into how he navigates the challenges of life, including his battles with depression and anxiety. The passing of his father in 2011 marked a significant turning point for Cooper, reshaping his perspective death, which he previously feared.

It’s within this context that Campano’s presence at the Oscars, and in Cooper’s life more broadly, takes on added significance. For Cooper, having his mother by his side is not just a gesture of affection; it’s a testament to the strength and comfort derived from their familial bond.

As previously reported on January 8:

Bradley Cooper was one of the many actors who attended this year’s Golden Globes. While others made headlines for their new looks, his presence was highlighted because of his date.

The “A Star is Born” actor was joined by his mother, Gloria Cooper, now in her 80s, who looked radiant on the red carpet. Several news outlets captured the duo’s sweet moments together, and they posted snippets of the event on social media, which sparked a wave of positive comments celebrating the duo’s adorable mother-son relationship.

After the red carpet event, Bradley, who enjoys keeping his personal life private, and his mom were spotted entering the famous family-managed restaurant Giorgio Baldi.

The Golden Globes event was not the first time Bradley showcased his close relationship with his mother. During the pandemic, the actor quarantined with Gloria and shared their quarantine experience, emphasizing the strong bond between the actor and his mother.

Amidst the height of the pandemic, he, his daughter, and their two dogs stayed under one roof. None of them left for a while as an added layer of protection for Gloria, who had a colostomy bag and was in danger of complications from the virus.

“We live in a little townhouse. Thankfully, there’s a backyard. I’m running a one-man preschool. We get up, we do swim class in the bathtub,” the actor shared.

Although Bradley Cooper is dedicated to his craft as an actor, he is also a devoted father who once left a press conference after receiving an emergency call from his daughter’s school.

The information is said to come from a Palace source, who supposedly told the National Enquirer that though the Princess of Wales hasn’t made a concrete decision one way or the other yet, the constant pressure of royal life has exacted a heavy toll on her.

As a result, Kate continues to push back the date upon which she’ll return to royal life following her disappearance from the spotlight back in January after a “planned abdominal procedure”.

Given the protracted nature of Kate’s recovery from surgery – the Palace outlined early on that her return would not come this side of Easter – it’s been heavily speculated that her condition must be serious.

That, coupled with the general dearth of information shared by the Royal Family, has birthed a maelstrom of conjecture that the Palace have been trying desperately to keep on top of.

Their cause was hardly helped this weekend when the first official photo of Kate Middleton, intended to celebrate Mother’s Day in the UK, was withdrawn by multiple news agencies amid claims that the image had been “manipulated”.

Kate later confessed to having self-edited the photo in question, but the fact remains that there’s enough question marks surrounding the Princess of Wales’s whereabouts and well being these last two months to ensure that very few people – if any at all – are prepared to take the Palace at their word when they say that all is well.

In any case, the aforementioned report in RadarOnline states that Kate is now weighing up whether or not to step away from her royal duties entirely, and that’s a deliberation that has rocked her marriage to Prince William, heir to the throne.

“Kate’s desperate struggle with the constant pressures of life in the royal fishbowl has clearly taken a terrible toll on her physical and mental health,” a senior palace source is reported to have told the National Enquirer.

“She spent weeks staying out of the public eye after her operations — and it’s only strengthened her resolve to quit,” the source continued.

The same source went on to reveal that William is “beside himself” over the idea that Kate might want out.

“William is beside himself over her decision,” the source said. “He’s stunned his wife could ever consider such a move.

“He made sure she knew what she was getting into when she married him and she’s done a brilliant job. He’s concerned she’s become emotionally unstable, but she insists she’s finally seeing clearly!”

Wow! Are you prepared to believe that Kate Middleton is considering stepping away from royal duties? Let us know in the comments.

Parveen Kaswan, a forest ranger in the Indian Foreign Service, posted a video of Indian elephants performing a human-like funeral service for a baby elephant last Friday.

Kawan’s video has gone viral as stunned social media users flocked to express their amazement and sympathy for the elephants.

The footage, posted on Twitter, shows an elephant emerge from some bushes holding the body of a dead baby elephant in its trunk.

The adult elephant laid its body down and guarded it as it waited for more elephants to join. Walking in a line like a funeral procession, more elephants arrived and surrounded the baby elephant.

The original elephant then lifted the baby once more, other elephants following behind.

The Twitter post garnered more than 5,000 re-tweets and over 12,000 likes on the platform.

Elephants have previously been observed grieving their dead, not unlike how humans have.

Gray hair in Hollywood often sparks conversation, revealing the industry’s complex relationship with aging. Celebrities facing criticism for showcasing their natural grays have flipped the narrative, clapping back at the naysayers and championing self-acceptance.

Here are some of the show business stars who have had their fair share of harsh online criticism regarding their physical appearance throughout the years.

Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker, renowned for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in “Sex and the City,” faced backlash for displaying her gray hair make-up free while dining with Andy Cohen once.

Critics labeled her old, prompting Cohen, who also has silver hair, to denounce the comments as “misogynistic,” as he never received the same criticism for his hair.

In response, Parker, 58, articulated her views on aging in an interview, questioning why people derive pleasure from others’ discomfort with aging.

The actress expressed, “It almost feels as if people don’t want us to be perfectly OK with where we are, as if they almost enjoy us being pained by who we are today, whether we choose to age naturally and not look perfect, or whether you do something if that makes you feel better.”

In addition, she asserted, “I know what I look like… What am I going to do about it? Stop aging? Disappear?” Being in her late 50s, Parker emphasized her comfort with her appearance and aging, highlighting a refusal to obsess over it. “I like to be graceful with myself. I’m not delusional. I know that age adds up…” said the award-winning Hollywood A-list star.

Diane Keaton

Like Parker, Diane Keaton has navigated the complexities of aging in the public eye with remarkable dignity. At 77, Keaton showcased her gray hair at the 2014 Golden Globes, receiving praise for aging naturally.

Online users reportedly loved the esteemed veteran star’s look so much that they even prompted blog posts on how to achieve her stylish silver hair.

An advocate for aging gracefully, Keaton, now 78 years old, has voiced her acceptance of cosmetic procedures but prefers to showcase her “battle scars.”

“I don’t see anything wrong with face-lifts or Botox or fillers. They just erase the hidden battle scars. I intend to wear mine, sort of,” said the Academy Award-winning actres

Reflecting on aging, she contemplates the quality of life in later years, stressing the challenges older individuals face in remaining connected with society.

Jennifer Aniston

Similarly, Jennifer Aniston has faced her own journey with aging under the Hollywood spotlight. Aniston, celebrated for her role in “Friends,” showcased her gray hair in 2023, leading to mixed reactions online.

Initially resistant to graying, Aniston’s embrace of her natural hair color sparked debate among fans, with some applauding her courage and others critiquing her appearance.

“Anyone would think going gray was an anamomaly for tv/movie stars seriously!! We better give Jennifer a plack/award for it she’s soooo brave it’s never heard of [sic],” one person wrote.

Meanwhile, some of the TV star’s fans raved about her new look, complimenting her for going gray. “Well done for allowing gray to come through – refreshing,” said one person. “Aside from some bad lip work, she looks amazing,” another individual commented.

Some people mentioned that Aniston looks even more beautiful with gray hair, while others stated she looks as gorgeous as usual. “I am sure she entered the gray hair stage a while back – she’s just starting to embrace it,” an online user said.

However, others believe the movie star going gray would ruin her overall appearance. One social media user advised Aniston, “Nah. Dye it. I know, it’s empowering and all that nonsense. Do yourself a favor and make it blonde.” Someone else who disliked Aniston’s gray look told her “Gray hair doesn’t suit you yet. Save it for later plz.”

Now 55, the Emmy Award winner credits her Greek genes for her ageless beauty. She advised people to stay hydrated and use good face products, which have also played a part in her young-looking appearance. “Don’t overproduct, that’s the other thing. Getting proper sleep is always important,” she added.

Aniston has been vocal about the pressures of agelessness in Hollywood, advocating for natural beauty and condemning social media trolls for their harsh criticism of celebrities’ appearances.

Keanu Reeves’ Girlfriend Alexandra Grant

In a parallel narrative, Keanu Reeves and his partner Alexandra Grant exemplify the strength found in defying conventional expectations together. The couple has faced scrutiny over Grant’s gray hair since their relationship went public.

Grant, who embraced her natural hair color after years of dyeing, has been criticized for looking older than her age. One person on X (formerly known as Twitter), commented, “They say Keanu Reeves’ girlfriend is 46… She looks old as my grandma.”

Another person asked why Reeves’ girlfriend looked older than she actually was: “Why 46 years old Keanu Reeves’ girlfriend looks like she’s 70?” On the other hand, some people commended Grant’s courage to go gray on The Talk’s post, but others said they would never risk going gray.

One online user noted that Grant looked mature for her age because of the gray hair, adding: “[…] But not everyone looks their age. I’m in my late 50’s, and I look a lot younger. Anyhow, if they’re happy, who are we to judge.”

Other people commended Grant for going gray with one individual writing“I don’t have the guts to go gray. But I think it’s crazy how people are making harsh comments regarding Her hair! “

In a December 2019 Instagram post, Grant, a visual artist, revealed her hair turned gray prematurely in her early twenties and she often dyed it. However, she soon stopped dyeing her locks due to the toxicity of the dyes.

“In my 30’s, I let my hair turn “blonde.” I love and support that every womxn can choose how she wants to look at every age. But/and, if womxn are perishing from beauty standards, then let’s talk about those beauty standards. Love to all womxn!” the now-54-year-old penned.

Despite negative comments, many fans have expressed support for Grant’s decision to go gray, highlighting the couple’s happiness as the most important factor.

Roseanne Barr

Echoing Grant’s defiance, Roseanne Barr has also embraced her gray hair, confronting the negative comments with a sense of pride in her age

Barr, whose is in her early seventies, has been subject to body shaming on social media for her natural aging process, including her gray hair.

The best-selling author has undergone a dramatic transformation through the years, which includes changing hairstyles and dyeing her hair. But in 2007, she stated she would stop dyeing her hair and wear her natural gray full-time.

However, Barr, who is also a comedian, started to embrace the aging process in 2008 when she attended the TV Land Awards with her natural gray hair.

Fast forward to 2020, the television star began posting photos of herself rocking long silver hair which she styled in waves, on her social media. A year later, Barr shared a picture wearing a cheetah print dress with gray while showing off her gray locks.

Despite the negativity, Barr has embraced her age and gray hair, stating, “I want to look old because I am old. And I think it’s good to be old, too.” Barr’s stance on aging reflects a broader acceptance of natural beauty standards.

Jodie Foster

Finally, Jodie Foster’s experiences bring the discussion full circle. Foster faced criticism for her appearance, particularly her gray roots, in the trailer for HBO’s “True Detective: Night Country.”

The trailer of the long-awaited series came out in April 2023, and while many people were happy to see the Oscar Award-winning actress, otherwise were quick to point out how much she had aged.

In the clip, Foster appeared with her natural gray hair and aging face. Some people were stunned to see the former child star looking her age and mentioned how she is getting old.

One person assumed that the film star has had work done on her face, writingI hope she hasn’t gotten one of those facelifts that gives everyone who gets one that permanent ‘pork chopsh and apple shauce’ lishp thing.”

Despite negative comments about her aging, Foster remains content with her natural appearance. Support from fans has shifted the conversation from criticism to admiration, highlighting Foster’s enduring beauty and talent. One individual said she looked good, another sang her praises and complimented her beauty.

These celebrities, facing and responding to criticism over their natural aging process, highlight a growing movement towards embracing natural beauty and challenging traditional beauty standards in Hollywood.

A passenger has been fiercely defended after he refused to switch seats with a married couple because the wife didn’t want to sit in the middle seat.

The anonymous man, 45, took to Reddit to share his experience traveling while sitting in a window seat and next to a husband and wife. He admitted that he declined to swap sweats with the woman whom was sitting in the middle seat.

His confession reignited a heated conversation surrounding travel etiquette after a frequent flyer slammed an ‘entitled’ plane passenger who demanded she switch to his middle seat on an 11-hour flight so he could sit next to his wife.

The frequent flyer questioned if he was in the wrong in a thread titled, ‘Am I the A**hole,’ for refusing to swap with the woman.

The anonymous man, 45, took to Reddit to share his experience traveling while sitting in a window seat and next to a husband and wife (stock image)

He wrote: ‘I (m45) was seated at the window seat in the plane. A couple boarded and the wife sat down in the middle seat with the husband at the aisle.

After settling in, the wife leans over towards me with a sweet smile and says, “Would you be a darling and switch seats with me? I really can’t fly well in a middle seat.” So I leaned towards her and asked if that was her partner, to which she said, “Yes it’s my husband.”

‘I told her that I would never want to come between a husband and wife but I was more than happy to help accommodate by switching with him so I would sit in the aisle and the two if then could figure it out amongst themselves.’

However, this solution wasn’t good enough for the woman – who claimed that her husband wouldn’t sit in the middle seat.

She then continued to beg the 45-year-old passenger to switch sweats with her.

‘”Oh my husband would never sit in the middle or at a window… so maybe you can do a woman a favor and switch?”

‘I told her that I really apologize but I won’t do it. Moments later I hear her yelling at her husband in another language (which I am fluent in) that, “The jerk wont switch seats so you got to switch with me.”

‘He ends up switching and leans over with a smile and says that his wife switched with him because she has diarrhea and needs the aisle in case she must run,’ he explained.

People flooded the comments section and slammed the woman for begging another passenger to switch seats while praising the 45-year-old for putting his foot down

People flooded the comments section and slammed the woman for begging another passenger to switch seats while praising the 45-year-old for putting his foot down.

One person said: ‘Not the a**hole. Jerks do this on purpose thinking they can strong arm you. Sit where you paid and don’t trade unless it’s better for you and you want to.

‘I’d have answered that old man back in his language, “Your wife is a bully, enjoy her diarrhea.”‘

Someone else commented: ‘Hah. My spouse and I often sit opposite each other or in front/behind each other because we both prefer aisles. Never a problem to sit apart for a few hours. Not the a**hole by the way.’

‘Not the a**hole. I hope she made it to the bathroom in time,’ someone else wrote.

One user said: ‘Not the a**hole – you’re under no obligation to switch seats on a plane. You bought the ticket that you presumably wanted, and they could have done the same.’

‘Not the a**hole. Very awkward request to ask you to sit between them. No thank you,’ someone else wrote.

In the past, a frequent flyer has revealed she refused to switch her window seat with an ‘entitled’ passenger who wanted to sit next to his wife.

The unnamed woman took to Reddit to share how she declined to move to a middle seat during an 11-hour flight from New York to Cairo, Egypt, so the man sitting next to her could sit beside his wife.

The anonymous woman shared her story on the social media platform as a way to rant about the man under a thread titled, ‘EntitledPeople,’ prompting others on the web to slam the man for asking someone else to switch to a lower-quality seat so he could be happy.

The denial comes months after one man sparked furious debate when he refused to give up his first-class seat for his boss, despite using his own credit card points to do so.

In the past, DailyMail.com’s Jaci Stephen even offered up her view, and confessed that she ‘absolutely refuses’ to swap seats, no matter how angry the passenger requesting to switch may get.
